Our microbiology classes were really basic and we mostly practiced cell extraction from plants. We used tulips and unions and beans for our microbiology practicals. Never did anything as exciting as studying actual micro organisms.

  • More useful than the magnification numbers may be a scale that shows you how big x micrometers is, or perhaps both would be good, I’m not sure, just a suggestion

    @marccowan3585@marccowan35854 жыл бұрын
    • Totally agreed. Also .... I watch KZhead on my phone but also on my 60" TV, so when it says 400x, without a scale on screen, I have no way to tell what 400x is reference to.

  • You mention that you always display the magnification, but I still have no idea how big/small these things are. Are you always showing the full view of the camera? Would it be possible to upload a clip with scale bars for the different magnifications? Or at least say what the size of the field of view is?

Then just this morning I read James Blish’s short story, “Surface Tension” (1952), and it brought me right back here! (You can find “Surface Tension” in “The Big Book of Science Fiction,” ed. Ann & Jeff VanderMeer.)
