Q shows Bond his new gadgets. Pam nearly kills Bond and Q when she takes a photo and a laser comes out instead of the flash.
Q (Desmond Llewelyn): "Now this looks like an ordinary camera, doesn't it?"
Pam (Carey Lowell): "What kind of film does it take? 120?"
Q: "No, .220, high velocity."
Q: "Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader. And if I plug this into the bottom like that. Once I've programmed it. Now, nobody can use the gun but you."
Pam Bouvier: "Smile, boys."
Q: "Don't use the flash! Stop fiddling about with things you don't understand. You might easily have killed him."
Pam Bouvier: "That's odd."
Q was a quaity all of his own!
😮 Q is real technicial intelligence .... ex WW ll Case Officer 🙏
@@aryootidjo3357 Ian Fleming wanted Jon Pertwee to play Q since he was familiar with the technology. Fortunately; he took the doctor who character into a 007 variation.
Carey Lowell was ultra beautiful in this film.
From the thumbnail, I almost mistook her for Linda Carter (TV Wonder Woman)
She married Richard Gere. That's all she wrote.
Always. ❤😂
And kinda dumb
She definitely is hot!
RIP Desmond Llewellyn. 🙏 You were the best Q.
It should have been Jon Pertwee. He was with MI6 during WW2.
Carey was stunningly beautiful ❤
Agreed
One of the most underrated all-time beauties. I can't think of a better looking woman (though I'll spare you all my athletic bent on women that would cause me to veer in favor of unknown women, there y sticking to "traditional" feminine hotness). Not even other Bond girls can equal her; not even Brit Eklund in her painted-on bikini; not even the golden Miss Masters, nor Ursula, nor Michelle, nor Maud Adams, Barbara Bach WAS gorgeous though.
@teller1290 many Bond girls were beautiful in their own ways: Famke Janssen, Sophie Marceau, Eva Green, Berenice Marlohe, Catherina Murino, Monica Belucci, Carol Bouquet, Maryam D'Abo, Lois Chiles

Carey Lowell was absolutely beautiful in this movie.
When you're THAT gorgeous, despite having a lame boy's haircut, the other wimminz want to push you down the stairs, lol...

Absolutely loved Desmond as Q
New one is terrible
he was the best!
@@SyphADL87Yeah, he comes across as arrogant.
@@SyphADL87 Very terrible.
I think Dalton was underrated as Bond. He certainly looked the part and he had a drollness that came through as the Bond in the novels.
Agreed ... but I also enjoyed Lazenby's single outing. Not the strongest double aught, but I had recently discovered skiing and it had some severe skiing, iirc.
@@WilliamRWarrenJr I THINK HE MADE A GOOD BOND ALSO. HE WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY IN 2 BOND MOVIES.
But no natural charisma. That's why it didn't go far.
I find him to look like Eric McCormack, with a 20 years gap.
Huge problem was the scripts. Foe whatever reason they were some of the worst written. Dalton did a really good job with what he had.
"Will you be needing insurance?" "Definitely."
Q is a great character, and this actor made Q even greater.
I just realized why she said "thats odd." Its because the photo in the back shouldn't be seen in that xray but it was meaning its made with something like bone or what a xray can pick up
Human blood and bone mixed in the paint for color and texture. Reminds me of the movie ..."The Violin" The red pigment on the violin was blood.Fact.
Thank you for this knowledge
Hey, it's a pretty ordinary photograph _(of a foreign military dictator?)_ hanging in Q's R&D lab ... 🤔🤨 ... I'm pretty sure it's not just there for decoration.
I just realized what Q said ... *_"You might easily have KILLED him!"_* I don't think Q was talking about Bond. An early AI spy prototype, perhaps?
Radioactive pigment in the paint.
Nice touch when they brought back in Skyfall for the Walther PPK classic 😁👍

Timothy Dalton was Perfect as James Bond and had Sean Connery's Swag. He was so much more believable than Daniel Craig
Bravo! I couldn't agree more! Glad someone else thinks that about Daniel Craig.

Desmond never missed his "Q", when it came to top notch acting.

Technology is a Twin-edged sword ⚔️
Yes the picture in the Polaroid was very odd. Let alone the xray images.
So the new Q gave the old Qs gun to James Bond in the Skyfall!

She’d make a good spy. Could keep an eye on both sides of the street without even turning her head.

Two cameras. But still, it's a bit risky to assume the second is a real one.

This was my 1st Bond film I watched. I liked it bcuz it was set in South FL where I'm from. Wayne Newton & Benicio Del Toro were great additions to the film. I personally like Timothy Dalton in Living Day Lights a bit better than License to Kill.
Living daylights was a fun quintessential bond film. Licence to Kill was too dark.
@@oaf-77LTK was exactly what the franchise needed. Moore’s shenanigans were getting too fucking old and if they wanted to survive and stay relevant then that shit had go. (With all due respect to sir Roger)
My first Bond movie was A View To A Kill
I actually bought the photograph they used in this scene in a props auction last year! It's still holding up well after all these years. My wife can't understand why but it just reminds me of this movie and Dalton's run in general - underrated and ahead of his time
You have a forgery. My uncle worked on set for that movie and still has the photo to this day in his study along with various other props from other movies.
@@terrismith9095 Not exactly. There were actually several copies of the photo used for production (as your uncle would know if he truly worked in the movie business), so we'll never know.

There is a gun nowadays that has the biometrics thing. I don't remember the name, but I think that's more of a gimmick than actually useful. This would only be useful in a chance of somebody taking the gun from you, but for home defense, the biometric check could take longer than you need, so this would only be used in guns used on the range, which means there will be zero moments when the biometrics will fail...
Dalton and Carey made a good team. Craig, Dalton....and then everyone else.
The three of them were a perfect team, reminiscent of those old ITC series. Glamorous lead duo and the older expert off on adventures.
One should know never to touch Q's stuff without his ok.
Those are 222's... they were invented during the Viet Nam war, for the Americans. The bolt-action single-shot 222 is a very nice, accurate, and lethal rifle.
WHO cares dude? Oooh, you're a gun nut with a teeny weeney, so TF what?
Well sorry, but no. The .222 has a much longer neck. These were either .220 (as claimed), the .222 Magnum OR the .220 Swift. But yes, all of them (including the much better known .223) are high velocity accurate lethal rounds.

Dalton is one of my favorite Bonds It is so sad that he left the franchise because the lawsuit between the two companies took too long to resolve, so he didn't want to play James Bond anymore, he just gave up, since his contact was up and refused to resign it, he had a perfect Bond look.
So we got Pierce Brosnan who was great too We would have never gotten NWH like it was if Sony didn't reboot SM, 2 times
@@Pointman11111 Brosnan is good too, but did you know that Dalton and Brosnan were the choices at that time for the role and Dalton won over him? You see the company was after Dalton for years to play the Bond role because he had the looks, but he used to be refusing it because he was saying that he's too young, and when they finally got him, they ended up in a lawsuit, after living daylight and license to kill, and it run for 4 years so by the time they did ready for him to continue as Bond ,, he said no, so Brosnan got his role, because Dalton back out.
@@nemesisprime2993Actually Brosnan was given the role but couldn't get out of his contract for Remington Steele so it went to Dalton instead. It was down to one or the other.
