One of the leading names has been Ousmane Diomande. A 20-year-old centre-back from Ivory Coast who plays for Sporting in the Portuguese league.
He is rumoured to finally make his big move and Arsenal have been leading the race to sign him. A €35 million bid last summer was rejected by Sporting and now with Chelsea and Newcastle in the race as well, Arsenal are willing to pay a whopping €60 million.

I think he would be used as a right or left back who can invert or slot into a back 3 out of possession, quick enough to deal with wingers, strong enough to deal with physical strikers, technical enough to break lines from deep, a perfect player for arsenals system and can cover a couple of positions at the back. If we did get him I think he would probably take whites position and timber goes left back

Lol he's not as a good as saliba.Not even at max potential/ceiling.But he can be great. He reminds me of thiago silva to be honest. Anyway Portugal league is not at the speed and pressure of the prem. The kid is good. Great talent ,high potential ceiling. But has long way to go. It would take him 2 years to get to prem level imo. Plenty of mistakes in him still.

He will take time to transition into the team, I think he’ll be more a rotation for Saliba rather than a replacement. Saliba is literally one of the worlds best Centre backs
And ypu think that 68M release clause was an attempt to add words in the agreement because the drafter would get extra by doing so! Bottomline is the raw talent(not to mention power n speed too) is there to play in multiple postions(plus complete multiple actions) which is VERY attractive to Edu, Arteta n his team. I think he can play DM and CB. That why Arteta see in HIm and want to play in Both positions weather we under pressure that Back 5 can deal with the pressure. Don’t forget we are very good young team will be more power to add more quality players in areas we needed.

Enough players doesn't mean enough quality, imagine diomande, saliba, Gabriel and timber as our back line, that's ridiculous tbh, then you have white, kiwior, tomiyasu as back ups. I think arteta is building from the back, if we don't concede we have a great chance at winning things as we are seeing this season, I do also think we will buy a striker and midfielder in the summer as well though even if we did get diomande.

White will be shifted to rightback permanently bro since there's no quality rightback in the market. So we need a back up centreback to saliba. Arteta is still hesitating to put Timber at centreback because of HEIGHT. The little games he played he was on the flanks. We need centreback for sure. We also need 1 big winger signing....midfielder and a striker

I believe Arteta is looking for a quality first team CB more than a LB,so he can move Gabriel to the left, and play with 4 natural centre defenders in the back. We all heard that Edu had let Leverkusen sign Grimaldo on free, and personally i was frustrated by that, because we really needed someone to cover that position + we have no direct free kick taker. It would be great to sign Othman with his teammate, the beast Viktor...
