This is probably one of the best reviews that I’ve even seen by IGN we NEED more of this that builds anticipation for games.
It is overwhelmingly amazing, the game told the story without making it so linear or "spoon-feeding" the right amount of immersive combat, drama, and puzzles is absolutely blew my head off the roof, expectation met and exceeded. A million out of 10 amazing, well done Santa Monica the 4 years really is worth it
It also has an open world but not super bloated and overwhelming like a lot of games now

Playstation takes thier first party stuff to the next level. Dropping Ragnarok and forbidden West in one year is an insane undertaking, and having them both be so massive and detailed. It's insane, they keep the bar so high, noone puts out quality like this, at this pace.
Literally the biggest complaint about both the horizon games are that they were released just before an insanely anticipated game of a large franchise, that tells you something.

This game deserves to be the GOTY. I'm awestruck with the game mechanics and scenic beauty and well written story. Wish other games could also be like this.

You lose a significant amount of engagement and immersion forcing people to put what the story may be together through one sentence of an item description every now and again. Some people may like it but it's definitely not game of the year material

Copying Dark Souls into an open world, adding jumping and saying a famous author made it just won't cut it against Ragnaroks storytelling and improvements to combat. Performance alone shows you the quality difference between the two games. Elden Ring can't even load in some grass without it dropping to 15fps while Ragnarok runs at 120fps with completely stunning graphics.

A fitting verdict for the efforts Santa Monica has put in, listening to their fans from the previous installment. I'm excited to play it even moreso now after this review.
my only issue is that some of the fights in cutscenes should be interactive and have seamless scenes where if you fail to press the buttons in that manner. Something like in Insomniac's Spider-Man games

Although a 10 for this game is the only logical option considering everything, however this review felt like a sales pitch rather than a review.
8:35 small detail but they made it so when you call the axe you can still dodge after and the axe will follow your path which wasn’t possible in the original, used to hate this as it breaks your momentum. This sky rocketed way above expectations props to the devs
When a studio of devs actually put in their passion to create a game. Money comes second, passion comes first. Games from these types of devs always come out amazing.

Game/Design-wise Ragnarok was fantastic! Ragnarok event was pretty underwhelming tho, considering 'Ragnarok' is in the title... Beautiful Character moments & gameplay though, so I'm happy. :) (Your companions giving away puzzles was a constant issue tho)
