  • Bach's Tocatta and Fugue was an exploration of the extraordinary capabilities of what a pipe organ could do in the hands and feet of a master. It's encouraging to see these guitarists bring their own skills to this incredible piece. If you've ever experienced this piece in a church, you would know the only thing lacking in the arrangement was the time for the sound to fill the cathedral and the acoustics to finish their journey around the marble surfaces.

    • Да. Вы правы. Слёзы на глазах... У меня в голове только одна мысль: как же ХОЧЕТСЯ ЖИТЬ!!! Партитура действительно разложена суперски! Да и смена регистров создаёт ощущение НАСТОЯЩЕГО костёльного органа. Видно, что мужички провели бурную молодость, но сейчас задумались и о прекрасном, и о вечном, и о добром, и о Душе... Мне как музыканту много не рассказать - музыка ощущается в каждой клеточке... Шикарное исполнение❤

  • This is Brilliant. Proves the fact that quite a few rock guitarists have or have had some background in classical music and most appreciate it. It is impossible to be a great musician and not love all great music. And great music has no time or genre. It is timeless. Brilliant!

    • all the great prog rock musicians studied classical music (especially eg Yes, Genesis, Led Zep, Deep Purple, ELP, etc) and many of the top lead guitarists learned classical guitar.

    • @@Kapelmeyster Technicaly all music are based on the earliest music. Shamanic dancing and singing give start for music evolution. Classic music had the earliest and the biggest notation (shamanic singing lost in the past) so every modern music had no choice only start from classic music.

It can be characterized as light, intimate music with extremely elaborate and refined forms of ornamentation. Exemplars include Jean Philippe Rameau, Louis-Claude Daquin and François Couperin in France; in Germany, the style's main proponents were C. P. E. Bach and Johann Christian Bach, two sons of J.S. Bach. "Rococo" and "Rock", coincidence???

    • Фортепиано - те же струны, а орган - те же трубы. Идея - оригинальная, но звучание органа даже смешно сравнивать даже со звучанием сотни электрогитар. Здесь главный - И.С. Бах, а он писал для органа! Но что поделаешь: пластмассовый век, электронный Бах, надувные женщины и т.п.

    • @@oooszh А Вам и не надо сравнивать! Бах писал для органа и только он мог бы сравнивать. В моей молодости про одно действо говорили: "- всё равно, что нюхать розу через противогаз!". Так и Баха "любители" могут воспринимать через что угодно, в силу своих ощущений. Ведь когда мужчина не может покорить или купить живую женщину, он может воспользоваться резиновой. Задайте вопрос: можете Вы себе в живую позволить органный концерт? И как часто? И как ко времени? Лично я - нет, но и извращения не по мне. Хотя и в цифре, но предпочитаю записи органа с винила. А Вам - как угодно. Спасибо.

    • @@user-nr2oq1xf9m во-первых, сравнивать Вы стали. Во-вторых, мне 47 лет, и 40 из них я профессионально занимаюсь музыкой. Эту токатту и фуг Ре-минор я играл десятки раз, а слушал - сотни. И вообще весь ХТК, оба тома. В том числе и в исполнении органистов несколько раз ( и у нас, и за рубежом ). Никогда бы в жизни не пришло в голову сравнивать Музыку и презервативы. Это у Вас с восприятием что-то...

  • Я совершенно не воспринимаю оргАн и только сейчас, благодаря этому исполнению, я наконец-то раскрыла для себя это произведение - прочувствовала и поняла его неземную мощь, красоту и величие..! На 2:30 минуте - неописуемо прекрасный момент... Прямо дети-ангелы с электрогитарами..! Невыразимо тихая, чистая, кроткая нежность..! Будто отголоски откуда-то с Небес..! Это прекрасно до боли в сердце..!!! А потом опять этот драматичный накал..! "А он, мятежный, просит бури..." Да, истинная целостность - в гармонии и единстве противоположностей... Любимый Бах, любимый рок..! Музыка вечности, льющаяся через инструменты страсти и свободы, в руках живых и настоящих, брутальных и не очень, позёров и скромников, чутких и вдохновенных... Соединение небесного и земного... Неизмеримая высота и глубина... Расширение. Очищение. Постижение. Ощущение Чуда. До слёз и мурашек..! Восхищение и благодарность за то, что такое вообще возможно и за то, что это есть 💖 P.S. Я тут слышу тему земных мук и терзаний, борьбу, оплакивание... Мрак смерти и свет вечной жизни... Надо будет почитать историю создания произведения и смыслы, заложенные автором... Но в любом случае, совершенно очевидно, что это гениальная музыка с сакральным смыслом 🙏🏻

  • Wow! Just...wow! The Tocatta from the Tocatta and Fugue by J.S. Bach is light - years away from being an easy piece to play on the organ. To have 15 different musicians playing it in unison and in synch is astounding to me. I take my hat off to the person who arranged this, and to the musicians who played it. Bravo guys! 👏

  • As a composer of top films, I am utterly awestruck! The precision, voicing, use of varied guitar tones, the sheer coordination of the arrangement, the virtuosity and pure joy of playing this is beyond words!! I exalt & revere the Music God BACH for his unquantifiable instrumental music that continues to relentlessly inspire & help create innumerable virtuosic musical compositions (like the one in this video), & his masterpieces will provide this 'power' of musical enlightenment perpetually.

    • @@karasunkar787 Насчёт Баха может быть, ну а Паганини точно Рокер. В 80х поселили к нам в общагу МВД молодого лейтенанта. Он привез с собой неплохую аппаратуру, и как то врубил Паганини, это было нечто.

    • With all due respect, the original metalhead was Antonia Vivaldi. Take a good listen to La Folia (Madness), and I think you'll agree that if Vivaldi had had electric instruments, heavy metal would have been invented some 230 years earlier.

  • This arrangement gives the piece justice and is performed at a level that corresponds to the composition's level. Bach is Bach, but whomever organized this deserves a lot of credit. It is, without a doubt, the greatest ensemble arrangement of this song I have ever heard. Professional and well-respected string groups, on the other hand, seem to perform a considerably worse job. They nearly come across as uninspired. This is brilliance at work, inspired by Bach's genius. All people who put it together deserve kudos and awe. I'm being blown away. This isn't something to laugh at just because there are electric guitars playing. This is high-quality artwork. This piece may be performed in any of the world's finest concert venues and would not be out of place. I enjoy this composition, but the organ is spooky, the violin is too soft, the orchestra has simply too many distractions... and I'd never considered using an electric guitar until today!

    • Think of the organ as Bach playing along with these guys. He is there. I agree he would have loved it. The organ was the most complex thing he could wrote for. This assembly would drive him nuts with joy and challenge.

  • What many forget is that every guitar needed to be tuned perfectly. One falsely tuned guitar, even slightly, and everything would fall apart. They nailed it. Great stuff!!

  • This is incredible! When I originally heard this piece of music by Bach I didn't like it and couldn't appreciate it. But now! WOW! It's one of my most favourite pieces of music! When people listen to music, really listen, only then can we understand and appreciate the genius quality of all musicians. Sadly, I'm not one of them. Two finger piano and that's it. Ah well.   • This arrangement does the piece justice and is done at the level that matches the level of the piece itself. Bach’s Bach, but whoever arranged this is right up there. It’s the best ensemble arrangement I have heard of this piece, bar none. Professional and highly respected string ensembles somehow do a much poorer job. They almost sound uninspired. This is genius at work, genius inspired by Bach. Kudos and mad respect to all those who arranged it. I’m blow away. This is nothing to scoff at just because electric guitars are playing. This is high caliber art. This one could be played in the best concert halls of the world and would not be out of place at all. I’ve dabbled with arranging this formidable piece many times over the last 5 years, and it’s nothing where you can do a passable job and have it “pass”. It’s too obvious when the music dwarfs the performance. Here we see balance and synergy. It’s awesome and it’s a study performance for anyone who wants a career that involves lots of arranging.

Half of them (if not more...) probably can't read score, none of them would know what to do with a conductor, but this thing called rhythm? They can do that, no problem.

  • Sheer INTENSITY. Knocked my socks off . So many guitars playing their parts for Toccata & Fugue that in the end it exploded like dynomite. These are really high level fine musicians to be able to take on Johann Sebastian Bach. They play like a band of wizards. Pure MAGIC. Loved every note. A lot of hard work went into this performance.

  • Феноменальный замысел, феноменальное исполнение! Довольно давно, и не только мною, было замечено, что рок и классика весьма органично перекликаются. Неспроста нам довелось услышать данное исполнение. Да и неудивительно, что многие рокеры исполняют, удачно и не очень, классические произведения, и наоборот, симфонические оркестры являют нам классическое заучание наиболее талантливых рок-шедевров. БРАВО! Между прочим, довольно много людей пришли к классике через рок-музыку, о чём свидетельствует, кстати, один из наиболее развернутых комментариев здесь.

    • Violin is not guitar though, they both have strings (very different ones) but there the ‘parallel’ ends, you can’t give a violin arranger the credit for an electric guitar arrangement

  • Perhaps the greatest composition ever written. In Bach's notes that were written in the original score he said what he wanted to portray in the opening phrases was that moment when Mary was told by the angel that she was to be the mother of the promised Messiah.

    • This are mainly spanish musicians. The guy that made it possible is Pablo Salinas, that is the guy with long hair and plays the most important parts with also Luis Cruz, that it's the hat guy. They are probably in the top ten guitar players of all time in Spain.

    • В курсе ....даже знаем, что помимо Иогана Себастьяна Баха, в его роду было более 50 известных музыкантов. И Токката и фуга ре минор, BWV 565 произведение для органа Иоганна Себастьяна Баха, одно из наиболее популярных его сочинений . Рок музыка и рок музыканты тут указаны в связи с тем, что большинство их считают не способных играть сложные музыкальные произведения, так как по мнению этого "большинства" они способны к воспроизведению примитивных композиций. P.S. семейство Бахов писали и играли свои произведения более двух столетий. Произведение предположительно написано Бахом во время его пребывания в Арнштадте в период между 1703 и 1707 г.

    • Begin of this was the theme music which I liked for a children series. Later when I found out it was Bach's composition I was positively surprised but after a bit tough it made sense.
