A Trippy Vortex animated interpretation of Pink Floyd's song "Sheep".
Acting as Pink Floyd’s message to their fans, “Sheep,” initially entitled “Raving and Drooling,” continues the theme developed in the album. Lyrically, “Sheep” describes a circumstance where people follow an ideology without knowing the reason.
Similarly, in Animal Farm, the novella that inspired the album, the sheep were the animals that would burst blindly into a chant of “Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad.” They did as they were told without any hesitation-they went along with the ideals of the rest of the sheep and the majority of the animals. This theme evidences itself through the lyrics of the song where the sheep follow the rules set for them.

  • "Animals" is probably my favorite Pink Floyd album. But, my favorite may be "Meddle"... Or "Obscured by Clouds"... Or possibly "A Saucerful of Secrets". I'm not. It's one of those.

  • No one ever will come anywhere close to what Pink Floyd has been in the music world. They were so much more than musicians. I’d say they were visionary, creative, politically and socially conscious. Animal was one of their best work ever but not the end of Pink Floyd Thanks for taking me onto the memory lane

  • Been listening to Pink Floyd since the 70's .....Sheep is one of my favorite songs on the Animals album.....loved tripping off on it....if there was AI and a video like this for the song back then , it would have blown a lot of minds...including mine.....awesome.

  • Pink Floyd is one of my all-time favorite bands and animals was probably their greatest album in my opinion. Somehow the words just resonated with me and brought back memories I didn't know I had. I particularly like the track dogs, because it reminds me of my first pet. She was a boxer named Carolina that was sweet and kind and would let all the neighborhood kids jump on her pull her ears do anything they want and she never complained. However, Lord help anybody who was a grown up and tried to approach all of us kids, because she would become fierce and would not let them come close.

  • This is one of your best yet. It really felt like Floyd artwork in motion, for the most part. Why the idea of wolves riding motorbikes? Awesome imagery all around. One of my favorite shots is at 7:34. So, how long did this one take to setup? I forgot, are you using Midjourney? Does the program create the video format or just a ton of single shots that need to be joined together for the whole experience? Hopefully the former, otherwise that would be quite the job in editing.

    • Thank you kindly! The inspiration for the werewolves came to me with the lyric; "things are not what they seem". It made me think of the old saying, "a wolf in sheep's clothing". Then paired with the lyric; "you better watch out, there may be dogs about", Gave me the idea of a hells-angel type of werewolf wreaking havoc on the roadways, like "WATCH OUT FOR THAT CRAZY S.O.B!!" It took me over 3 weeks to complete it, but somewhere between 30 - 50 hours of active labor was spent.

    • I'd agree but I don't think it had as good a grasp of the meaning of the song, it should have been a lot darker it is about sheep being led to slaughter after all. I imagined something completely different for "Meek and obedient you follow the leader down well-trodden corridors into the valley of steel" same with "Wave upon wave of demented avengers March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream".

Curious you said that because Syd managed to create music in a chaotic way yet strangely (as his band mates recall from working on his solo albums) his music arrived in the most perfect ordered ending. Then, there's the question of whether everything happens to a preordained plan? Are we the disciples of some cosmic order and creator (bigger than us and beyond our comprehension) OR are we living in a universe we write ourselves? Is music a way to tap into the very essence of that reality or unreality? Or are we just up our own arses LOL? David

The way the universe is so fine tuned and how mind blowing it is to think about how many cosmic occurrences that HAD to have happened to facilitate this extended period of climate stability.   • High end Stereo Receivers/Amps when PF made their Albums always had VU meters on them. What made us so enthralled with the music was their "white noise" in their recordings. Even in the quiet moments those VU meters would be pounding! Loved it then and still do.

  • I grew up on Floyd & your animation sends me spinning back to my crazy happy irresponsible psychedelic days in the 70's when posters on the wall came to life & Bambi walked out of the picture leaving Thumper under a tree. Houses were made of marshmallow & walls breathed in & out. Thank you for this particular piece of art, makes me feel even more glad I've been vegan for decades.

    • Dogs and Echoes are my top 2 floyd tracks. Why? If you look at the album credits, all the music on both the albums Animals amd Meddle is self made in the band without outside help. I feel this is listening to pure Pink Floyd. Solely their vision. Thank you for this wonderful visual and I can tell improved audio track
