Yeah the yugioh was a verrrrrrry big nostalgia rush for me, played competitively since the beginning til gx, wish I still had all of my many many binders of those cards still big big money just gone :’(

Just an FYI, and something interesting to note. Beckett Associates is now known as MJ Holding. One of the largest distributers of Pokemon cards in North America, which distributes cards to places like Target and Walmart. So technically, it's not really a third party pack.

A third party is typically a company that provides an auxiliary product not supplied by the primary manufacturer to the end user (the two principals). Not being a smartass, just putting it out there for anyone curious.
@@shuruff904 A middle man isn't a third party...it's a distributor...that would be almost like calling the Wizards cards third party when they were simply the original Pokémon card distributor in the US and Canada before other groups took over.
@@Solidaritas1 WOTC was a contractor. They made and distributed cards first hand to retailers. They didn't sell them after retail, like a third party.

yooooooooooo happy pre-birthday month, and what another impressive video to start the year. my collector heart goes out to the funny old repackages of "last seasons" cards like these and man its rare to see. but its an even bigger throwback to see some yugioh cards on the channel thats so much fun. i always loved my pokemon and still treasure them but honestly the bulk of my beat up well played card collection was yugioh just because i had older friends that enjoyed that gameplay (to be fair who really ever "played" the pokemon game as a tcg instead of gba :P ) but yeah. thanks ofr the start of the year nostalgia i wasnt expecting :P

Wow, incredible finds here! Both the Yugioh and Pokemon finds. Painful Choice has been banned for years because it become too powerful. Cool pulls! All these are 2002 print runs, making them truly ancient! Also, the silver-lettered cards are "Rares". Plain Holos are "Super Rare".
I never was a fan of card bans. If they made it then it should be fair game
@@corydunaway thing is, the cards are given effects that at the time aren't amazing...but than suddenly players find ways to loop the effect or do stuff that make the card incredibly hard to take care of. With all the graveyard effects in the meta game, choosing 5 cards means no matter what you have something that'll happen

The labyrinth wall you pulled in the last pack of magic ruler is misprinted and doesn't have the code on the bottom left of the card. Never seen that before
It’s not a misprint. Some cards just don’t have the code down the bottom. Serpent Night Dragon and Gate Guardian are some other examples.

I'm italian and i'm a member of the hartsquad since...idk, maybe three of four years? Just love your videos, and see some random italian packs in this one is amazing! I love the fact that italy has pretty much adopted all the english names for the pokemons. Maybe there are some different, but the big ones are the same, for example, Charizard is Charizard, not something like Glurak or Dracaufeu... Also, the pronunciation is similar. Keep going Leonhart, we love you 😉!

I swear on everything I remember seeing these in Walmart in the 90s. I also remember me buying the pokemon specifically. As a kid I definitely remember them being odd when some were in different languages. I also even remember those Yugioh ones too in the same location. They were at a center display with tons of them around. I have a really good memory. So I can even tell you exactly where they were. These also weren't the only way they packaged things they packaged them in bigger and giant sets worth possibly $50? Really nostalgic.
