“Те, що ми зараз чуємо, це досить небезпечно”: як росіяни стирають у попіл Авдіївку / hromadske
Волонтер Олексій Савкевич їде вулицею Гагаріна - однією з центральних в Авдіївці. Хоч вона й відома як «Алея муралів», нині - більше нагадує алею згарищ. На стінах тепер уже зруйнованих п’ятиповерхівок відомі українські художники до вторгнення створили серію муралів. Першим був «Ріка життя» Олександра Брітцева. Цієї миті п’ятиповерхівка, на якій намальований мурал, хоч і з вибитими шибками й потрощеними балконами, все ще ціла. Це було вдень 28 квітня, коли ми знімали це відео. Через кілька годин - уже ввечері - у неї влучить російська ракета. Центральна частина будинку обвалиться, а мурал обгорить із лівого боку.
Це - весна 2023 року в Авдіївці, місті, що стрімко зникає.
Російські міни й ракети щодня стирають Авдіївку в попіл. Авдіївка, розташована поруч із Мар’їнкою, Бахмутом, Сєвєродонецьком, Маріуполем, перетворюється на ще одне українське місто, якого не стає. Ми попросили волонтера з Авдіївки Олексія Савкевича, лікаря Віталія Ситника та поліціянта Максима «Лютого» показати, як на їхніх очах зникає Авдіївка, та розповісти, як це - втрачати рідне місто.

Знаючи,што таке е украинска влада,я розумию цих литьних людей,бо кошты яки выделяють на переселенцев,раскрадають мисцевы чиновники,це як резьниковськи яйця по 17. Пид час вийны влада Украины, антиукраинска и мародерська.
Звісно потрібно, інше питання що їх там чекає. Якби влада організувала нормальні умови для переселенців, тоді наоборот, потрібно навіть закон прийнятий, який би зобов'язав їх виїхати, тому що вони банально заважають роботі наших військових, росіяни потім ними будуть прикриватись

very impressive video of hromadske, to see how strong these normal ordinary people are facing their actual day by day life, helping each other as far as possible, not giving up, doing their job as a haircutter, doctor,volunteer etc. It is pretty sad that it needs obviously a war to emphasize the real good sides of human kind, especially in the western world, I guess.God bless the brave ucrainian people !

Such brave, beautiful people. We Americans can learn much from the people of Ukraine. I love the lady in the Day Shelter who can color hair and says she takes care of the people and thro dogs, cats too I'm sure. The compassion of the Ukrainian people towards God's innocent creatures is what made me fall in love with them from the start. Their compassion for helping any living being is their true nature. It's impossible not to love these people. My heart literally hurts for what has been done to them. I have read many articles about the plans to rebuild the cities. Using seized assets from Russian "businessmen" (Ha!) who've been sanctioned. I have no doubt that the people in the free, moral world are going to be clamoring to go to Ukraine and help them rebuild EVERYTHING, homes, schools, hospitals, churches, etc. I want the people of Ukraine to know that they have MANY people standing with and supporting them. This war isn't just about Ukraine, it's about Putin's paranoia and greed. He's terrified of NATO expansions and he thinks America and the West is out to get him. Well, we weren't before but we sure are now. "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean we're not after you, Putin." Be afraid. Be very afraid, Putler. We love our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and will cheer loudly with you as you claim your victory over wickedness. The Lord is with you and will reward you for your strong faith. Slava Ukraine! Thank you for making these videos available with English subtitles. It’s the only way we get to see what it’s like for ordinary people living through this war. They’re all so stoic. You see the suffering in their faces but no one complained. It seems to be a Ukrainian thing. But there is so much destruction and the war keeps going for no obvious reason.

What hit me the most in this report is how selfless the hospital staff are, as they could easily leave, but choose to stay for the civilians in the area

Some doctors and nurses left the country,or the workplace nearby the frontline. Hospitals are understaffed there and medics are often not really nurses but civillians who learned the important things in a crash course. It's not everything "heroic" in Ukraine,people are humans with anxiety and are also selfish.

When Ukraine wins, the battered towns and villages will be rebuilt. People will come from all over the world to help. Not everyone can fight, but many people have skills to help rebuild. After WWII, Europe was rebuilt. It was hard to imagine London ever getting through it, where my father lived during the war, but they did. And you will as well. The people here are amazing. Thank you for this beautiful reporting.
