Im Maori from NZ myself but i love watching Samoan Rugby and you know what flattered me the most is that the generous Samoan Public spent there hard earn money helping there Team succeed at the World Cup 2011... They are Professional players and then end up getting $250 a week in NZ??? UNBELIEVABLE!!! The Samoan Rugby Union really need to get there act together they have the Talent to be World Beaters honestly!!!

It's know wonder why our boys are going elsewhere. And have a better future with other teams. They play any ways because they represent more then them selves. The represent our people, our culture, and our pride and yet still get treated like crap. We love you Many Samoa shame on you to those who are or have miss used the funds for our boys. And the club house really ?it looks like crap they should be ashamed of yourself cause our boys deserve much better. I'm a proud supporter of Many Samoa, and a Samoan

A man with your calibre of skills could easily go and play abroad but you continue to stay in Samoa and start up a booming rugby academy. Keep it up! Someone needs to uppercut the whooole management team for Samoa Rugby or else this type of unjustice will continue.

  • This is so sad for Manu Samoa and like all Pacific Nation, the Unions cater to the Boards pockets rather then the players. The talent in Samoa, Fiji and Tonga saddens to see how financially we can never compete with Tier One Nations due to the mismanaging. Gosh for players to pay their own fares to represent Manu shows commitment and love for Samoa. Corruption will ruin the Pacific Unions because the coverup is huge. Honesty is hard to find when poverty is present. God bless these players for speaking up and letting the truth be known. Go Manu Go

  • They should hire a lawyer and sue Samoa's rugby union for every tala that the team deserves!! then fire whole board/CEO and hire people who will handle financial matters the right way!!.. Too many of our stars are leaving the island to play for other countries and others that are Samoan from other countries are loosing their desires to play for the mother land!!! Like Mahonri said .. If we had all the players that could and should have played for Samoa the team would be solid as!!

If i were the players, I would sued the samoan rugby union board and make them pay back all the money they owe to the people of Samoa and the rugby team.Than i would fired every member on the board team. And i would put everyone on the samoa rugby union board in prison. And hire a honest & trustworthy group to be in charge of the Manu Samoa Rugby Team.

  • Corruption like this is inherent in less developed countries like Sāmoa, over time with more development this will hopefully diminish, but it needs a new leader that is willing to bring reform the political structure into one free from corruption.

    @chimpw1zard@chimpw1zard9 жыл бұрын
    • You say this like this is a newly reformed nation. Do you understand the history and culture that we as Polynesians have? (In this case Samoa). Pride, honor, dignity and truth have been a part of our culture for thousands of years (Maybe even B.C I am sure). This is not 'less developed nation issue'. This is just the classic- greedy men trying to make more $$$ from other men's work. If Tonga, Fiji and even Namibia can do it I am sure Samoa can. But it's not the case obviously.

      @rastafy4804@rastafy48049 жыл бұрын
    • ***** apologies, I don't mean 'developed' in terms of culture, the Fa'a Samoa and that of other cultures are things have that developed over thousands of years. Economically however, Samoa is still classed as a developing country and faces the same issues that other former European colonies face, corruption is one of them. I am full Samoan myself so please dispel any notion that I know nothing or have no appreciation for the situation, it matters to me as much as it does to all other supporters of the manu.

  • 2019 and corruption is still strong. Part of the problem is also our own people. The people that allow them to get away with it over and over and over again. Maybe it's because of pride in being a Samoan and standing up for your people no matter who it is or who its against and also the love for the country but I also fear its due to lack of knowledge and information as well as stubbornness. I see it in my parents every day and you can never say anything bad about the country or its people to them, no matter how wrong or how poorer we get because of some people and their beliefs are. • I don't think intervention from the NZRU will help. The only way up is education. These politicians are using our culture against the people, the notion of fa'a Samoa is powerful because people simply accept things as they are told to. Western educated Samoans living abroad need to invest back into the nation, it's a developing nation and it will continue to be one with these guys in power, so I think the only way that this can get better is if those who know better convey that message home.

Board Members should be questioned on where & what the money was spent. I dont understand why a PM would want to be a Chairman again taking into regards his own pay cheque from his salary. Samoa had produced some of the best Rugby players in the world and some of them have retired. Why dont they use them in the Samoa Rugby Union office.

  • This is where the next generation of Samoans MUST be different! Be it your Samoan and were born in NZ or Australia or any where... We are better then this BS!!! I don't know why some Samoans are so dishonest and greedy when it comes to money... I know it's part of human nature and can be said of any culture, but I seem to see it alot in our people!!!! We have to STOP this and do right! Samoa can seriosuly be a force in Rugby both Union and League!! Now is the time to stand and be counted!

  • People in Samoa and visitors alike. Needs to go somewhere else when they need a hotel. Dont do any business with they GREEDY ASS PEOPLE..Stay away from Pasefika Inn and her partner in crime. The Le Alaimonana Hotel. It was simple to see what they were doing..They found a loop hole in reclaiming the money that hard working people donated. Stay away from these two hotels. They got GREEDY. If they were really loved Manu Samoa. Why did they charge a penny? Especially since the owner belong to M/S

  • This is just a disgrace to Samoa and to the players playing for our own country representing Samoa but yet they have been given unfair treatment and poor management. Seriously needs to have an upgrade to the board.
