  • I've seen many foreign-born players in Japan and kind of saw a pattern. The players who succeed are the ones who put effort into adapting the NPB style of play, practice, and open mind about culture. Fans will cheer for you if they see you're trying. The players who can't let go of Major leaguer's egos and pride are the ones having a harder time succeeding in the NPB. I hope he'll have a good season there.

    • batters in japan: foul off a lot of pitches; put the ball in play and dash to 1B rather than full swing and being struck out; if it is no out and runner on first, lots of sac bunts especially in the Central League.... get used to it when foreign pitchers gonna to pitch in japan. 😂

    • Well hopefully Trevor's nowhere near the end of his career. I tuned out what he was going through last spring because it felt like he was being railroaded and now on April 5th, 2023 I'm playing Trevor Bauer catch-up. I've known a couple of guys with a similar personality to Trevor and they often dont make many close friends. I hope his pitching, not his "weirdness" brings him back to MLB and lots of success.

    • I wish this sort of platform and content existed when I was playing in HS and JUCO. The sheer tools, analytical, and training routines and science that goes into preparing yourself today is sick. All i had as practice for myself when no one else was around and I wasn't playing in a league, was to scratch a strike zone on the side of a neighbors garage (thankfully they didn't care), and pitch simulated games. I spent YEARS pitching simulated games starting when I was about 7 years old.

I had told you about the silent auction we hold every other year to help pay hospital and personal bills of local men and women battling cancer. I asked if you would sign a ball or jersey, and you told me to meet you outside of the gate after the next game. When I met you, you handed me a dozen brand new balls signed from various individual players. I was really grateful and I'm sure they brought a decent amount for the silent auction. I immediately became a fan of yours and was sad to see you leave Cleveland, but was so happy for your success and Cy young.i wish you the best and would love to have you back in Cleveland.
