There are many ways to reduce a carbon footprint. Ships with a bulbous bow, a hull vane, air lubrication, propeller modifications, shaft generators and solar panels all can cut fossil fuel usage. Anyone with not only a superyacht but also a support vessel has no interest in their usage of diesel.

What damage is that doing to the ground, the ground water, and micro life in the dirt..... How long did you test this what happened and where is the study that was made..... Well, he needs somewhere to do what he used to get up to with his late buddy on that island, ey. Traffcking inspections should be something that happen to these yachts at sea.
Question: if a ship is half built and you sell it, would the buyer buy it from the shipyard or from the person who ordered the boat? would the buyer then be able to negotiate the price and design of the unfinished portion of ship or is that "fixed" by the original contract and beyond the point of being modified because parts alreayd ordered/under construction and only the interior fittings can be changed by new owner?

Project 821 is a nice new Feadship yacht given those lines seen here; though I personally I never got the appeal of such "oversized yachts" as I would rather have a small 30m sailing yacht for matters of coziness (would feel lonely on such a huge vessel), port limitations, owner-operator feel/option (S/Ys around that size often only require a crew of two, so an experienced couple could give them some time off and enjoy the yacht in total privacy) and environmental considerations.
ex president Kennedy had a perfect little day sail boat for the Chesapeake bay, with a beautiful blue enameled Franklin warming stove set by the mast below deck. I am sure it insured a more personal experience as a host taking others out for a pleasure cruise.
The Black Pearl impressed me. It is a sailboat and uses the propellor to run a generator while under wind power and generator recharges batteries that feed th e"hotel" functions of the yacht as well as run propulsion when there is no wind. It is said it can theoretically cross atlantic without using any fossil fuel. If I havd the right ship, the sails were originally to be flexible solar panels but initially fitted with more conventional fabric pending availability of reliable flexible solar panels.
the Atlantic could be a tough place for untested technologies , so such a vessel might require a rare captain to ensure safety.
How about all the carbon emissions from building a completely unnecessary floating hotel?

He's selling because he has his eyes on something different, possibly a more efficient yacht that will be able to stay underway for a much longer timespan. When SHTF that will be a pretty important specification.

What was the name of that Spanish shipbuilder again. Very well done. Anyway that support vessel seemed to roll like a pig. And the seas didn’t look particularly large or rough. Would hate to spend any time on it. As for the elite and their hypocrisy, yes I am utterly sick of it. How many private jets get flown to those annual climate conferences. Always at a different exotic place each year.
You’d think a YACHT that size would have stabilisers- counter any swells - but like you said, it does roll like a pig in a quite calm sea. Imagine if it hit a Force 10 Gale Wind-front. Gates probably designed it & we know what his designs can do - that yacht is a disaster waiting to happen.

I'm looking at two super yachts sitting in the bay in La Paz BCS, Mexico. There was three. The yachts were identified as Malinda Gates yacht, the widow of Steve Jobs, and the creator of Whatsapp that was acquired by Meta. If you want pictures I can send them. Also, one of those yachts has a very large power cat utility boat that tags along to haul the toys. It is complete with a helipad.

Cannot help think that these guys are preparing for when the torches and pitchforks come, that they will fly off in their helicopters to their floating palaces for a haven. Unfortunately, they do not realize that mother nature can be far more cruel at times, as you may know. They also become giant sitting ducks with the potential for gigantic problems. Urban legend has it, that BG had a flat tire going to Whistler BC and sat in his car for some time, before kind Samaritan helped him out. Apparently BG, paid off the kind person's mortgage in gratitude. BG might not be so lucky next time, when everyone figures out what he has been up to.

I must be confused somewhere. Motor Yacht flying fox is bigger than the project that Lurrsen is currently building as their flag ship and you say is the biggest they've ever built, did you mean by gross ton? Flying Fox is over 400 feet.

Yeah, an eco dude owning a yacht...makes perfect sense. The full up sailing yacht at least makes a little more sense, quite a bit, actually. It likely still has a carbon footprint, but vastly smaller.

There is absolutely nothing environmentally friendly about that sailboat. That sailboat burns more fuel in 1 year than the average person does in a lifetime. They need to just admit cc is a complete hoax and money laundering scheme.
Eco celebrities fly around the world on private jets. I suspect a yacht has less carbon footprint than all those jet flights.
Go on a private jet booking site, they offset each booking by 2x or even 3x the carbon they release and you don't get to opt out. Of course the rich were going to become carbon neutral before everyone else. It's not even that expensive, but most people can't be bothered with spending a small amount on some saplings and a small amount of time going out to find an area to plant them in. The internet is a major emitter but here you are using it instead of planting trees, implying violence towards people who have more than likely planted trees or used some other means to offset their carbon emissions already. There's a very good chance you are worse than them.
