  • I have been searching for God since I was a little girl. Took myself to church when I was old enough to go out by myself. After a lifetime of searching and not finding, I gave up and declared myself an atheist about 16 years ago. But here I am still searching and every time I see one of Swami Mukundananda's I see a ray of light. And this video and the one about meditating on God just may be the clincher for me! I feel so happy listening to Swami. So inspired. Thank you Swami!

    • There is only one God, our different understanding levels is the cause of us being divided into different religions,. God is very Merciful, He tries to give us all knowledge of Himself. It all depends on us, how much we want to know about God, it is how much attention we give to anything that will determine our progress & successes. So firstly we must have faith & learn to surrender to God through knowledge of Him., Gods Greatness is Such, we should never ever think we know enough about Him or His Grories. We must continuously preserve on the Spiritual Path.. Devotion to God must become a part of one's life.. God is Eternal & Very Powerful, We are not here to try & own God, we are here to Seek Him... Love & become devoted to Our Eternal Creator.

    • I share about God and Jesus. John 4: 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 7: 37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Jesus: John 14: 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. Jesus: John 8: 29 And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” John 8: 12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

He is so far from us that no body can reach Him and also so close to us that there is not a hair's breath of difference between Him and us.He is harder than the hardest and also softer than the flower. He is watching and knowing everyone,everything and every moment .How strange it is !!!

  • Just wandering - Is it really possible to understand God for the human intellect. Our ego and pride comes in the way of just accepting what Vedas say about God. Probably Bhakti is an easier path for us humans than trying to comprehend conceptual knowledge - especially the so called logical thinkers. No wonder - love is the basis of civilizations; the entire design of the creation is to help us to learn to love and sacrifice for the other.

    • So true... All scriptures are just hymns, precepts, teachings.... This swamiji mystifies too much the Vedas, like Christians the Bible, and Muslims Koran....They are just human words expressing intuitions, visions, teachings... And the main quality needed to get the Jnana is Love, bhakti... This swamiji is a bit already in a pretensious way of speaking and teaching...

      @petrustella@petrustella2 жыл бұрын
  • It is unfortunate that Swamiji never explained what God, finally, is. Whatever God is, it must be non-negatable (or non-contradictory meaning it must be independent of human conception or it must be unknowable to mind as an object and yet all of us must agree on it) and non-reducible (non-decayable meaning non-changing and ever-present). That is the criterion. And if we analyze it, we find that God is Existence (Is-ness/Being) and Consciousness (Awareness/Knowing). Because No-Existence and No-Consciousness are illogical/absurd/impossible concepts. No-Existence is simply the existence of the absence of Existence. Likewise, there is no such thing as No-Consciousness because No-Consciousness can be said to exist only if some Consciousness other than it exists to know it. Things may come into Existence and may go out of Existence, but Existence always IS. Is-ness always IS (Existence, like energy, is neither created nor destroyed) . All of us can say, "I know I exist." Existence must be Self-Knowing for if it is known by something other than itself, then it becomes relative and dependent and not agreeable to all. So, Existence-Consciousness is one and the same. If you are conscious, you must exist. If you exist, you must be conscious. But, then, how do we know that Existence-Consciousness is the "One-And-Only?" Limitlessness aspect of Existence-Consciousness supplies that answer. It is "One-And-Only" because Limitlessness in time, space and object-ness means it is eternal, all-pervading and there is no "second" other than itself which must be the source of Happiness/Peace/Love/Aananda because there cannot be any fear as there is no second. Unlimitedness in object-ness actually implies that there is nothing in the cosmos which is different from it (=Non-Dual). Knowing of your own Being is, obviously, Loving because there is no 'other.' Therefore, God is: Existence-Consciousness-Limitlessness or Being-Knowing-Loving! That is what God-The Reality is! As Swamiji said, God is the smallest of the small and yet the biggest of the big. True. God is zero and God is infinity. But, God is also zero and infinity simultaneously! Think of moving at infinite speed around the globe. You come to the same location in zero time. Life/God is paradoxical. Think/Inquire to understand/resolve the paradox. That's the clue to realize God! Thank you!

  • Wow Swamiji you really cleared up my mind about Hinduism's true understanding of God. Now I have no doubt that hinduism was a true religion revealed by the one true God because that's exactly how we Muslims believe Allah to be. Here's the translation of the most famous verse of Qur'an we recite daily before sleeping. Its called Ayat Al Kursi: Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

  • This person is a genius. He gives a very nice description of God. He clarifies all misconceptions. He is devotee and very learned as well. Worth listening to. He is not a cheater like so many who twist the real meaning of verses from scriptures.

    • @@kgupta2205 nobody can say a person he/she is enlightened or not. It's a process of mind development. Getting the experience/feel of spiritual intuitions is also a part of enlightenment. If a person gets spiritual intuitions throughout the life, that experience is the best experience. That itself is enlightenment. Getting connected with the God/creation.

  • I enjoyed your enlightening lecture. Please explain why God is represented by idols which resemble human form. Why worship idols when the eternal path shows you the way.

    @saalehavadachia3900@saalehavadachia39002 жыл бұрын
    • Because that's what is mentioned in the Vedic scriptures - the Supreme Lord has a human like form. But we need to keep in our mind that His form is Divine, i.e., God Himself becomes His form, unlike ourselves where our body is different from our soul. Also, our mind needs a basis to develop love for God. Since God pervades the entire creation, He is also sitting in the 'idol' or murti - this provides a basis for a beginner spiritual aspirant to develop divine sentiments towards God and helps develop love for God. For more advanced sadhaks (spiritual aspirants), they create the divine form of the Lord in their mind to meditate on. But initially, the 'idols' (murti) and images of the personal form of God (Shri Krishna, Shri Ram) helps a sadhak to begin his spiritual journey.

  • In this mind-blowing lecture, Swamiji says that the Vedas are eternal and apauruṣhēya, i.e., not created by a human being. They are the eternal knowledge of God. These scriptures were initially revealed in the heart of the first born Brahma and transmitted from Guru to disciple through oral-auditory transmission (Shruti). What an amazing description of God described by Swamiji as noted in the Vedas and all the contradictory qualities! Wow, thank you, Swamiji for this divine knowledge.
