    • I’ve not been playing poker for too long, but I just encountered my first straight flush today online. I had K8 of spades in big blind, opponent limps and I raise, get called... Flop comes 7d 4s 2s. I’m out of position with a strong flush draw, I bet and get called. Turn is 6s. I nail the flush. I check & call a bet. River is a brick. I have the second nut flush, and hardly even consider much else. I bet river for value and opponent shoves all in. Hoping to see a weaker flush (no ace- spades, no ace-x spades, no ace-x spade please). Nope. 3s5s. Flush loses to straight flush. Never seen one live. They can really do some damage.

  • 5:52 nothing like playing in a casino with a marked ace. I hope you brought that card to the dealers attention so they could swap it out for a non-marked card.. and they can say its the shuffler, but the shuffler wouldn't mark the cards like that.

  • Thanks for the video Brad , really enjoyed it! I can just imagine how frustrating it most be to lose piles of money playing a slow live poker game... (I play online) but it seems like you need to fix the tilting issues you have ASAP. Focus on what you can control and not on short term results. Good luck next session and once again thanks for amazing content!!

  • Brad, FL poker is a beast sometimes, you have the heart of a champ and have won all over. This session reminded you of what you already know...discipline, discipline, discipline. NEVER chase. Buy in big tourneys by winning small satellites, this lowers your risk exposure. ALSO, Set up a stop loss for yourself and you will always be a winner!! Only a real man admits his losses with honesty. Much respect from West Palm Beach. Your one of my fav players, keep the blog strong!

  • Brad, felt the same pain last week, not so much running into big hands, just better VALUE type hands. Closest local casino in SE Indiana just was allowed reopened poker, but is only 5 handed max. That really puts your short handed game to the text, having to expand your playing ranges. Then if the opponent has adjusted to wider ranges, seemed like i was always up against same range, just one upped on kicker. Love the fact you tried to stick it out when the 1st session wasn't going your way, it shows your fortitude. But, sometimes you need to just walk away. I'm sure you've had sessions like this, and will shake it off. Thanks for the honest loosing session, cause we all have been there.
