Agreed
I agree!
Whatever happens, Mr. Rock has every right to handle HIS situation in a way that HE needs.
And I'll always say will Smith should've been left laying on the floor assuming room temperature
And what do you mean by handle HIS situation in a way that he needs ?
Eye for an eye
@@kylerichardson4257 I mean that Mr. Rock's response would be unique to HIS need to be made whole; and, NOT mine or anyone else's call, IMO!
His pronounce is the point apparently.
I have great respect for Chris Rock. He was very mature in his reaction
Accepting humiliation isn't mature. I suspect about 75 million people were watching that night. That's the figure my lawyer would have sent to Smith's punk ass. A 75 million dollar lawsuit for assault, verbal abuse, creating a hostile environment at my place of employment, and emotional distress.
@yankcaptain3942 I am talking about his immediate reaction when it happened. If he has responded likewise, it would have ruined the whole Oscar for the day. It would have a shutdown for investigation. But his composure saved the day.
Will Smith’s actions is just another example of how black folks are more comfortable hurting other blacks. At previous award shows many white entertainers made fun of Jada and her Cuck hold relationship with Will Smith. Smith did nothing to them however slaps Chris Rock for a benign joke.
Yes indeed...it was a tutorial of pure Class! 💎
Chris handled that like a professional. I don’t think I could do that.
I Could not Either, the slap would have got returned with a punch to the mouth or a swift kick in the Nutz...or Both...
I know I would have hit back!!
Because he got punked
I agree. I would have been beating Will Smith's ass right there on that stage! It would have been him or me at that point!
Honestly I think he wanted to swing back but controlled himself at the last second
Like Michelle coined the term, " when they go low, we go high" Chris went high, and that's admirable.
Chris went low the joke was not in a rehearsal script with the same audience train to laugh
@@dontwowheels1564 quit simping for Will. The audience doesn't hear the jokes beforehand. It's a roast. You're weak.
@@JustAnotherConspiracyTheorist maybe you should look at the interview of the director he asked Chris backstage was the slap real or something him and Will made up. They do rehearsal with the audience present and even if they didn't it's widely known Jada joke was not in the script. A man can't simp for another man stop riding Chris wood He probably mad he had to play a girl to get his start in Prince of Bel-Air.
The Smith family is like a Jerry Springer show.....just trash 👍🏾😂
Chris Rock has always been a Hero in my book, this elevated him totally iconic 🙌🏾👑
The same guy that kept laughing when his two white comedian friends kept using the N-word REPEATEDLY in front of him on a talk show??lol...FOH!!!
Shows how much of a real man Chris Rock really is. He said shit was weak, petty, and kept it rollin' without missing a step
Well in society it's all about masculinity! Who's the baddest or strongest! Don't believe me go listen to Dwayne Johnson and LL Cool J
They described Chris as "publicly assaulted and humiliated". Yeah he was assaulted but he wasnt humiliated by any means. He had an important job to do so he, literally, rolled with the punches and kept the show rolling. Personally I think he handled it perfectly. he acknowledged it, then finished the job he was there to handle and he did so with grace. Edit; Definition of Humiliate-- make (someone) feel ashamed and foolish by injuring their dignity and self-respect, especially publicly. At no point did Chris Rock appear to be ashamed nor did he look foolish to me. No one can take your dignity or your self-respect, you have to lose it. Chris Rock never lost his dignity or his self-respect and he stayed composed the entire time. If anything it was Will Smith who was humiliated because he failed to maintain his dignity over what was a harmless joke that was not told with malicious intent.
He was by the way Smith talked to him afterwards. He was.
I agree! ✌🏾
Any publicity is good publicity when you're in show business but it doesn't change that being slapped infront you're peers is humiliating.

Facts
It’s still painful and embarrassing to watch, cringe. But I was SOOOO impressed with Chris’ reaction. Will was only remorseful because of backlash. If everyone said. Cool! He deserved it, he would have puffed his chest even more. Chris was the real man!
Very true.
Will is trash now everyone knows
If it was Joe Rogan or even Dave Chapelle hosting, Will Smith would have never have gone on stage to slap the host.
Chris Rock handled the situation with dignity and class. I admire him for the way he handled himself.
getting assaulted does lead to dignity. If Chris had any dignity he would sued him.
Chris is a true pro. I guarantee 99% of people would not have been as cool, calm, and collected after that slap. No chance.
That's how he is. He couldn't even correct two WHITE "friends" of his when they kept using the N-word in front of him, REPEATEDLY! He a douche!
I guess the terms of his contract for the gig was also a factor. He stood to lose significant money if he had retaliated
I am proud to say that Chris grew up in the same Borough as I did . In Brooklyn this could have happened any day you went to the park . You just suck it up and keep on pushing . Of course Will would have to be careful not to encounter his brother at another park . That would not have been handled in the same way
@@yogunyemi I promise you, there’s nothing in his contract that said if you get slapped on stage, you are prohibited from retaliating.
I agree with you 100%.
Chris is the bigger man, Big Respect to Chris.
Chris Rock handled this like a truly artist and Gentleman could of sued like they said and got a lit of money But Chris did not Shows what a real Gentleman he is Peace and Love to all Righteous People
Yeah I heard a lot of comedians not only just amateurs but professionals as well say there are certain things I'm afraid to say now on stage cuz after this whole slap incident I'm afraid I'm going to be the victim of an assault.
Chris Rock is my hero. I can't even express my admiration for him. He took the highest Road possible.and made not just Will Smith, but his whole family look like narcissistic weak and shallow people on the lowest road to ruin.
@Carlos Near. Chris Rock got what he asked for. He has debouched Jada's name on several occasions now he wants to play victim after her husband slapped the taste out of his mouth. Serves him right. You don't make jokes of a man's wife with a physical condition like that in front of the world.
@@lamontewilliams3011 , HE IS A COMEDIAN; DELIVERY OF A JOKE, DO NOT GIVE JUST CAUSE FOR VIOLENCE. WHAT'S NEXT; A STRIPPER GETTING SHOT FOR FARTING DURING A LAP DANCE?👌
Lamonte Williams, you seem like a complete moron. Jokes are just that and if Chris Rock wanted to embarrass Will Smith, he would have pressed charges and had him taken out in hand cuffs. I couldn’t imagine handling a situation like that with so much cool. I would have swung back. No doubt. Just as a reaction. Chris Rock handled this situation like a champ.
I'm happy for Rock! He composed himself with dignity and is prosperous for being a bigger man than that chump who disgraced himself because his wife gave him a look. Mad props to Chris!
Chris Rock is a man, you never slap another man, unbelievably disrespectful for a man to slap another man, especially on Live TV

That's what you say to a bigger man changes your prospective, if you not a killer and knuckle up you end up slapped and knocked out. And might piss and shit on yourself while knocked out. Seen it happen.
I don't think to much of smith.
@🎥TV Classics & Gaming Premiers🎮 Snoop 100 pounds soaking wet. He wouldn't have had to. Everybody body thought something similar. Like Jada looking like Queen of the Omniverse from Pitch Black staring Vin Desiel . But Chris tried to have a nigga moment at the wrong place. Yeah he could get away with it at a show low-key but the Oscar's he had Will fucked up. He would have never went there on a white A list actors wife on there night. Knowing she had a medical problem imagine if that was DiCaprio and his wife had a medical issue and Chris got a joke like that off. He would have been drug through the mud and never worked again.
Cris should have put a boot on smiths ball's.
Chris came out as a winner at the end, Will just made a fool of himself 😅

Chris is giving him the cold shoulder as rightfully he should.
I really admire how Chris Rock didn't let that event bring him down. It's like John Kreese from Cobra Kai once said to a student of his. When something bad happens, you have 2 choices. You let it tear you down or you let it build you up. Chris obviously let it build him up.
It's an event that is broadcast all over the WORLD, and Chris rose to the challenge. Will, on the other hand, failed miserably.

This wasn't the first time Chris made a "joke" at the expense of Will's wife at an awards show. How many times is Will supposed to laugh at jokes Chris makes about his wife. Alopecia comes in so many different ways but it's caused when the immune system attacks your hair follicles. I had it before and it caused bald spots in my head which I shaved my head, rubbed cream on it and it grew back, that was like 15 years ago. If you stare at jades hair she shows no signs of it at all, it would be crystal bald either entirely or in spots, she has no signs of bald patches or fully bald her hair is clearly there just really really short. Look at Dave Chappelle's head compared to hers, his head is how her head would look so I want to question that alopecia claim.

And the joke about GI Jane 2 was super light to the point of it was nice. Hopefully you've seen GI Jane and know what it's about. If not, it's about a woman who was a recruit in the Marines(which was all male), they were treating her differently because she was a woman, so what she did was shave off all her hair because she didn't want any special treatment and wanted to be treated not as all the other men, but wanted to be treated as a Marine recruit. The movie, which was based on a true story, was more about women's empowerment and equality of outcome. So if anything, that mild joke of "Jada, can't wait to see you in GI Jane 2" should've been taken more as a compliment than an insult. Now that Rihanna joke he said that year when she decided to boycott the Oscar's, while funny and true, that one was more offensive. Also, if I went to a comedy show, if I couldn't take a joke, I would've sit front row. Everybody knows that comedians always pick on people there when they do crowd work.
Chris has said he didn't know about her condition and there's no reason to assault someone over a joke. People need to put on their big girl panties. Hence the reason they hire comedians to do shows. They roast people. It's what they(all) do
//: I think eventually he will forgive, gonna take time. Chris is a brave and carragous man.
