  • Brian has an excellent way of appealing to new hunters and casuals in his meticulous way of explaining things. Makes it easy to understand and so full of knowledge. A lot of other hardcore guys don't take the time Brian does at explaining how and why he uses things the way he does. Bravo.

  • I just bought my second set of Peax trekking poles. I loaned my first set to my son and he liked them so much he wouldn't give them back! LOL I use a lot of the KUIU gear. I lived in Dixon CA for a long time and knew Jason. It was hard to use something else. I still know several people on their design team. I'm like you, in that my favorite pant is the Kutana. There is so much of their stuff that I use though. But I do have a question. How do the Peax gaiters compare to the KUIU? Bigger raft - river of doubt!!! LOL I'm really looking forward to the films with Pedro!

  • Great video Gritty team. Thank you for the gear dump. That neck gasket on your dry suit should be modifiable. The rings on the inside of the gasket give you a guide to cut along. Take it slow. • Glad you guys are going to 300 mags. The 6.5 are ok, but people ask too much of them at distance. And too many things can happen at distance as well. I get my standards from Nathan Foster of New Zealand. No one person compares to his experience for long range hunting. I like the Gun Weeks guys too. They use 30. Cal. Mags too. I think a lot of game is lost with the 6.5 cals.... .284 cal with 175 and 180 grain bullets are a solid min for larger game at distance.

    • @@GrittyGearAndPodcast Also, you and Ryan don't appear to over ask of the 6.5 cal. The only reason I think I know anything is because of whatNathan Foster of New Zealand write about in his books. The more I watch you, the more I like your program. • Is your big boat the Forager? I have one for moose. You can seal off the self bailing feature with Gorilla tape. Self Bailing with a drysuit is pretty darn great. Never used a 1 pound suit though... interesting to see how durable it is. You can cut a little bit off of the latex gasket at a time until they fit well and are snug but don't choke you.

    @north61@north612 жыл бұрын
    • Right on! Thank you for the information. Yes, it’s a Forager. That self-bailing trick with the Gorilla tape sounds like a great idea! EXCELLENT info on the neck gasket-I wondered if I could cut it. I’m going to do that! The suit chokes the hell out of me right now.

    • No it isn't. Not enough for a comment. It works but every guide in Alaska dedicated to hunting grizz uses.338 or bigger bullets. Grizz are like a big bull from the rodeo, but give them huge teeth and claws. You want to hit that with a 170 grain bullet? No way. I would never hunt alaska grizz with bullets under 220 grains. Ever. Just because 30-06 is common around North America and gets used on grizz, doesn't mean it's a first choice.

    • It's a great piece of gear to keep your rifle and scope protected while still being very light weight.

    • We both know your question is dishonest. People buy what they value-and this varies widely by individual. Some buy a lot of this gear and others only buy one or two items in this kit. You know that. Take what’s useful and leave the rest. 👍🏼

    • It shaves a little bit of weight. We have found though, in cold temperatures we take the large regular or the SXL. They produce more heat because they are better sealed.
