I genuinely think this is the most realistic home I've seen Kayla build. Its gorgeous. Most homes are decorated over time and end up with furniture that isn't a perfect match to everything else but it's sorta in the same ballpark. The exterior is SO CUTE.
lmao my living room has like 6 different wood tones
I completely agree
agreed! it looks like a real house.
Agree 100% about the inside, but the exterior is VERY unrealistic. The far majority of houses are not orange or anything close to it, sadly. That'd be really cool though!
@@mydogismybff I don’t know where you live, but where I live almost every house in my neighbourhood looks like this, just with less plants and white windows lol
how can she build that good without seeing colours when i can’t even build with seeing colours😭😭
FRRR
probs cuz its a skill, you dont just become a good builder instantly, it takes time.
Lol
Well, at the end she used almost only one pack and tried to use the same swatches
Same🫠
I know parts of this build drive Kayla crazy but I really love the eclectic vibes. It's nothing she'd deliberately build, I hope this challenge gives her incentive to do more builds outside of her comfort zone.
I think the exterior colors of the build are actually so genuinely pretty to look at, i'd love to see more bright houses with colorful windows
@jackofhearts5542 I agree. Blue and orange and complementary colors so it works very well. They're also my college colors so I'm a bit partial lol.
It gives a much more realistic version of a home than the curated builds folks normally do - you combine similar-ish tones without worrying that it exactly matches what’s already in your house. Also the fact that Kayla dislikes some of those swatches and wouldn’t normally reach for them makes it nice to see when they pop in accidentally lol
Idk how to explain this but Kayla manage to build a typical Mexican Home I often see in my town. Amazing 😮
The color combinations on the outside kinda reminds me of Dora the Explorer’s house a little bit
I knew this would work, she’s usually more matchy in colors than I prefer, I think she’s made a gorgeous house now 😂 The outside reminds me of color combos I’ve seen in Florida.
Yes! This reminds me so much of the colors in the neighborhood my tía lives in in Mexico City
REAL
especially those curtains she hates! looks just like grandma's house lol
I feel like this house is more like an ACTUAL house rather than something modern-like, it looks lived in? Idk.
I actually love this. It's more realistic when everything doesn't match perfectly. I think we get too hung up on everything looking perfect in the Sims we don't take into account how many normal houses irl don't have perfectly matching wood swatches.
the low-key flex when Kayla mentions the sofa colors (0:50) and turns to be correct (1:15) is so smooth I don't think she realizes
how lol? is been around since city living?
those two swatches are memorable bc they were added later and are the only two on that couch with a texture. theyre honestly the only two swatches id be able to identify on that couch too lol
@@Everybodyknows13 I have a ridiculous amount of hours on the sims, just building, and I don't have them memorized 😂😂 I have more important things to remember.
@@Drux.ii think you would though, if you remembered them being added. i sure do. i was hopeful about more textured swatches on that couch, but they are the only two
@@w0nd3rstruck If I had a specific reason to remember them, sure, but as the person I was responding to was being cocky, I responded accordingly.
Kayla doing a black and white challenge and still manages to use all the blue swatches 😂
Yeah I love she's doing these old challenges again. It's almost nostalgic to me
Same lol. Even though it's been like 4 years
I didn’t even realize at first it was a new video! I thought I was watching an old one that I had somehow miss or didn’t remember. Then i realize it’s in her new house lol
Same I missed them her content lately hasn’t hit the same
can someone pls tell me How to add a stray to my House , I play on Ps4 Google seems to give me wrong answers
@barbaralumpkins8090 I've never played on a Playstation, but you should just be able to find and befriend a stray dog or cat in brindleton bay, or on any lot you add the corresponding lot trait too and once the friendship bar is high enough an adopt option should appear
Random thought: Build a build specifically to try and make it look good in black and white. So caring less anout how the colors look together, and more about making sure things contrast properly when you take the color away, haha.
Like how the Adam’s family home was painted pink to look good in black and white
Or like how they used green lipstick instead of red because it looked better
@@mariahhusted3274 Exactly what I was thinking of!
That's exactly what I always want from these whenever she does them.
I love that Kayla matches her shirt to the theme of each of her videos😅💕🫶
Honestly I think this is the best one. Even the sort of odd things are kind of charming or seem intentional and there's quite a bit of color matching even if not all the shades are the same
Do inverted next!
YESSSS
Inverted can often be less random because lots of people know the colour wheel so they roughly know how it will look but it could still be cool
@@veryberrytoca I can confirm this, plus even if you don’t know color theory if things match with the inverted filter they will roughly match without it, so it’s not that big of a challenge
Build challenge: only use a specific number swatch, like you randomize a number and if you get a ”3” then you can only use the third swatch of an item. And you must try to use items that have that amount of swatches. 👀
I was NOT expecting the door and windows to be bright blue
Ngl the colours in this build are one of my favourites Kayla has ever done, I love red tone wood and the outside looks so cool I love the blue against the orange, this is so awesome
The next time a brand new pack comes out, you should try this challenge within a few days of its release
*My brain while watching this* “ I could be brown, I could be blue I could be violet sky, i could be hurtful, I could be purple I could be anything you like” 😂❤ xx
I was looking for this commenttttt me tooo
A green-red colour blind challenge would be fun! From what I know people tend to see both colours as a sort of brown, so a build which avoids green and red altogether to make sure the house looks the same to everyone would be cool (choosing to avoid the other types of colour blindness for this lol, could do those in a separate challenge!)
What about a “No mistake + not being able to see any color” challenge ??!!!! That would be a total disaster hahahaha
at 2:47 you were asking how the roof item works, and it’s actually meant to work in the same way as those thatched accents from cottage living-it’s meant to go on top of the point of the roof rather than as a window on the side, which is why it jumps up when you place it
I actually really like the blue windows with the orange stucco!
Kayla, honestly, I think you're picking on yourself, the build turned out just cool. Totally agree with other comments about not being able to build this cool even seeing the colours
I LOVE this house it feels so realistic!!! That's like a house I'd like to live in, I loooove how many colours there are
This house turned out pretty cool, unusual choices but they matched just enough not to look like a catalog and without being chaotic. Looks pretty realistic. The only thing I would change is the wallpaper in the office and the kid's bed, I knew that one would be a mess the moment you said the sheep rug is red 😂
I came up with a Challenge...Not sure if anyone has ever done this but I was thinking kind of a legacy challenge but you have to use all the worlds. Staring with willow creek. You can only have two children and you cannot go into any other world, you have to explore the world you are in and keep with the theme. Then you pick an child once the turn into young adult they have to go to the next world, so on so forth. But you have to do what each world is meant for, so if you are in sulani you have to become a mermaid and live the island life, if you are in henford-on-bagley you have to live the farming cottage life.
I love when Kayla does these challenges cus you can see her anxiety and overthinking lifting, as she knows "well i can't check the colour, next" and it's so calming to see:)
I absolutely love the exterior, I think it came out so well
honestly this is the best style exterior i’ve seen kayla build!!
i think it would be funny if you did this challenge but with random packs (with the James Turner's website or something). there would be a higher chance of chaos
why is it so cohesive. i actually love it
grace kelly by mika playin in my mind the whole time watching this 🎶 I could be brown i could be blue i could be violet sky 🎶
FINALLY THESE CHALLENGE VIDEOS ARE BACK
I am SO excited for this, I'm loving all the challenge builds recently! :)
the outside is giving orange creamsicle and i love
The outside is giving one of those kitschy beach houses you can rent in super duper tourist beach towns (usually in Florida )
when simsie turned back on the colour I was like "wow it's so cute". The outside reminds me of cute lil village/beach houses in some places i've been
Kayla I loved all the color combinations! Probably the best b&w challenge build I've ever seen 😊😊
You know I have seen houses on the street with worse color schemes, and I think the color scheme is actually, though unusual pretty pleasing to the eye
I love it when you use all the packs to build. The base game doesn't have enough good items/variations and it always ends up looking the same. I wish you'd do builds with all the packs more often. Maybe a challenge with base game only for people to download and then the same house with all the packs only! also would love to see you use the furniture from For Rent outside Tomarang. For instance, the house of an art/furniture collector who travels around the world and lives in a nice flat in San Myshuno.
this house feels like it's decorated by someone who is completely color blind, and they got really close on most things, but it's just a little off lol. i like it though!
i love this build omg! i love how everything isnt super matchy, it looks realistic
Love this old video! I remember when it was posted in 1843 😊
SHE WAS SO GOOD AT IT OMG. I'm actually impressed. I did thought she would do good but not THAT good
I actually love this house to pieces, it’s so colorful and it feels like a real home. Also, ever since For Rent came out, I have unironically been using that reddish-brown swatch everywhere, even with furniture not from the pack. Might actually download this house, it’s so pretty
as a colourblind person this was quite fun to watch 😂
Honestly I LOOOOVE the exterior! I wouldn't have picked the blue and orange on my own but it works so well together and makes such a fun little house. Honestly if I had For Rent I'd download this for sure!
Omg I’ve missed these challenges so much
The outside colors are so cute! I don't think we ever would have gone for that on purpose, but it's so cute!
honestly all the colors in this build work really well together!
I actually really like this, it's kind of realistic in a way how it doesn't match perfectly. I'm impressed the colors actually go well together too
There's a painting exercise that does this too where you just focus on the values and not the colors, and then once you reveal the colors you get some really surprisingly beautiful pieces. I feel like this house is just that: unexpectedly beautiful.
One of my favorite and most used houses in my game is one of the past Black and White Challenges. It's the one with a cottagey look with the swooping roof in the front and a wishing well in the back. I usually have changed it quite a bit (mostly upgrading kitchen appliances and putting in a basement, as well as enlarging a room that I end up using as a computer and painting room.) But for the main rooms, I don't really change the colors.
This is genuinely one of the best houses you’ve ever built it’s not so matchy and cookie cutter it looks so real
it looks like a holiday house, yk, a house with a lot of old rugs and stuff that dont match but its just so cozy, i love it. add a fire pit on the outside and its the perfect holiday house
Honestly, I think most family homes have an eclectic and miss-matched style and color scheme as you mix new things with heirlooms. For me this build is very realistic looking. I loved it! 😂
I gasped when I saw the exteriors. It looks so pretty!!!❤
THOSE OUTSIDE COLORS HIT DIFFERENTTTTT!!!
We’ve been asking for this one and Kayla DELIVERED ❤️❤️❤️
It reminds me of houses in NOLA that I was looking at for a vacation years ago!! I love all of it! It meshes together pretty well
Actually love this and I love the way it came out looking really realistic. If I walked into this house itl I wouldn't bat an eye and I would think it was nicely decorated.
I love the off center tv cabinets?? I never thought to do that but it's so good especially with the chair on the right balancing the room 👌👌👌
Having blue around even with black and white filter is so funny to me😂😂 she will never escape the blue suburban and the game is letting her know that
This looks amazing !!! Genuinely love the colours and style.
Kayla kept revealing rooms and I kept thinking "yeah, this fits with the rest of the house!" And when we saw the orange and blue exterior, I was surprised at how unexpectedly cute it was!
Almost 2M subs!!! ❤🎉
I love the shape of this build and the floor plan!!! It turned out so cute with the blues and oranges too
We haven't seen this challenge in a while, nice to see it coming back!
This house came out very good. I think I might try this challenge. But I am going to just use base game. I would definitely like to see you do another one of these with base game.
12:35 i thought that room felt familiar and that's bc it's LITERALLY the layout of my friend's living room LOL
i love this house! it honestly felt like my own home. also loving the orange!!
i love when she redoes these challenges!
This actually came out really good!!! The house is really cute, especially exterior!!!❤
this build makes my maximalist heart so happy haha. kayla did amazing
The outside is stunning the flowers being vibrant are so cute and I think this is one of your best ones yet!❤
That looks so good for someone that said she doesn't know the swatches! Definitely some mismatches but that's to be expected and in the end thats a pretty good build!
It ended up looking really 90s inside, and beach-house outside lol
I LOVE THIS HONESTLY!! As someone from southeast asia, this house could easily be the rich people house you could see from the street because they can afford to buy so much colorful paint. 😂 Some of us (like me) have grey cement colored houses. Even the interior is nice. I am absolutely thrilled about the interior because I honestly think the color matches!
looove this challenge!!
this build feels really nostalgic and i love the colors i dont think its really that bad :)
Omg the shirt you got on is so cute I love the checkered (target has a checkered purse on sale I personally bought that would match perfectly❤)
this is pretty cool and fun to watch :) I hope you have a lot of fun doing these too :)
Oh this turned out so cute
I have not finished the video yet but I’m so excited for her to instinctively make a blue suburban 😂
it'd be fun to see a sort of reno challenge of this house. where the type of item and placement has to stay the same but the color and style changes. like the desk and computer have to stay in the same place but it can be a different desk and a different color chair, etc. but the whole house obvi
I really wanna try this now
I love challenges like this!!
Okay so since nobody else has said it, the thing she tried to use as a dormer and got confused about goes along the roofline, like the thatch animal ones from cottage living
I actually love this a lot!
Do more of these with different packs! This was a great build!
I really love this! Ièm down for a round 2 with base game.
oh I loved this video, please do this more often!!!
love these challenge videos!
i actually love this! id play in this house!!
these are my favorite challenges
House actually looks ace. All spring vibey even.
this is such a unique but real-feeling build
You did so good! I'm impressed! I'd love to see a base game version :D
New build idea each room is a different swatch of the colorful basegame circle wallpaper on at least one major wall. (The one with the Pink default swatch) You'll be shoved forcibly out of your comfort zone.
Have you done Syd Mac's coloring book challenge yet? It's similar. Start with all white swatches, then go back through and change the swatch to "color it in"
