We Caught a SEA MONSTER!!

In this episode of BlacktipH, Capt. Jason Boyll and myself catch a sea monster from the depths, a giant Warsaw Grouper, one of the rarest deep water groupers in Florida. This mysterious grouper species lives in very deep water and can grow larger than 500lbs! We found this grouper at a legendary place in the Gulf of Mexico called Pulley Ridge. Over the past three years, Jason and I traveled more than 1000 nautical miles to find one of these giants in the Gulf of Mexico. The grouper in this video was so massive that four grown men struggled to lift it!

    @michaeljmccurdy9449@michaeljmccurdy94492 жыл бұрын
    • To see underwater footage of a fish that big you would have to be licensed to dive with nitrox. Because that deep is at minimum 400 feet and that deep you cannot breathe normal air. And to decompress coming back to regular air is a long involved process. You have to be very careful when decompressing because nitrogen narcosis is at the least very painful, and can even cause death. By diving that deep you put yourself at risk of many things and can even die, if there is negligence or anything wrong with equipment.

Red Lobster got wind of the catch and paid 3.50$/lb. Not a bad day on the water😃😃😃. Awesome catch and video guys!!!! Looking forward to seeing more!!

      @ceder4696@ceder46962 жыл бұрын
    • @@nathanc9866 Some recreational fisherman do as well. More people than you think will catch a fish they know for a fact is too small (or maybe they somehow don't know any laws around fishing aside how to acquire a permit) and they'll just throw it in the bucket, and sadly most people around don't notice and the few who do may not care to look for a wildlife officer, or maybe there just isn't one there at the time. Either way a combination of nets and other mass fishing methods by the commercial industry, as well as normal idiots who dont mind keeping an 8 inch fluke or baby stripped bass or whatever. Ofc now you fast foward and suddenly everything is much harder to catch, if your lucky the area will at least be highly populated with junkfish which can at least be fun to catch.

    • There was no risk. The rod had a bent stock that fitted into a rod holder. The very act of dragging up such a fish with no risk from those on the boat was an act of extreme cowardice. These guys should be ashamed of what they did but I am sure they are too ignorant to realise it. They turned my stomach.

    • @Agapito Reyes So your not aware that the US has strict laws on the number and species you are allowed to keep? Biologist set these limits to ensure the long term survival of the fishery. Also how many people do you think can afford to travel 140 miles out and have the gear necessary to land one of those monsters. NOT ALOT. At the depth those fish live very few are actually harvested and many more than that die from natural causes. I catch and release almost every fish I land but I have no issue with a person harvesting what they catch as long as its within the limits. You maybe watching the wrong videos if your against killing any animals.
