Badd Medicine here and its Harry Potter reaction time! Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special was a real treat to see. Good to see a behind the scenes and some stories for the Harry Potter movies. The honor to Snape and those who aren't around anymore was great to see. And we are still bothered by Umbridge lol. Overall, good to go down the reunion lane here.

    • thank you very much for this video, I'm from Brazil, and it's very commendable a story like this to go around the world, Rubbie Coltrane's comment that Hagrid makes at the end, makes a waterfall of water come out of my eyes, Coltrane has been kind of sick in the last few years and predicts that perhaps his time is coming, so he says: "I won't be here anymore you know, but Hagrid will be forever" These films helped to form good people, Thank you to the channel for making the reaction of this franchise, thank you very much, hugs to Oak, Quinn and Answer.

    • You know these movies started coming out I believe about the time the final book was set so they started coming out when I was in high school but I didn't start reading them until the first movie came out because I thought they were for little kids but I knew how popular they were and I figured before I dive into the books I'll at least give the movies a shot and I was like oh my God I wish I went to that school But what you were saying about that line being bittersweet and especially after Alan Rickman died that makes me think of something that I've been a fan of since I was a little kid Golden girls and still most days I watched the reruns cuz like six times a week morning and night they're on Hallmark channel and I believe on Sunday they're on TV Land there's a line that always gives me chills in that and it's when they're talking about how even if they have to go to a nursing home they'll stay together and they're a family and Rose says what happens when it's only one of us left and then they get quiet for a second and Sophia says I can look after myself and I get chills cuz it was Rose saying what happens when it's only one of us left and she Betty White was The last One alive and first time I saw that episode since she passed I teared up and I'm like well at least they're back together in heaven now

  • The thing with Emma was that every one of the kid actors was under pressure, but she was especially targeted by the media and it was relentless. They did not care for a single boundary she had, even photographing up her skirt and having those pictures published in the paper. It’s so sad, but I’m so glad she got through it and continued with the series despite the horrendous media attention she faced as just a teenager. She is very strong

    • Yeah, a lot of people basically treated her like she was an adult who they could casually, publicly, have all kinds of.. • I cannot recommend reading the books with your kids more. I lived the same experience as Emma: I remember my dad reading the books to me, one chapter at a time (or 2, as often as I could convince him!) starting from the age of 8-9. By the time the 4th one came out, we were going to the midnight releases together, and having a blast. We didn't have a ton of money, so we'd only get one copy, to share...and he'd let me read them first, even though he loved the story just as much as I did. It was such a special time because I was "allowed" to stay up as LATE as I wanted-- even all night!-- to read them. I'd finish them within a day or two, 3 max (OOTP) and then I'd give them to my dad & he would read them, and then we'd discuss and I'd read them all over again right away! By the time the 7th one came out, we were able to get 2 copies, and I remember a time very similar to the sleepover neville's actor described. My dad and I spent 2 days together in near-silence, just sitting side by side in the living room & reading together. Those are some of the absolute best memories I have with my dad. He passed away 2 years ago, from cancer. I miss him so, so much, but every time I read Harry Potter again, I feel like he's right here with me. My own son is almost 4. I will be continuing the tradition... and continuing his memory...in the years to come. A love of reading is the most incredible gift my dad ever gave me- and these stories were a big part of that.

As someone who was orphaned at six and lived in twelve different foster homes, most of them abusive, until I aged out of the system I don't think any franchise has impacted my life harder than HP. It allowed me to escape, to experience the highs and lows with the characters, to relate to Harry (I still weep during the first movie when he draws his birthday cake in the dirt and when his face lights up when Mrs. Weasley got him Christmas presents since he'd never received any before), and to feel like I do have a place in this world and if Harry can overcome the struggles he had why can't I?

    • I agree! I'm 25 now but I was sent to live with my grandparents (in MX) at the age of 10 since my mom left for the united states and my grandparents were always very mean to me, it was clear I was a burden. They were more like roommates in the sense that all they provided was food and shelter, nothing more. No hygiene lessons, no help with homework, no emotional support, nothing. They rarely spoke to me unless it was insults and I was picked on a lot. Basically, it was a case of severe neglect & abuse and no one was around to help. I moved out to live alone at 15/16 It may sound cringey to people if they arent fans of HP but I truly mean it when I say that the franchise literally kept me going. The fact that Harry was able to find a family of his own, went through struggles of being a teen + a teen from an abusive household, expressed his loneliness, was bullied, insecure, angry at times, experienced grief, searched for parental figures constantly, but most of all, a kid that was learning to fight for himself, etc, all of that was so immensely impactful. You dont even need to experience childhood neglect/abuse to feel connected to HP either. The franchise touches on so many issues that every human being at some point experiences. At least, in my life, it made all the difference.

  • To the Appleton Oak….you are wrong about one thing, your reactions really are making a difference. I’m also 42 but I was the nerdy 18-20 year old who loved Harry Potter but didn’t shout it out for fear of being “uncool”. When I had my daughters in my mid-20s I wanted to read the stories to them but I could quickly see that they were too young to really understand but I became invested in the story even more. Through the years when I would have a tough time I could always put on one of the movies or listen to the audiobook in the car and just feel comforted. During the pandemic I delved even deeper into the Wizarding World. I’m a Registered Nurse and I know that we were all impacted by the pandemic in some way, but for me I felt that every area of my life had been turned upside down, nothing made sense anymore. Every day that I worked I listened to the audiobooks on my drives to and from the Hospital because it was my security blanket, the known in a world of the unknown. As for how these reactions are really making a difference to people…when you’ve read the books, listened to the audiobooks, and watched the movies so many times you think you know everything about them. Watching these reactions, for me, is like experiencing the story again for the first time. Seeing someone catch little details that you have no idea how you missed, seeing someone else get wide eyed, and sometimes teary eyed, over the characters that you love so much is really moving. I will forever be grateful for J.K. Rowling for the world she created and I’m just as grateful to all of you who help to keep the Wizarding World alive.

  • Rupert doesn’t really care about the kiss, he felt the same way. Right after the film during interviews when they’d be asked about and rate it, Emma was trying to be nice but was like it was weird. She did rate it. Rupert just said I can’t remember it. I remember her face just closing in and I blacked out. So he feels the same way she does about it. As far as I know all the directors left of their own accord. Chris Columbus didn’t think he could go past the first two because it gets considerably darker. He didn’t think he could do it justice because he’s very much a director of kids films. The directors for the third and fourth I think each just wanted to do one. They didn’t want to go on. David Yates who came in on the fifth one is still doing the fantastic beasts movies. As someone who’s read the books I didn’t agree with everything he chose to do but I still very much enjoyed the films he did and it felt like Harry Potter.

    • @@davidbaye3758 yes, it was incredible. I was part (and still am) of the Italian Official Harry Potter Fandom and with my friends we flew to London for the last World Premiere. We camped in Trafalgar Square with our tents three days before the event, and even if for some people it may seem crazy and excessive to do all this just for a film or a book, I remember it as one of the most emotional experiences of my life. In those days I met people from all over the world with whom I am still friends today. It really was a generational saga, many compare it to Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or Marvel, and although I am a fan of all these franchises, what makes HP a unique phenomenon is that it was born and grew along with its readers/viewers/actors. I don't think there will ever be anything else like it, even in terms of production and making of a franchise, and let's remember that this was all before social media and stuff like that. • So glad you guys watched this! ✨ Another thing about Emma and her experience was her being overly sexualized in the industry. She was the only girl of the main trio, and there was definitely a contrast in the way that media and press talked about her. That’s part of the reason why she felt so alone; the boys couldn’t really relate to what she was going through at the time. Dan has also touched before on the opposite.. how the industry didn’t want to take him seriously as a romantic male lead because of HP, but everyone was so quick to think of Emma in that way.

The way BM is discussing and how they are suck onto the story.. as if i was watching it for the first time. I will stay a patron for sure! Thank you guys for this.

I also had an eating disorder & the one thing keeping me going was reading the next book, watching the next movie. I had selective mutism but now I’ve graduated, I’m a veterinary nurse.

  • I read book one when my son wanted to see the first movie and was hooked ever since I stood in line with him at midnight to get the books with the huge crowds and it felt like they were your family. Talking to other fans while you waited for the bookstore to release the book was the best time ever. I learned to take the next few days off work because once we got the book we couldn't put it down until we were done. There are many things in the books that make them much better than the movies, as most books do, but I really missed Peeves and not hearing Harry's running commentary as he experienced this world as an outsider. If you think the movies teach a lot of positive life lessons you must read the books. Harry deals with so much more and can help kids get through class issues, racism, depression, and anxiety. The audiobooks are a must-own as well, Jim Dale is famous and talented in his own right but hearing him do all the voices and bring these books to life is stunning and an experience all on its own. Thank you for doing these movies and loving them as much as we do, I remember going to the midnight premiere of Chamber of Secrets and all the kids showed up in cosplay and we had to step over tons of brooms to go to the bathroom, best time ever! When we saw part 5 in the theater it was sureal to hear so many children and adults crying and sobbing out loud over Sirius's death, it still makes me sob.

  • The first time I watched this 20th Anniversary Special, I would start crying when I heard Daniel's voice breaking from the emotions. And Robbie's statement about him not being around in 50 years, but Hagrid will be still breaks my heart to this day. I kind of grew up watching Harry Potter, and would be in my elementary school library just reading the books, my imagination just painting the scenes exactly as I read them. Harry Potter is why I became the man I am today, and I'll end off by saying my favorite quote. "The ones that love us never really leave us, and you can always find them... in here."

  • Just binge watched all of your Harry Potter playlist videos. Thank you guys so much for watching these movies and caring about the in a way that they deserve to be cared for. This coming of age story means the world to me. I was 9 years old when I read the first book and when I watched the first movie. It was the first book I had ever read that was made into a movie and it made me love reading and fantasy. I remember waiting for the books to come out and also being at the midnight premiers for the movies. Those are some of my favorite memories as a kid. I was graduating high school when the last movie came out, so from 9-18 years old I had Harry Potter in my life. When I watched the last movie in theaters for the first time I just sat there for 10 minutes smiling and euphoric. It truly shaped the person I am today. I got emotional when you first talked about this being so special for the one generation of kids that grew up with this series, and that applied directly to me. Thank you again for sharing your reactions, it was so fun to watch you enjoy my favorite story.

  • Great reaction guys... as were all of your videos throughout the series. I must admit that 'Oaks' comment about reading the books / watching the movies unexpectedly became a real "timing" issue for us as well. I began reading the first book to my daughter in the summer before first grade... only to be surprised a couple of days later to learn that she'd become too impatient with my pace and started reading it on her own! Over the next several months, she never went anywhere without her book, using any excuse - be it the ride to school, waiting for her sister to finish a dance class, or even free time at school - to read and complete the first three books. As I realized that she was in fact going to get through all the books - and quickly at that - it became clear that I'd have to stay ahead of her in order to understand what was coming. First - I was happy I did, as I soon became intrigued by the story and characters for their own sake. Second, once I completed Goblet of Fire, I decided that it was a bit too much for my then 6-year-old daughter. Telling her she'd have to stop and wait wasn't easy, but I softened the blow in a couple of critical ways; first, I explained why I thought she needed to pause (fortunately, as a kid subject to some especially vivid nightmares, she was willing to listen). Second, we made an event of watching the first three movies so she could watch the stories come to life and re-watch whenever she felt the need to "re-connect" with her friends Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Third, I identified several other series that I thought she'd like (and helped turn her into a voracious reader). Finally, I made it a goal/reward for reaching the appropriate "maturity" milestone. We talked about it and together decided when she'd be ready (in the end, she decided she'd be ready at the same age Harry was when he started his first year at Hogwarts... which seemed only right). Looking back, it was a great experience to share with both my girls... and something I can't recommend highly enough to other parents as their kids come to it. Be engaged. Take the time to appreciate what it is they're reading and watching and create guide rails tailored to their readiness. No one knows your kids like you do... and setting the "field" is incredibly important. In the end, reading and watching the Harry Potter series together is one of our favorite shared memories, and I wouldn't change a thing!

The series is a perfect companion to just grow as a child with step by step but with a moral compass. It helps to me kind, refelctive and open. Until today this one scene roots deep within me: Harry and Dumbledore talk about Harry boarding a train in the afterlife - Harry ask "where it will get me". And I just love Dumbledores answer. "On". Sometimes it can be difficult to make decisions in life. But it is just about just going on. And this reassuring look of Dumbledores saying that, keeps me going so often. Everything will be ok.

I met my husband in grade school, and we started dating in high school. Many times people find it sad that I didn’t experience adult dating. But there is so many more roots to our relationship because we have grown up together. We have been several different people through those times and emerged from that as adults. We went through rebellious teenaged years together, undergrad, graduate school, starting careers, and now We are now raising a little boy together. I always say the roots of our relationship are just so deep. It is the same with friendships.

  • Two things to check out 1) For "The Oak" for your fan theory dive... check out the Super Carlin Brothers and what they do in regards to HP if you haven't already. They have some very well articulated fan theories about HP (one being Snape didn't die) 2) Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) wrote a book post HP that was VERY personal talking about her eating disorder and that Luna more or less saved her life before she was ever given the role. She also goes on to talk about how because the character saved her, she feels it's her duty to always project/protect that character for the younger fans whenever she is out. I think a quote from an interview was something along the lines of "I mean she saved my life and if she saved mine then I'm sure she saved someone else and I won't ruin her for that someone else".

  • Watching your reactions and listening to you guys talk made me even more appreciative of being part of the “Potter Generation”. I’m forever grateful I got to grow up with these characters and actors and that it became something my dad and I bonded over. It even made my sister and I closer. She’s four years older than me and was never much of a reader but she read these after I pestered her about them and now her toddler loves them. We got so lucky with Dan, Emma, and Rupert. They grew up to be fantastic humans who have never had a bad thing to say about people who only see them as these characters. Daniel specifically has just made me so proud. He’s spoken up multiple times about how he’d never want fans to feel bad about still only knowing him as Harry bc he knows how important it is to them. He and Elijah Wood did a fantastic interview together last year to celebrate the HP and LOTR 20 year anniversary’s, I highly suggest you guys look that up! I think you’d love it. Also the reason a lot of the older cast members aren’t in this is bc many of them have retired or high risk health and this was filmed during 2020.

  • I just found these videos cus I love watching Harry Potter reactions and I think your reactions were my favorite that I’ve seen. It’s crazy that the oak said of the first one that he’d never watch it again and then he got sucked in and started rewatching them right away 😂❤👏👏👏 the power of Harry Potter at work this was great

  • Thank you for watching this, I had yet to see it and it was great to watch with you guys. I really wanted to give The Oak a big hug, I could tell this hit him emotionally and considering where he started, it was really touching.

  • The Movies in itself are awesome, especially if you grew up with them and the books. But what makes me fall in love with the whole world around it are the actors and how special they still are to each other. For example, when Tom Feltons Autobiographie came out in 2022, Emma Watson wrote the Forword. She described him so sincerely that i could really feel how important they still are to each other. And i am not talking about the whole they had crushes on each other thing, but the genuine friendship that lasts forever. And in this reunion we see so many special relationships! Like seeing Dan and Gary speak about this kinda paternal relationship it makes the rewatch of their scenes in the movies much more emotional.

  • Can remember each year these came out, fairly vividly. Who I saw them with, how I was feeling, what I was worried about, where I was going after, how the films made me feel. Seeing Deathly Hallows actually led to reconnecting with a few friends from the past who I missed very, very much. It didn't last unfortunately...too much time had passed, to much new responsibility. But it was great to get a semblance of closure on those relationships...and a couple years of new memories. Prisoner of Azkaban we saw on a trip after high school graduation. Still might be my favorite. I was waaaay too stoned for it. I didn't understand why Hagrid's hut had moved, why the lake moved, and why the castle suddenly looked so different--why the camera could travel through glass. I was lost and confused...but it was magical. (Alfonso Cuaron is legit great.) Thanks Harry Potter. I dumped on you...then I cried for you. Thanks to Braden for suggesting it. It was, indeed, on par w Lord of the Rings.

  • This series will always have a special place in my heart. I was the same age as Harry when the first book released in the US, and reading through each book and relating with things happening in my own life at the time was so special. And over the years having reread/rewatched the books/movies with a different perspective each time is truely amazing, I get something slightly different out of it each time I go back to experience the story again.

  • I just watched the reunion for the first time as well and hell did I cry 😭 😂 and then I immediately came here to watch your reaction and to get emotional once again. Just to hear and see what a journey it has been for everyone, us who have grown up with the books and movies as well as all the actors that you love and adore so much since pretty much always and of course you 3 who are still rather new to the Potter- verse, seeing how over the past few months you have really become just as invested in the story, this whole universe and really understood the meaning- it's just beautiful guys! I seriously cannot wait for your discussion ! I really want to finally see that hopefully hour(s) long discussion where the 3 of you sit down and go through all the movies and talk about them in detail! I really wanna knoww what all of you have to say!! And especially with The Oak who started reading the first book! I cannot wait man! Seriously what a pleasure it was and still is to follow you 3 on your Potter- journey ! There is hardly anything that can compare with the pure joy you experience while watching someone experience these movies and this whole universe for the first time ! ✨

  • I had tears in my eyes from beginning to end...it just hit home watching everyone back together after all these years.. by the end of the reunion I was crying my eyes out. I feel so lucky to have had these movies growing up. It was such an escape from the hardships of real life. Whenever I'm having a bad day, watching any of the movies feel like a giant hug.. They feel like Home to me 🤍 Always 🤍

  • Really have enjoyed watching your reactions through this journey. I've watched many reactors and you three are definitely up there for my favorites. I appreciate your views and openness to something you didn't think you would like. Not everyone would be able to admit that they actually do like something, when at first they didn't. Another good fan-made film that is less reacted to is called "Neville Longbottom and the Black Witch". It's only 15 minutes but goes into Neville's backstory a little bit. I think you'd enjoy it!
