I'll give this reboot a chance. Although I didn't like new Eric's short haircut, I definitely like Bill Skarsgard as an actor.

I don't think it's meant to compare. The director said he's treating it like Dracula, Brandon Lee is like Bela Lugosi and this one is like Gary Oldman.

As a fan of the original and the comic book, I want this to succeed without question. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love the fresh take. As far as this being called "gore porn," I don't see it. Is it extremely violent, yes but so was the 1994 version, especially when it came to the death of Shelly. If people love the original 1994 version and have no intentions of seeing this because they prefer that version, then let that version be your version and remember The Crow as Brandon Lee. I just don't think it's fair to utterly slam this reimagining without seeing the full movie first (yes, I'm well aware the trailer gives away a lot). If you want to see this like I do, then go for it and, if you don't care for it, that's okay too. This might not break box office records, but I hope this does well because Bill is one talented actor, especially having crushed it as far as I'm concerned in It and It Chapter 2 as Pennywise 😊

This story has been done. The style of the 1994 Eric and movie fits the comic era well. Bill should have been able to play a newer era Crow. Or a character Michael that hasn't been done yet. It didn't need a reboot. It needed a modern epic sequel. Now you will force Bill to be compared to Brandon Lee. It takes away from his acting and talent. This could have been The Crow : Wild Justice.
I am so glad they dropped that pathetic "How Far Would You Go?" tagline they started using.

The Crow for Gen Z seriously looks as bad as his haircut. I wouldn't watch it for free.
