The Masterman challenges in BF1 really were a great follow up to the Phantom Program. They really gave this sense of mystery while you were completing them (with most of them being references to WW1 myths of secret experiments and mysterious creatures in the trenches), and even the rewards were pretty sweet (some tags, a few special weapon skins and a unique custom Colt Peacemaker that wasn't OP but still pretty good). Shame that BFV was such a massive clusterfuck that the devs literally didn't have time or resources to put a similar hunt in that game. There are potential references in both the base game and Firestorm, but nothing ever came from it due to the base game needing all the attention they could give it and Firestorm dying in it's infancy.
Agreed. Was really fun in bf4 and I thought it was pretty rewarding. It was nice to take some time away from serious ptfo every now n then just to do the phantom program. For me anyways it added that break up in the game to keep me playing the game. Only thing that pissed me off(and I know a lot of people were too) was they gave the phantom bow away for free lol.
@@Moonhermit- I did some of the masterman challenges in bf1 and thought they were fun. But I think the whole thing that turned me off was the dlc wait,etc and how they were doing dlc. And in order to do the challenges you needed the dlc, and just waiting turned me away from the game. Was fun I thought, but didn't have the touch that the phantom program had to me

I actually remember all of them but still, it was cool to see them again! Back in BF3/4 times I would watch easter eggs videos and then go look for them to see with my own eyes. I actually menaged to find all the 6 dinosaurs in BF3 Wake Island on my own (Spent a whole afternoon doing that)

The American Dream was definitely my favorite easter egg, I remember when you and the Squad Up crew first discovered it, those videos were some of the most entertaining to watch! I hope we can get some classic Jack, Level, Mat, Xfactor, and Jet Squad Up videos when 2042 rolls around, even if just occasionally. I know some of those guys have different things going on in their lives, but would really love to hear the OG crew one more time.

Might be one of the rarest collectibles outside of the Dice LA camo in BF4 and other limited time/exclusives. Luckily I'd done the grind & got it & it's super satisfying! 😍💀

I bet none of you know about this but in BF3 on the Alborz Mountain DLC map at the US starting base if you go the the frozen lake behind the base you can hear some strange lazer rifle shooting sounds, like the ones used in the Star Wars universe

Out of the hundreds of hours I have played these games, I only knew about half of these Easter eggs. Also.... "Jack acting like" he doesn't include an Easter egg in every youtube video.
My favorite is for sure the Babel tower of BFV.. it was incredibly challenging, almost impossible, but team effort result as a maximum of joy to share at the end !! One of my best experience in video games.
I like the easter egg on Dragon Valley in BF 4. It's so incredibly complicated and you can't just copy paste the solution.

It wasn't a Battlefield Game per say, Dice helped another Studio which you can tell by the non-Battlefield aiming and shooting mechanics being different from every battlefield game.
The first easter egg that I ever tried was the DICE cammo one in bf4, and even though I never finished it I loved the experience. It's a great balance between mystical and cryptic like the phantom program but also has some funny moments in it reminding me more of the light-hearted easter eggs. I didn't get this at the time, but I have really grown to appreciate that one.
Easter eggs are what let me to your vids back in the day! Good little blast from the past!

it wouldn't (or shouldnt) be 2143 because of the fact the expansion "Northern Strike" for BF2142 is set in 2145

Battlefield 1942 had maps that took place in more than just 1942, and they still made 1943. The last DLC for BF4 had maps taking place during the events and research leading up to 2142 but we're still getting 2042 that takes place before it.
@@megamaggotmrh9085 Umm... no. The Final Stand maps indeed contained early versions of Battlefield 2142 tech, like the Titan, but it was set in the same time frame as the rest of BF4.
Battlefield 1942 had maps going all the way to 1945 and there was still a Battlefield 1943

Hardline was massively underrated, had some of the best map design and the TTK was amazing... Sick of the slow TTK's now, BF2042 best be fast paced.
Hardline’s DLC map design remains the best in the series IMO, never got to see much like it before or after

The drivable couch reminded me of a mod I tried to make with Battlerfield 2. I wanted to make a drivable wheelbarrow where one person sits in the tray while the other pushes the vehicle. Sadly, the mod idea didn't worked out because after some intense preparation to learn how to mod stuff I discovered that my card isn't compatible with the modding process.
The effort behind these Easter eggs is unparalleled 👍
The Megalodon EE was always my favorite. It took so long to figure out, but it was so cool to see it happen!

@@troeteimarsch Yeah, it was the custom silver inlaid Colt Single Action Army with ivory grips that you could get after completing all of the Masterman puzzles and easter eggs in BF1. It has a slow reload, but it's TTK is closer to the Obrez than any of the other sidearms, high hip fire accuracy and holding down fire while hipfiring made your character fan the hammer for a fast rate of fire. On top of that, your character performs tricks with it while holding it for extra style points. For me, it was definitely a useful and worthy reward (alongside the other skins and dogtags you picked up throughout the journey) while not being overpowered (since it's still a sidearm and had a very slow reload).

honestly nothing will ever beat the phantom program for me. the pure excitement and unity (for the most part) that brought the community together was just astounding. getting down the elevator and finally getting into the room was truly a remarkable experience after grinding for everything to get there.

on twisted steel you can also take the german jeep, and there's a small jump, if you do it, it does explosions Evel kinevel style. It's fun to do it during matches.

The second Easter Egg was so known in EU that everytime you played on that map, someone activated that ship explosion.
Favourite one was the Giant puzzle to get the specific skin that you had to do on an empty server and solve yourself and took like hours to do. Crazy complicated but with it for such a limited skin.

I forgot the name of the map, but the one where you'd fly around blaring ''Flight of the Valkyrie's" from the helicopter was one of my all time favorites!!
The Phantom Bow was probably 'the' easteregg in my opinion. Collecting the tags. Getting in that elavator and hoping I had the right camo. Then the music score when you entered the code and the grid disappeared. Will always be the greatest moment I had in BF 4 :)
The Phantom Program was more of an ARG, but god damn did I love it.. The feeling once it was finally solved, going into that room and picking up the bow only for the BF4 theme to start playing was just so good
