Meet the World's New Record Breaking Gulfstream G700
I was invited to an exclusive viewing event of Gulfstream's new flagship, the Gulfstream G700 in Doha, Qatar.
Gulfstream introduced the G700 as the industry’s new flagship aircraft. It boasts business aviation’s most spacious cabin and can fly farther, and faster, than any other competitor in the business-jet industry. Equipped with the all-new Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, and an advanced high-speed wing design, the G700 is able to fly at a record-breaking speed (Mach .925) and range with outstanding efficiency.
The G700 cockpit features the award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck, with active control sidesticks. The cockpit has done away with most buttons and replaced them with a clean touchscreen design on all panels.
Qatar Executive, the private jet arm of Qatar Airways, is the launch customer of G700. The executive charter service provider has ordered 10 of the world’s largest business jets, taking delivery of the very first aircraft off the Gulfstream assembly line in Georgia, US in 2022.

I'm sorry I missed that one. I retired from Gulfstream in 2015, 42 years service. Nice job guys.
What was your role there?
So, you must have worked for Grumman Gulfstream when it was on Long Island, right and before moving to Savannah? I worked for Gulfstream in Procurement for less than 6 months in early 1992 and hated it. My boss was a former secretary named Brenda Greenway who was reputed to have slept around to move up in the company and was, without a doubt one of the dumbest people I've ever had the misfortune to report to. My day-to-day supervisor was a retired US Army LT COL helicopter pilot who had zero procurement experience and proved it every day. I was relieved when they terminated me and couldn't wait to leave Savannah.

That guy who showed Sam the cabin - what a professional and how well-spoken. I've seen other asses who repeat the same words and act like they don't know their product. This guy is a real pro. Good on ya man.
Agreed. He was very calm, soft-spoken, and explained everything clearly and concisely.
Seriously a pro. I guess he has to be in that industry!
Salesman who really knows the product 😀
Just to clarify, when you're talking about unprofessional salespeople, do you mean in aviation or just generally? Because with an almost $80million product, I'd be shocked if people didn't hire the best.
@@heyokaikaggen6288 I watched a similar video and the "Salesperson" was horrible. I forget, but he kept repeating the same word and he didn't come off whatsoever as knowledgeable.
Beautiful in every way. Side note: While at the Avalon Airshow a few years ago was looking at the GS's from outside and one of the staff asked me would I like a tour? I explained that the aircraft was a "bit" out of my reach and I didn't want to be a waste of time for him. No problem he said and invited me anyway. Got the full tour, was shown respect, answered all my questions, what a great bloke and brand.
And that's exactly how you should promote your brand, he done his job exactly right. Glad to hear you were treated well!
That's a great story. I hope you enjoyed the tour
When I was younger, maybe because I looked like a WASP prince, people were always shoeing me the back-room Rembrandt. Which became a bit of a problem, really.

Gulfstream, "How can we some free advertising to 500,000 people?" Sam Chiu, "Well, I can get you 500,000 views but it won't be free. Just a nice lunch & a flight in the 650 will get it done" Good deal sam.
Not just Gulfstream, but also Qatar Executive, which is a subsidiary Qatar Airways, which is owned by the Government of Qatar. The State of Qatar, incidentally, is a de facto absolute monarchy, like other lovely vacation spots like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Brunei, Eswatini (Swaziland) and Vatican City. I recommend a read of the wikipedia article Human rights in Qatar to get the gist of why promoting this regime isn't exactly great.

I flew one with « Swiss » for a 50min flight and I couldnt complain, after all it’s just a bus and the whole point for 50minute flight is not that much the confort, but the environment impact and fuel efficiency, and for that matter, it’s hard to beat the A220.. Bombardier did very well, and they gave it to Airbus. Very good deal for Airbus :)
@@MrLanriec flight from Detroit to Houston around 3+ hr. flight. I don't know the make of the Bombardier but the flight was uneventful, the plane itself was uncomfortable to the point that I felt sore after it and since I had to fly back a week later, my son graciously upgraded me to first class, more comfortable seats. Could be my age but I've since flown to las Vegas afterwards on a 737 and those seats were way more comfortable. @@tedmitchell226 i flew Swiss and Swiss Airline had some custom leather seats with cushions, very confortable. Yeah, fly the 737 instead, that’s a very nice aircraft 🛫
@@tedmitchell226 you were probably on a Bombardier CRJ regional jet. It's a plane only used for short flights, like you said 3 hours. The regional jet is not a private jet like this gulfstrean or other Bombardier private jets. If you took a flight on a Bombardier 7500 private jet you would be amazed.
