Thank you for posting this video! I want to make painted skulls, and tried using the subtractive method with wood, but I'm really not familiar with carving and gave up after a failed attempt. Using Sculpey looks MUCH easier and I'm looking forward to trying it!:)

This is fantastic work! I watch at least one of your videos every single day. I'm new to all of this so I have a few questions...I apologize if they are stupid questions: Do you bake the sculpey before you paint it? Or, do you just keep it malleable? Does sculpey dry over time if you don't bake it? Very curious about that part of the process. GREAT work and thank you! :D
So happy to have you here, and don't you ever worry about asking questions! I bake the sculpey for about 10-15 minutes, and let it cool down before painting with acrylic :)

I'm trying to learn as much as I can because in the last year or so, I've become obsessed with paper mache, puppet-making, and stop motion and I'm currently working on two projects and have the groundwork for a third. That said, I haven't worked with Sculpey or any kind of clay yet, but I'm planning on trying my first sculpey project in the next two weeks. I just need to learn more about working with clay. I've seen you mix two different kinds or just work with one, and I wish I could work with you for a day so I could understand why and how you choose what you work with. It's just fascinating to me. Again, thank you for responding! Can't wait to see more! :D
