Shorter synopsis: Noel Gallagher relives moments of his life on TV, handpicked by Dermot O'Leary.
More:
Looking back with a mixture of pride, curiosity and occasional bewilderment, Noel Gallagher relives moments of his life on TV - handpicked by Dermot O’Leary.
From Maine Road to Downing Street, The Word to Newsnight - Noel has been ever present on our screens for the past 25 years. Now is his chance to watch it back.
In characteristically revealing form, Noel talks about the early days of Oasis, their first TV appearances, his love of Top of the Pops, his role in Cool Britannia, the breakup of one of the world’s most successful rock groups, his own solo career - and how Don’t Look Back In Anger came to define his home town’s response to the Manchester Arena bombing.
Forgot to mention now that people are bringing it up: Yes, the audio is HEAVILY edited. So some parts are silent for copyright reasons. If you've actually been paying attention, I think you'll come to realize that most of the dialogue is VERY MUCH intact. Compare the audio versus the source (BBC iPlayer version) and come back to this. Pay very close attention, and you'll most likely miss it. It's a very special edit indeed made especially for KZhead by us! Hope some of you don't really mind the weird sound. I didn't mind it while I was editing it. I honestly thought it was going to be more awkward, but it actually turned out alright.
It is, indeed annoying. It is too bad it can't be played in its entirety, but I get why. I will watch anything with Noel, Liam and Oasis edited or unedited.
thanks for the effort
good onya mate, I understand and appreciate it, and i know what This Charming Man sounds like anyway! "-)
I appreciate the effort you've made to get it as good as it is.
@Father Jack Hackett A Godlike Genius versus Father Jack Hackett. We're gonna take bets on this one, Dougal.
Still makes me tear up hearing that Don’t Look Back In Anger at that minutes silence. God bless that woman.
Look at the glimmer in his eyes when him and Liam are on the screen together. Noel says he doesnt, but it's clear as day he misses Liam as much as Liam misses Noel.
Course they do, they’re brothers, just both as stubborn as the other
liam doesnt need noel. Sadly he sings the songs and liam is the voice of oasis
dont forget that theres a third gallagher brother called paul. maeby he is the one who should get his brothers back together to make music.
Godlike geniuses

This man could be talking about his weekly shop and it would still draw me in 👊🏻
Yes. Absolutely, Easily. He was always one of the best interviews in popular music...and, still is today.
Yes. He's a great story teller. I'll give him that
Man he is such a down to earth bloke who happens to be one of the best songwriters in history
In real life. Hes a wanker
You clearly no nothing about great song writers!
@@hectorbartlett567 you must be a Rick Astley fan
Gotta love a troll PMSL
@@mikewoollard667 you meant Prick Astley right!!
Stand by Me, The Girl in the Dirty Shirt, Fade In-Out & Don't Go Away are all great songs from Be Here Now xx
And my big mouth.
And I hope I think I know

all around the world 🌍
What a life. Good chap. It’s quite the evolution from what he was to what he has become. Eloquently spoken, great vocabulary. Good teeth. Tidy hair. A talent to say the least. 👍🏻
And with his defamatory comments about Jeremy Corbyn: a rich, establishment puppet who has forgotten both where he has come from and about the well-being of his own class who have been shafted by successive right-wing governments - including by Blair.
Why, why, why does this man make me grin?!!! Always a joy listening to NG.
yeah massively charismatic, and always grounded, doesnt try too hard
I met him outside Ewood Park when City were playing us. I was late and he was obviously missing the crowds outside. He was exactly the same and as I type, I remember he predicted the score right. He said he’d think city will be a bit rusty but should win, I say 2-0. Sure enough it was, look it up. First match of the season around 2010 Blackburn 0-2 City. Met bonehead on a bus taking us from the plane to the terminus and he gave up his seat for my mum, but that’s another story...
90s will never ever be repeated the last great decade on this earth we are lucky we witness it and enjoyed it i always remembered mtv 24/7 music
What do you think made the 90's so great?
That crowd holding a vigil in Manchester singing Don’t Look Back in Anger gets me all the time. Even Noel was clearly moved by it. Great interview with a musical genius and living legend
Genius??. Gifted maybe.
@@drfeelgood5870 A genius no. A genius would still be writing genius music (A la Prince) A genius wouldn't need Liam to sing good oasis songs. Noel can't sing so hows he genius? Liams the voice of Oasis.
@@justinb954 Never said he was a genius. Gifted maybe , a minor gift . According to his ego and his deliusional mind , he is a genius like god . Guys a crackpot!.
@@justinb954 Noel can't sing? Have you listened to music before😂
@@justinb954 Also why does he need Liam to right good songs. Liam didn't help him with writing. He did right a couple but they were never near as good as noels
I hope Bands like Oasis the Beatles and Queen and The Rolling Stones come along again one day
They will
It's not gonna happen. Everyone nowadays is just so stage school. Sam Fender is ok though
They'll just get cancelled
I spend far too much time watching NG interviews.
Me too Sir 😂🇬🇧🎸
Same
He was never going to be a "french wood worker" ;0)
Ive tried watching Liam....But he can't speak.
Me too
I love how he laughs at himself and those clips, it makes me laugh too 😀
His interviews are the best! Thanks for posting this.
An absolute pleasure to watch this! Noel for me is an inspiration and a natural clued up top fella! Inspired my first band and and has a top attitude to life 👌
For some reason, I really enjoy listening to this guy. He just gets it. Screw the haters.
Thank you for the 90's 🎸🇬🇧
Great interview! Thank you for this c
love this guy to bits
Thanks for sharing the video. Enjoyed a lot.
Noel is the fuckin man. Always!! Great video. Please, don't remove it, ever.
When the world reopens oasis MUST be the band to kick it all off again.
Absolutely loved watching this.. I was there when Oasis burst on to the scene. Love Noel love Liam
Nice to see Noel like this. Love it
Bring back the 90s indie scene miss it so much to be fair would never be the same such a great time glad I live through it 🙏
Thank You!!!!!
Noel forever ♡
Such a brilliant time.
He's so grateful. I love that, and Dermot seems so excited about interviewing him.
I just LOVE ❤️ LOVE 💕 LOVe 💜 the songs of Noel GALLAGHER / Live4ever 🇬🇧🎸❤️ Getting a bit emotional 😭
Thank you Noel ! It’s crazy , but you done it ! And being the classy guy you are there was no mention that you gave that song back to the angels !
They will live forever !
Fascinating
If you are in the UK this is still available on BBC IPlayer for another month. 😇
Brilliant
93'-95' Oasis dominated, right when I was in high school, those were good simple times. Before hidious addictions, pandemic,,, etc...
People who weren’t around then wouldn’t realise how big Oasis were for those few years in the mid to late 90’s. They really were the biggest band in the world.
Noel is what you see everyday in my home city of MANCHESTER, we have millions of top storytellers, from the straight members to the grafters. It's a joy to see someone make of the estates. 🙏🏾😆👍🏾 MCFC your welcome.
Great times.. 50 this year don't no where time goes
The start bit where he said hello mam had me crying🤣🤣🤣
best head of hair
Get someone who looks at you the way Dermot looks at Noel @ 10:59
If your not crying, your laughing. And noel laughs that emotion away because deep down he misses it all
"This man needs no introduction, in fact this man doesn't even need two names, It's just Noel" I think Mr. Edmonds and Mr. Fitzpatrick might disagree.
Coward!
"No" & "just no.." Yeah, it's kind of an odd way to start the segment. If I was paranoid I'd wonder if this 'Dermot' geezer was trying to sort of curse the whole thing with a wierd & subtly negative linguistic ploy at the start, which is strange because he's the one doin' the interview. 😩 Mind you, these celebrity presenters probably get so rich that it probably wouldn't matter very much to them if they ended up getting offered fewer equivalent employment opportunities anyway.
Liam's face at the beginning like TF u doin. priceless
The way Liam eyes Noel at mock up TOTP intro is just hilarious.
If The Masterplan had been the 3rd album proper then it would have been totally different. Noel is right.
Absolute savage
I think the fact that one of oasis’s most popular songs was sang by Noel does or at one point did piss liam off a bit. I wasn’t a particularly big oasis fan at first . I lived in a little village that was like a little bubble and the only people that liked oasis and blur were little geeks that couldn’t fight sleep . I’m not really paying attention coz all i ever got to hear them was in my pals clapped out shitty old first car with twin knob cassette radio player with terrible speakers and I could barely hear it. It wasn’t until I heard dont look back in anger that I really paid attention. remember the first time i heard it it was a recording of them playing the white room or whatever its called that was played over the bells at new year I think of 94/95 but could have been 95/96 I don’t actually remember. I just remembered being on some real trippy ecstasy called “dollars” coz they had $ sign on em and my pals mrs loved oasis and wanted to see them over the bells w I just remember them being anounced “they may not be bigger the jesus but they’re definitely bigger than the beatles! And me and my pal kinda looked at each other full blown tripping thinking “wtf? DEFINITELY bigger than the goddamn BEATLES?!! Wtf have I been missing here? And Noel came on and sang dont look back in anger and i was blown tf away completely. I didn’t even realise Noel was the usual singer until DLBIA was finished and Liam Swaggered/jumped on and sang roll with it and it didn’t hit me like DLBIA did but i thought “he is one cool looking SOAB!” and i just started paying a bit more attention to em and I started listening to all their albums and loving a shit load-not all but a shit load of their songs and I just grew to love em like however many years after everybody else did.
Great..
he was in the back of my cab he didn't say nothing till i talked to him picked him at recording studios old town clapham took him to chiltern fire house then to bloomfield rd little venice
Nice! Which recording studio is that?

Whatever Blair and New Labour became, that period in the UK was beautiful. The music was brilliant, the telly was good and we had hope. It turned sour but for a brief moment...
Genius. The greatest songwriter this country has ever produced. Bar none !
Lennon, Weller...
@@oliverskorge he would agree. But he was pretty good 🤣
Noel looks like he smells really, really, really good!!!
Why?

Speak to your brother, Noel.
Sound on this is bollocks!
It’s so he don’t get copyrighted
Showing the videos without sound makes it more profound...
I'm not a patriot, but how has Noel not been Knighted
What a legend. Was there at Maine road. Said to my mate before in a bar...”watch this” I was a bit of an unpredictable cooont back then, so my mate was edgy. Stood on a table, screamed “maybe “ and sat down. Place went off like an atomic bomb!!! Bouncer came up, shit ensued. Wouldn’t change it! Fooooookin legends creating memories for us mere mortals. THANK YOU!! Much love ❤️💪🏻😬
Wow what a nutter 😒
Hahahaha madness I'm 99% sure I remember that 😂😂😂
They where looking for a dude with one shoe that matched the shoe they had that was thrown on stage but the guy out thought them. He ditched the other shoe in the can and sauntered past them in his socks with a big smile on his face like “great gig boys! Youse are awesome 👌”
He should have played the gig in Manchester.
Best band in the world, FFS Noel go hug it out with Liam say nothing about the past and move forward. You miss him and he misses you
I have a vídeo that I'm showing (then and now) about Shakermaker videoclip. Some curiosity and especial guess kkkk
6 people look back in anger
i know why, but i lasted 4 minutes before the audio editing made me go to bbciplayer and watch it there, sorry
Edited by Frank Spencer...!
Song at 12:50?
One dislike? I guess Liam's been here. :-)
If anything Liam may feel validated for guessing that Noel has no intentions to rejoin Oasis. I love them both, but had a real pang of sadness when Noel conveyed him & Liam have better success doing music apart. At least now they’ve made peace within themselves there may be hope of the brothers talking again- even if their musical directions differ.
@God Like Genius, thanks mate, cheers 👍
Fucking legend.
What's wrong with the sound on this?
A lot has been cut for copyright reasons. I still don't know how they got around the actual microphone issue or something. Everything seems to be like the original video.
@@opusmagna3346 ^^^^^^
Why does the volume keep dropping off?
I thought this was one of those ‘Star Stories’ comedies. Oh well...
The host sounds exactly like the dwarf/migit/small person from Karl pilkingtons series 3. That's who I was expecting to see after the inro Sorry I do t know what the correct term is.
😂😂😂😂
Warwick Davies I think you’re on about...... the little Dwarfie fella
Was supersonic written about a dog ?
He should have asked him at the end why didn't he perform in Manchester
The only musician that was part of Britpop and looks back fondly on it. Most are embarrassed by it.
He.s bank account helps him look back fondly i would thnk!
Nice interview even though most of the information we already knew, personally always believed he should have played Manchester.
What's the song at 13:04
@dino gallagher tysm
Why does the sound keep cutting out ?
At the time I was trying to upload this, it kept getting copyright striked. So I had to unfortunately edit out a lot of audio (songs from Oasis and other groups mentioned on the video). It was a pain. As a result, the audio cuts out a lot but retains all the video and all talking portions of Noel and Dermot.
This is old interview that’s been edited to death, why copy a full old interview that’s already on KZhead that’s not edited?? Makes no sense...
Totally with. So annoying pss
Yeah someone is trying to make money off this lol 😂
Always wondered if Irish people consider these two to be Irish? Both their parents are Irish so full Irish blud like Steve coogan but do Irish people feel this way?
Both seem like decent fellas. But if I had to have a pint with either one it's Liam. Feel like i'd prefer that conversation.
lol yt muted your version too
No, if you actually watch it. You will see, through editing, everything is still intact. I enjoyed it.
Noel wouldn’t know who sally is as Liam have him that line
MAYBE IT'S JUST ME BUT I PREFER "BE HERE NOW " TO "MORNING GLORY " ANYDAY.
Gets better with age
Maine Road gig was 1996 not 1997
26th of April 1996
Next Johnny Marr
Mentioning rkid is the closest thing
Fckng Legend.Still doesn't give a shit who he offends !
Where's the sound from the top of the pops shows don't tell me they couldn't do it for licensing issues
That's exactly the reason
Shame really would of been a good interview but with all the cutting out it’s unwatchable

"i dont know who sally is" well yeah we know that, because Liam came up with that bit. you'd have to ask the guy who wrote those lyrics who sally was.
I know who she is
@@MoonwalkerWorshiper yeah i do, shes off corrie. but Noel doesnt know that
@@JC-ko1bp WTF is "off corrie"?
@@MoonwalkerWorshiper you clearly dont know who sally is if you have to ask that
@@JC-ko1bp Because you don't explain your interpretation. I said > I < know who she is, not you. She's someone's daughter. I've made a video for it on my channel. Liam made her up on a whim and I put it in a context.
What’s with all the silent spots!
I know was proper confused thought my headphones were fucked
To avoid copyright
What irony or what hypocrisy. He is talking about how a song brings people together. And that same song that he wrote he does not put into practice with his own brother's, you have to set the example. Don’t look back in anger
Is anyone else uncomfortable with how their legs are crossed?
Dermot O'dreary
