Better late than never, here's my coverage of ALL the new items and features added to Terraria in the 1.4.3 Don't Starve Together Crossover Update! They really put a lot of work into this update, big ups on Re-logic. I feel like Klei could've put more effort into the crossover, I get that they didn't want to hurt the integrity of the don't starve experience but there was certainly potential for more if they just were a bit more creative with it.
Yeah, overall I think I agree with that. Like even the fight against the twins - they really should have added some fire and lasers to make the fight more challenging, rather than just 2 bosses basically the same as the Eye of Terror but just with more HP and damage. Re-Logic on the other hand really knocked it out of the park with what they did for Terraria.
Your beginner guide for terraria has helped me immensely on figuring out what to do xD. Thank you so much. If you could show what should be done once hard mode becomes available that would help out alot!
@@salendrak I've been thinking about it, and it would've been awesome if Don't Starve implemented the quick stack to nearby chests function that Terraria has. Honestly that would've been the best possible feature they could've added from Terraria.
@@salendrak the 2 can be a pain, because they summon tons of little eyes, and will rip parties apart without proper strategies. Also, the shield it drops is extremely powerful.
actually decided to try terraria because of this crossover, love the twin fight in dont starve and the helmet dropped from it is such a banger item, that just had to come over to the other side to try the goodies here too

Magiluminescence is such a crazy accessory given how early you can get it. You can accelerate from idle to max speed in less than a second with speed boots. The extra light puts it over the edge as well. Works really well compared to pre hardmode light pets that are fairly dim and tend to trail behind you instead of stick with you.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of it - in both games!!
The extra light is insane. Especially in the secret seed and in Don’t Starve.
Wendy isn't really happy about her sister being kidnapped and forced to fight for a stranger. But Abigail doesn't mind, she's pretty much used to this XDXD
Another chance to murder mass hordes of enemies? Abigail is DOWN for that!!
Magiluminescence is such a good accessory, I often use it up to hardmode just because of that great mobility boost and the light is great for caving.

I played terraria a bit blind while still knowing a bit but I accidentally encountered deerclops by accident and wow I didn’t even know the collab but the wheather pain was very good moving forward 😊
Deerclops does like to surprise people like that! I once got attacked by old Clopsy while camping. True story! I even got it on video!!
Thanks for both the DST and Terraria video, I had no idea what was new in the crossover and it made me want to go back and play this games again after a long time

I always enjoy people that enjoys both the games in a video game crossover, when you play both games and you enjoy them you get a weird nostalgic feeling that nothing else can replicate, it’s hard to describe but… I think you know what I mean

I see the game has changed a lot since I last played. I thought the patch that introduced hardmode was the final update.

Yeah I just started playing first timer here today! I have the summoner for the Ghost Abigail and she has literally carried my noob ass all the way to tungsten armor! she is a great find! Especially early on!

Overall I think the Terraria update got LOTS more substantive content. DST mostly got skins, 1 bossfight, and small handful of functional items. Still cool though!

What about the new cave generation? I heard that with this constant, all caves in the world are generated using the new wave-like pattern (I don't know exactly what that means). Is there any info on that?
Basically like it sounds - caves are more likely to be big connected tunnels that criss-cross and go much further than default world-gen. Or something like that 😆

the switch version just got the update but for some reason i can't access the hairstyles. do i need to make a constant world and unlock the stylist? i was able to get the vanities so i'm a bit confused
I think you will need the Hair Stylist to change hairstyles. I'm pretty sure she has more options than what you get at character creation.
@@salendrak sorry i think i explained it a bit poorly lol. i have the stylist and everything, but the hairstyles aren't available for some reason. it has all of the normal styles but i can't find the wilson or willow hairstyles. i tried the wiki already but they're not unlockable hairstyles or anything so i'm really confused.
@@brainsnez Yeah, I'm not sure. Seems like I was able to get them in a regular world and NOT a Don't Starve one, but I think they're at the end of the list or something. Maybe you're just not seeing it? I think it took me a while to find the right ones LOL

Yup - I'll be doing a preparing for Hard Mode video at some point, once I wrap up the rest of the pre-hard mode stuff I've got planned and before doing the Wall of Flesh. Not sure how soon it will be out thoug...hopefully in the next month or two?
@@salendrak wall of flesh master mode for ranger is a real pain to me, phoenix blaster doesn't pierce and it's a pain to deal with the hungry, hellwing bow is too inaccurate and molten fury doesn't pierce. Grenades / Beenades is terrible for the eye/mouth. Dynamites are pretty decent, but I don't wanna blow away my brigde that cost half an hour to build, imagine fighting it multiple time! I hope you'll post a video about Wall of Flesh and Hardmode soon. Btw your channel deserve way more attention than this.

Oddly I don't see any of those items mentioned on new guides, specially the summon.
Which guides are you referring to? To be honest, lots of the DST items, while fun, are pretty situational. Abigail is pretty good for general farming, but not so strong against bosses generally. Similarly most of the other items aren't great for bosses either. Still fun though!
Wait i noticed the thing that i downloaded 1.4.3 for the first time i didnt knew there was dont starve item at least first of all i killed 56 Soul eater then it dropped monster meat so i was confused...
Yeah, that would be super confusing if you were familiar with both games but didn't know about the crossover. Actually, that would be pretty super awesome!!

You don't! Mobile Don't Starve is the single player version of the game, and it doesn't have any character customization. To get that you have to play Don't Starve Together, which is a very similar but _different_ game that is only on PC and consoles.

Soooo that's kind of a running joke with the Terraria devs. They've said many times in the past that an update is the final update...only to do another final update...followed by yet another update. So yeah - there will be more final updates in the future!

@@djpdittog5393 Oh, true - I generally refer to crimson and demon alters as evil altars, that way I don't have to individually identify them by name. Because they're both EVIL!!!
