A few years ago I had the idea to take a look at the DCEU and see how it could’ve fit into the structure of the Infinity Saga which is certainly the gold standard for a cinematic universe, that video was really successful and prompted me to start an entire series of Universe Restructuring videos, as of this video the DCEU has officially ended and all these years later, things have changed, the DCEU has expanded so let’s take it full circle.

I just read a subreddit thread reminding me that one of the reasons why DC (and Fantastic Four) kept falling wasn't just executive meddling but because they didn't have their own independent studio yet like Marvel did. And now they do and I'm excited for the DCU.

You might be right about the DC studio thing but both Fantastic four movies had Fox Studios and the Reboot had Sony Studios . With the fantastic 4stick movie it was just bad acting, bad script, just awful everything.

Because fans don't have to make the actual movie. They are just fantasizing about it. Fantasizing is very easy. Anyone can do it, but if you're doing it in reality, cost will be involve.

@@brian5771costs are not the problem, it’s simply execution. And you can say ideas or fantasizing is easy, but these studios don’t even plan out their films anymore. It’s why James Gunn was so shocking, he gave us an actual plan. lol
@@ETHER3AL2205Exactly. The MCU started back when Marvel was the underdogs and Iron Man was created out of Marvel’s prior bankruptcy and selling of their more popular characters. It started with an idea. It had no choice but to be planned and executed well, otherwise shareholders wouldn’t even consider at the plans for a cinematic universe. An eerily similar situation as DC now.

@@SenzuWrld No, it isn’t but it doesn’t mean that using a plan to trap him in the phantom zone along with the rest of his forces would work.
How about this: Clark covers Zod's eyes with his hands. Zod doesn't have full control of his heat vision yet so he can't actively switch it off. This causes the heat to build up, burning Clark's hands and melting Zod's face, unintentionally killing himself. If you wanna go the Snyder route, the scarred hands of Superman would work well as allegory.
@@gavindennis9988 it’s certainly an interesting take, but I’m not a fan of Superman killing, at all. The Injustice version of Superman really soiled it for me. It just feels wrong and not in Superman’s character to do that. But who am I to judge your perspective, you do you.
@dakotatichelio273 He didn't kill Zod, he covered his eyes to prevent him from killing a family. Zod doesn't stop so he keeps covering them. He doesn't know that this will kill Zod. But either way, he's not the one using heat vision, Zod is. Zod kills himself. All the while Superman is pleading with him to stop.

I love that you just decided to throw in the Arrowverse and make Grant, Stephen and Melissa part of the DCEU, which everyone has basically been wishing since the beginning.

This is still one of my favorite "rewrites" for the DCEU. It would've been SO MUCH more successful if it followed your structure!
James gunn needs to hire you as a director of many dcu projects. You do so well with these videos.

Dude, this was an excellent outline and idea. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but I truly believe that these ideas could have been conceived with competent leadership at DC.
It's incredible how similar but yet distinct this plan feels from the MCU. like the warworld, apokalips stuff are ideas from comics but are ideas that were utalised in the MCU
I hope the new DCU actually has a structure. So far, the projects announced seem random and unconnected, which is what the DCEU did. It doesn't have to follow the MCU outline, but we need some kind of climax that feels earned.
To be fair, the initial MCU seemed random and unconnected, until it was with Avengers. We just gotta give Gunn time to cook, as the internet says, and I am sure he will earn the climax that marvel once did.

These characters are literally the main roster of the avengers, it was already obvious from the start that these will lead to the avengers unless you arent familiar with marvel before Compared to the DCU, how is a swamp thing movie will even fit with Batman and Superman?
@@kungalexander829 captain America was not a member of the original avengers, Antman and the Wasp were. Hawkeye and Black widow also we're not on the original avengers. Marvel chose the characters it had and that they could carry a franchise with, DC is doing the same. All of the characters announced for the DCU at some point have been members of some form of Justice League. Sans the Authority. All it takes is, like the MCU accomplished, for one good film to solidify the teams roster. Five year from now we may guffaw at a JL that doesnt have Swamp Thing or Midnighter or Booster Gold, just as we would an avengers that doesn't include Hawkeye or Captain America, the MCU popularized this incarnation. It was able to do that because it put out quality films that connected in a grand event, just let the universe simmer before you throw it in the trash. Then feel free to tear it apart if it comes out and sucks :)
From what Gunn has described, each Phase will basically be its own story, so I think it is going somewhere but in a film that just hasn't been announced yet.

I’m only 8 minutes into this and I already wish we were living in a world with a DCEU like this especially when this would have Grant as Flash (edit: though I do wish he had a trilogy) and a more hopeful and inspiring Superman
Yes! I've been saying this for a long time! Imagine if the studio didn't rush anything, and let all the Justice League's members get their own solo movie, except for The Cyborg which is the heart and soul for the Justice League. Imagine that dark and gritty universe arise!

Man this is very well done as usual Here are some changes I would do : Movies - The Omegamens in place of gotg - The atom(ryan cho) in place of antman obviously - Aquaman would take the place of black panther - Firestorm(Ronnie & jason) would be spiderman - Green lantern in place of captain marvel For the netflix shows - Nightwing (daredevil) - Katana(Jessica jones) - Black ligtning(Luke cage) - Geoforce(iron fist) - The outsiders (defenders) - Vigilante (punisher) Others : - Gen 13(the runaways)

As a fan of both Marvel and DC. This was really good! It was similar and inspired by the MCU but was also different in its own way! However, I am surprised that you didn't even mention the Teen Titans, I feel like they are important enough to be added in this Saga
I would've loved to include them but the DCEU didn't have a Titans franchise. They can kinda be equivalents to the X-Men. Maybe we'll see them later in the universe.

@@TheBlackLion001I love that the DCEU failed spectacularly from the start because it goes against the get woke go broke crowd. This was marketed TO EDGELORDS and they're even more unmarketable than the woke crowd. James Gunn isn't going to be different.
The teen titans will be a live action series like Marvel's the Runaways Not really a huge part of the main plot of the infinity saga

This list was freaking amazing… You did a great job and I loved the movies you described and placed. The only thing I would change is maybe trying to add a 1 or 2 Season Teen Titans show that crossed over with Doom portal the first season focusing on Starfire and her origins and the second dealing with a minor Trigon Invasion or reference possibly focusing on Raven’s six brother. I would mostly place this before and after the first Justice league movie, or maybe even after Legion of Doom
This was amazing! This shows how much better the DCEU could've been if it actually took what the MCU did & loosely copy that! If I were to make one change, it would be that in Superman: Warworld, Superman would beat Mongol but he wouldn't except defeat & would reveal Warworld's champion is Doomsday & have him fight Superman, but overall good job!

some of this is incredible- dare i say peak. At first i wasnt rocking with it because it felt rushed and too fan service-y, but not only is that truly what i'd like deep down, this feels better than both the current MCU and the DCEU.

I just want a WWII movie with the JSA. I need that classic Jay Garrick on screen. The spot light is always on Barry and sometimes Wally in these movies and shows. Never on a classic Garrick, and since he's one of the slower Flash's, he could easily fit in a team up movie.
This sounds like a genuinely great cinematic universe!

Just the idea of having Red Hood appear makes this 10000× times better in my book
This is what we deserve. This is all what DC fans were waiting for all the comics and animations fans who've been waiting for DCEU movies this is how it should be. If WB really wanted to catch up with marvel this how they should do it too

Would love to see a follow up video that continues the universe. There’s already seeds planted for future storylines that could parallel the current MCU saga. Wally being the Rhodey equivalent and goes on to fight in Armor Wars or this case Rogue War or Speedster Wars. Red Hood and Nightwing can be Winter Soldier and Falcon with a spinoff show setting up a Battle for the Cowl film. Keep up the great work!!
I would add just one more movie, simply because you mentioned the part about someone rising to the role of Batman after his death. It would be a story of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake trying to figure out which among them should be the new Batman, but they end up taking a page out of the Gotham Knights game where in the end, they realize they don't need to be Batman, the Bat family is the replacement as they reach "Knighthood". The movie would be called "The Robins" and I'd put it after Shazam Wrath of Black Adam, making this universe bookended with Batman movies, while still leaving room for more stories to be told
Awesome work. I am getting more and more surprised, that fans can do works much cooler than original. But there is only one thing I disagree with a little. I would have placed Teen Titans instead of Suicide squad

You changed the whole point of Blue Beetle. The whole message of the movie is that his family makes him strong and since his family helps out a lot that's what makes the movie less generic.

Flash deserved to have more movies, same with Batman.
the only thing i would add is maybe green lantern as a guardians type role. it's important to have a space series when so many movies have to do with aliens.

Dr Fate teleporting a hand full of heroes to the tower of fate reminds me of how in the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths, Pariah sends the Paragons to the Vanishing point. Grant being the Flash, I would watch that and also Barry getting the "Flash Missing Vanishes in Crisis" moment is amazing, although we don't get to see the full CW Star Labs team, Dr Stone is good as Victor is a big player in JL, also I think he's the equvilant to Jefferson Jaxson's Firestorm. Although I think if this was a reality, I think we would get a Crisis on Infinite Earths Movie with this Version of the DCEU's Wally meeting Arrowverse Barry, calling him Uncle and Arrowverse Barry getting his "Flash Missing Vanishes in Crisis" like how JWS's 90s Flash got his on the cosmic treadmill
Damn I’ve been thinking of my own DC rewrite for years now but this covered a ton of the same ideas I had and even surpassed them. The only change I think I’d make is making the first Batman film more centered around the Death in the Family storyline with the addition of Harley, especially with the sequels specifically following up on that plotline in particular. And doing this I think would allow for Harley to get arrested and moved into the Suicide Squad much sooner if teased through a post credits scene. But other than that film I think the rest is perfect.

Rather than not having a movie that sets up the trinity, I'd have a 3-episode miniseries called Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman: Trinity. I'd also have The Batman Part 4 which introduces Damian Wayne and a Superman: Legacy film which introduces Jon Kent and also a Super Sons movie

Good slate, but I feel like the equivalent to GoTG in DC would be the Green Lantern Corps. The Suicide Squad is more like the Thunderbolts

You'd have to be crazy to think that marvel didnt want to make more iron mans. RDJ said he was done with iron man after the 3rd one, but he had something in the contract saying he would have to be iron man if it wasnt a stand alone movie, knowing they were going to create the MCU going forward.
I would really like to see a sequel to this video with dc next saga being multiverse saga like mcu. You could do a crime syndicate vs justice league movie and explore earth 3. And follow a lot of different universes. Maybe have a multiverse of madness type movie but with Constantine. The main villain would of course be anti monitor and it would all culminate in crisis on infinite earth's part 1 and 2 taking place of secret wars and Kang dynasty.

Damn, like Forget James Gunn, YOU should be writing the new DCEU but I would use Red Hood a lot more, he would be as popular as Bucky is so giving him a spinoff movie or show with him forming and leading his OUTLAWS makes sense. That's where you can introduce Arsenal, Starfire, Crux, Artemis ( yes, killing her off was dumb of you ), Rose Wilson/Ravager and another Bizarro clone, one that Jason would "cobtrol," so to speak. Also, Best to let him take the gun from Bruce after Bruce misses or hesitates and let him Jason kill Darkseid. Bruce can still die though, setting up Nightwing's ascension to the cowl. Doing this would keep the precious "Batman doesn't kill or use Guns" nonsense, plus gives Jason some shine, since he'll be known as the guy who killed Darkseid.
