  • This is amazingly accurate to how so many people actually get into DnD. They make a joke character, have a few laughs, play the first few sessions tongue in cheek. But then the tactics, acting, and freedom of the genre stokes their creativity, and one day they go "You know what? No, I don't want to punch down today. Let's actually tell a story with some drama and teeth." And boom, we've got another one :)

  • You know, this scene is treated like a joke inside and out, but if you actually think about it it just might make you sad. (SPOILERS FOR TAAKO'S BACKSTORY) A little after Petals to the Metal, in the The eleventh Hour ark, we get to know his backstory a little bit. His greatest mistake to be precise. His assistant in his cooking show "Sizzle it up with Taako" poisons almost an entire town out of jealousy, and Taako assumes it was his fault, he assumes he messed up a transmutation while cooking. Years later he picks the Mangoose as an animal he'd like to be associated with, and he reasons with the fact that the animal can't be poisoned. He feels like shit for something he hasn't done, and if that's not Hella 3d, I don't know what is.

  • I firmly believe that this arc is where it starts to get real. The ending combined with taako's rant and the addition of music really starts to add some weight to how these characters act.
