People don't need to cut themselves down to the point their abs can be seen just to be healthy and conditioned, and most fighters dangerously cut weight prior to every fight, so they're able to weigh under a certain amount. This means they constantly keep themselves somewhat malnourished to prevent natural.weight gain from.caloric.intake. Look up images of Conor McGregor at weigh-in, the man looks like he just walked out of a POW camp, because he stops eating sometime before the weigh-in, and also heats up his body for hours on end in a sauna to sweat out as much water as possible. This, and vanity, is why so many fighters look like sculptures of Greek gods when they're in the ring or octagon. Fury doesn't have to do any of that because he's in the heaviest weight class and doesn't attempt to fight boxers in a lower one. He can eat enough to provide his body with the nourishment it requires, and still qualify for his fights. Based on the little I know about Fury's past, he indeed has a metabolism conducive to weight gain, he refers to himself being "born fat", and says he'll "die fat".

Well he uses it to his advantage. That’s what he used to batter Wilder with. Fury has footwork but there’s weight behind his punches. Put the combination of: size, weight and being good on your feet and it will take more than just another heavy hitter to overcome an opponent like Fury. To beat him you’d have to take away one of his strengths. The easiest one would be to make him come down in weight to even the fight. That’s what Tank did with Garcia and won.

Look up images of Conor McGregor at weigh-in, the man looks like he just walked out of a POW camp, because he stops eating sometime before the weigh-in, and also heats up his body for hours on end in a sauna to sweat out as much water as possible. This, and vanity, is why so many fighters look like sculptures of Greek gods when they're in the ring or octagon. Fury doesn't have to do any of that because he's in the heaviest weight class and doesn't attempt to fight boxers in a lower one. He can eat enough to provide his body with the nourishment it requires, and still qualify for his fights. Based on the little I know about Fury's past, he indeed has a metabolism conducive to weight gain, he refers to himself being "born fat", and says he'll "die fat".
