  • 80's and 90's, someone does a regular dunk just with emphasis: OMG that's a 50. Nowadays someone does a triple salchow while making a hot dog in mid air and then completes a 360 windmill dunk: Man, I wish the dunk contest was like the old days.

  • As an old guy, I have seen nearly all of these dunk contests in the years that they were done. I have to say the 1988 Jordan vs Domonique was the most entertaining as it went back and forth and you really didn't know who was going to win. The Vince Carter dunks were the most exciting as the dunk contest was getting boring/routine in the previous years and he re-vitalized it with original dunks. As for the "best" and coolest dunks, I actually think they were done by Aaron Gordon, still cant believe he never won!?!

    @doctorshawn3461@doctorshawn34612 жыл бұрын
    • I've seen most of them...can't quite remember back to '84, but I was alive....and agree, those were the three standout years: 1988, 2000 and 2016. '88 was a slugfest between Dominique and Jordan. 4 50s out of 6 dunks in the finals. 2000, Vinsanity was on another planet, but TMac and Francis put on a hell of a show also. And 2016's battle between LaVine and Gordon was as good as '88.

All judges should be required to watch this before the Dunk Contest, so they know what a 50 looks like. I like how pure most of the dunks were, with no props or extra people. • Spud Webb being 5'7 and doing all those dunks is simply insane... I love Dom's power dunks and always enjoyed watching them during games... the Levine vs Gordon competition was the most athletic/craziest in my opinion.. damn
