  • Usman has a hell of a chin. I know Colby isn't the most powerful striker, but he was still dropping bombs right on the button. Most fighters would have gone down.

    • The problem is that Colby has shit form, he literally just punches with his arms. There's no hip movement thrown into any of those punches, and not much power. It's a really hard habit to break too once you start boxing like that.

    • @@thegoat____564 i think i know a fair amount of what im talking about considering ive been watching the ufc since 2009 and ive been training mma and boxing since i was a kid as a hobby the shots were behind the ear which are legal and when he couldn't hit behind the ear u see him change up his strikes to hit his face before switching back to behind the ear where colbys hand was it wasnt early he got dropped twice and his jaw was broken and he was face first on the ground eating unanswered shots the refs their to protect the fighters snd to protect them from themselves id rather have a early stoppage then a late stoppage and have a fighter take unnecessary damage and take a prolonged beating

    • It wasn't a questionable stoppage, Covington clearly had nothing left. If you fall over every time you are touched by your opponent the fight should be stopped. What's the point of the ref allowing him to take more damage? Also, It's always weird to me when Colby gets more credit for being a 'tough opponent' than Usman gets for beating him into submission.

Usman should have been deducted at least a point possibly a DQ for the blatant strikes to the back of the head. Guess you missed the high kick Colby rocked him with before seriously hurting Usman with the straight. The round the OP mentioned was the second where Colby landed a perfectly placed liver kick that had Usman dead to rights if he didn't fake the foul.

Woodely ducked him for years, Usman refused to fight him after he beat the former champ, and masvidal ducked him twice. In what way is Colby inactive?
