  • The exit reviews are so much more valuable than people gushing over stuff because it's much more realistic. Both this and your logitech GPX exit review are great. Perhaps consider doing teardowns and internal shots for future reviews because that too brings a lot of value. Sensor implementation, PCB layout, button style, internal cage design all very different between manufacturers.

  • I love this mouse, I have a lot of nostalgia of using the EC2 tho. I wish it had the colored VAXEE coating bec of how often I need to clean it. I think the lower sensor placement feels good for vertical flicks but it might be a bit worse for horizontal tracking (could just be me being crazy tho). Btw have you tried the VAXEE NP-01? Definitely my favorite VAXEE shape and a top 5 performer for me. The Outset is unfortunately too big and high profile/wide at the back for me. Love the long term reviews they seem a lot more genuine than the usual flavor of the month hype reviews.

  • I found the exact same problem with the EC2 about having the sensor tilted. Wall of text coming. Please excuse ;) My two mains are the Aria XD7 and the Phylina S450 (basically an HTS+). I used to love the Aria until I fixed my posture. Had my forearm flat on the mousepad and rolled my shoulders forward. Right now I’m almost used to having my shoulders blades pinched which leads to a different forearm position. They’re now naturally pronated at around 30 degree angle (thumb fleshy part up). The gripe with the Phylina is that it feels too unsupportive, there’s too much free space between inner side of my knuckles and the shell. I can get the mouse to be more forward but it just doesn’t feel natural that way anymore. Phylina is very nice in terms of contact with the base of palm and I get a lot of stability from that. It just feels like a very balanced setup between being “on top of the mouse” vs. letting the mouse be in your fingertips. I have around 100$ to spend on something to add to the collection. Would you say going AX Wireless is a reasonable move having the context above?

    • If I'm understanding your comment correctly (need more volume under the knuckles, tilted grip) then the Outset seems to be a good fit. It sounds like you tend to pull the mouse into the base of your palm, so you may feel the Outset is noticeably wider at the back than the HTS+ is due to the flare on the rear left of the Outset. That would be my main caution.

    • @@Talynen cheers. decided to try out the Outset AX since it’s such a fun and unique shape. The flare could be a problem indeed. We’ll see and I’ll let you know. Could’ve gone for an Xlite v3, but I’m biased towards Vaxee :D Also considered Thorn, but it seems to aggravate the rear left flare issue you’ve mentioned even more. But I still feel the AX should fit well. I have a history of using larger mice before (G403, EC1, MX518, Rival 300) and my hands are 18.75x9.75 so I’m pointed towards the experiment working out well. Thanks for an awesome review. This is the shape content we need :P

    • just got the outset myself and really like the width in the back of my palm, also it support front 2 knuckles really well. Only thing i need to get used to is the thumb curve since i feel like it sits in the wrong place for me (could be placebo). I used to main the GPX before this and always felt it was too low and narrow.@@owlfury-beast
