It just cannot survive on 1 map per season. 2 minimum or 1 big map pack. I understand that maps take months to make, but for a live service game - and if EA want the next title to succeed, I suggest you guys hire an entire studio just dedicated to the live service part of the game. Also, downsize the maps if bigger ones are just taking too long to make. Some of us would very much welcome a re-imagining of all of the BF3 Close Quarters DLC maps for 2042.

They could simply bring one big new map per season and one big map remaster from BF4. That way we'd have 2 kinda new maps 1 and 1, but that would be at least something. BFV didn't have seasons and 1 map per season and it eventually brought more maps in a single year than BF2042 in it's entirety. Operation Mercury, Marita, and 3 Pacific maps.

Well, they did pretty good job since the release, they turned maps from huge fields of nothing to smaller, but much more filled with content maps (imo Exposure is one of the best things happened to Battlefield, I'm absolutely in love with this map), added bunch of new weapons and vehicles, revamped classes and characters So yeh, I think, or, at least, I hope, that this update will show us something rlly new and surprising Well, we'll see tomorrow, amen

@@GunGriffin187 FIRST OF ALL. a multiplayer can't make a flat landscape. which is very unlikely and unless you have half of the team convinced to destroy structures which is unlikely. secondly, for that there are natural covers that are elements that can not be destroyed that are like mounds, hills, rocks and slopes. Or you can also put more than two explorable floors and not put filler buildings as in some maps.

@@Theosake I literally do not care what the devs have to say. Why would I? I'll compare the games all I want. Yes it does play like battlefield, especially battlefield 4 but with the building from battlefield 5. If you've played those games, you'll know it's very very similar, and the same strategies that work in battlefield 4 also work very well in battlebit. There's really not many features that set it apart from battlefield. I guess self-healing with limited bandages+bleeding? That's about it in terms of proper mechanics that aren't very similar to things already done in battlefield. There's very minor stuff like helis can drop rappelling ropes and you can pick different gear but that doesn't really change the gameplay at all. +1 gadget and +2 frags is hardly a difference maker. Especially when things like that were already squad boosts in BF3. The weapons are similar, the classes are similar, the weapon groups being locked to classes are similar, vehicles are similar, the modes are similar, the marketing is similar, the mechanics are similar, the style (as in, modern military shooter with heavy emphasis on squad play with large playercounts/maps) is similar, the damage falloff system is EXTREMELY similar (even down to sniper rifles increasing in damage in a range much like was introduced in BF1 and 5).

Something I will never understand about 2042 was the missed opportunity for Dice to have its cake and eat it too. They wanted and pushed their "specialists" so so hard and the community has never really cared for them. They should've just redid the hero system from Battelfront 2 where players could've earned points to become a specialist operator and then kept the class system. It just confuses me how the game could've been much better for some simple tweaks during development.

I never gave up on this because i thought it would turn out like apex become a great game after a few seasons. It's the sixth one dice, i give up there is genuinely no hope for battlefield 2042. A remake isn't all too different than building an entirely new map. The concept exists for an already existing map, sure, but with the different engine it would essentially be rebuilding the entire map over again from scratch. I wish for the same though, I'd die to see some BF4 maps on 2042.

That would defeat the entire purpose of it being time sensitive tho, correct? People get a sense of accomplishment unlocking items with only a finite amount of time to do so. A "once in a lifetime" sorta feeling owning something that was only available to unlock for a limited time. But yeah, people who weren't around when it happened won't get it, but then again, I wouldn't expect a game to cater to me if I start it late.

@@TheBattlefieldArchive Well, CoDM done it, they have a system called “Battle Pass Vault”, every season with the new Battle Pass they bring back key items in an old one to the Vault, you can gain tokens for Vault after completing the current Battle Pass, it allows ppl to unlock rewards they miss in previous seasons if they decide to play more this season, it’s been working fine for I think over a year now, ppl are happy that Battle Pass rewards are not truly limited, it’s just more convenient to obtain in their own season, and you won’t have to wait a year or two until they’re in the Vault

I think the game has well above 70.000 active players and even more when a new season launches.

i can't say i agree with metro as a great map next to maps like Dragon Pass, Dragon Valley and Giants of Karelia... but we didn't have a Dozer ballistic shield and we didn't have Irish with sentinels and/or fortification to play with in in CQB style for Metro either. they would surely have made that mode way more interesting. also not sure why they didn't consider using BF1 operations format in BF2042. would have at least kept people in the game longer and made for more meaningful team coordination which 2042 still sorely needs. i really miss the epic feel of 45+ minute sessions.

It just cannot survive on 1 map per season. 2 minimum or 1 big map pack. I understand that maps take months to make, but for a live service game - and if EA want the next title to succeed, I suggest you guys hire an entire studio just dedicated to the live service part of the game. Also, downsize the maps if bigger ones are just taking too long to make. Some of us would very much welcome a re-imagining of all of the BF3 Close Quarters DLC maps for 2042.

Well, they did pretty good job since the release, they turned maps from huge fields of nothing to smaller, but much more filled with content maps (imo Exposure is one of the best things happened to Battlefield, I'm absolutely in love with this map), added bunch of new weapons and vehicles, revamped classes and characters So yeh, I think, or, at least, I hope, that this update will show us something rlly new and surprising Well, we'll see tomorrow, amen

@@GunGriffin187 FIRST OF ALL. a multiplayer can't make a flat landscape. which is very unlikely and unless you have half of the team convinced to destroy structures which is unlikely. secondly, for that there are natural covers that are elements that can not be destroyed that are like mounds, hills, rocks and slopes. Or you can also put more than two explorable floors and not put filler buildings as in some maps.

@@Theosake I literally do not care what the devs have to say. Why would I? I'll compare the games all I want. Yes it does play like battlefield, especially battlefield 4 but with the building from battlefield 5. If you've played those games, you'll know it's very very similar, and the same strategies that work in battlefield 4 also work very well in battlebit. There's really not many features that set it apart from battlefield. I guess self-healing with limited bandages+bleeding? That's about it in terms of proper mechanics that aren't very similar to things already done in battlefield. There's very minor stuff like helis can drop rappelling ropes and you can pick different gear but that doesn't really change the gameplay at all. +1 gadget and +2 frags is hardly a difference maker. Especially when things like that were already squad boosts in BF3. The weapons are similar, the classes are similar, the weapon groups being locked to classes are similar, vehicles are similar, the modes are similar, the marketing is similar, the mechanics are similar, the style (as in, modern military shooter with heavy emphasis on squad play with large playercounts/maps) is similar, the damage falloff system is EXTREMELY similar (even down to sniper rifles increasing in damage in a range much like was introduced in BF1 and 5).

Something I will never understand about 2042 was the missed opportunity for Dice to have its cake and eat it too. They wanted and pushed their "specialists" so so hard and the community has never really cared for them. They should've just redid the hero system from Battelfront 2 where players could've earned points to become a specialist operator and then kept the class system. It just confuses me how the game could've been much better for some simple tweaks during development.
So basically giving us content and game modes we've already had. Can't say I'm more than a little disappointed. Also the one game mode we've just had which was amazing isn't being brought back. Dice what are you smoking?

I never gave up on this because i thought it would turn out like apex become a great game after a few seasons. It's the sixth one dice, i give up there is genuinely no hope for battlefield 2042. You just keep adding skins and call it "new season content" i really loved battlefield especially while i was still in high school it helped me at my most stressful moments, sad to see it ruined by greed and a total lack of passion
Please make amazing season 6 with a urban map ( siege of Shangai) and continu development with season 7 , 8 and 9

Going forward, I would be happy with one new map and one remake from past battlefield games that would give us two per season
A remake isn't all too different than building an entirely new map. The concept exists for an already existing map, sure, but with the different engine it would essentially be rebuilding the entire map over again from scratch. I wish for the same though, I'd die to see some BF4 maps on 2042.

That would defeat the entire purpose of it being time sensitive tho, correct? People get a sense of accomplishment unlocking items with only a finite amount of time to do so. A "once in a lifetime" sorta feeling owning something that was only available to unlock for a limited time. But yeah, people who weren't around when it happened won't get it, but then again, I wouldn't expect a game to cater to me if I start it late.
@@TheBattlefieldArchive Well, CoDM done it, they have a system called “Battle Pass Vault”, every season with the new Battle Pass they bring back key items in an old one to the Vault, you can gain tokens for Vault after completing the current Battle Pass, it allows ppl to unlock rewards they miss in previous seasons if they decide to play more this season, it’s been working fine for I think over a year now, ppl are happy that Battle Pass rewards are not truly limited, it’s just more convenient to obtain in their own season, and you won’t have to wait a year or two until they’re in the Vault
I miss BF3 - operation metro, Tehran highway, Norshar Canals! Remember how affective the flashlights and lasers were?

As level S197 I appreciate the effort made to put the game where it currently is. Season six is just gravy and is much appreciated. The team who have revived the game and have made it so much fun keep pushing on and ignore the trolls.

Hoping for new AOW weapons, new vault weapons in AOW, and new maps in Season 6. Would love to either see continued support of this game focused on those areas or see a new Battlefield title set in 90s-present day modern era of warfare with a focus on weapons, maps, team play, destruction, and grounded in reality instead of futuristic.
A Cold War style battlefield would be killer
@@FLATTIEGANGYes, man, we would get to play some of the battles of the Vietnam War and The Korean War. Or battles that aren’t well known that’ll be in this Cold War game. I think Dice should focus on making a Cold War game but they’re already in development of their next game so who knows.

Hi DICE 🎉🎉🎉, why wouldn’t you allow us to mix vehicles, weapons,equipments and soldiers from different eras at portal mode it would be great if I create my own army because I like to play with bots and I like to experience this a lot and it would be great if there was no limitations like I want to mix every single thing in this game ,I like bf2042 and I wish you allow us to mix armies 🎉🎉🎉

@@Kubelmann 9.000 on steam alone (roughly 22.000 when a new season drops), then add all the players from Origin/EA app (which is where the majority of people on pc purchased the game) and on top of that add all the console players. I think the game has well above 70.000 active players and even more when a new season launches.
@@AndreasRP. If there's that many people playing, why does the game constantly put us in the same server over and over again when you queue for matchmaking? From someone that actively plays the game and sees the same people every day, there can't be more than 1,000 people playing across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.

i can't say i agree with metro as a great map next to maps like Dragon Pass, Dragon Valley and Giants of Karelia... but we didn't have a Dozer ballistic shield and we didn't have Irish with sentinels and/or fortification to play with in in CQB style for Metro either. they would surely have made that mode way more interesting. also not sure why they didn't consider using BF1 operations format in BF2042. would have at least kept people in the game longer and made for more meaningful team coordination which 2042 still sorely needs. i really miss the epic feel of 45+ minute sessions.

Some people are saying it’s lazy to bring back old events but I think it’s dope that people who missed out (me including) can earn cosmetics and play modes that they didn’t get to play first time around

Nah, they abandoned that mode long ago. All that focus on remastering the classic maps went to each Season development for the players to keep playing.

They might as well have shown a black screen for the "sneak peak" of the new map. Because through that pixelated grainy mess they showed, that's about all it equaled out to. :-/

sadly, no, console to pc is a guaranteed restart from 0% i've checked myself while playing the game in pc after playing from ps4
