Will Connor McDavid catch Nikita Kucherov for the Art Ross Trophy?
Just because we're heading into the long weekend doesn't mean that we're not offering up our usual dose of Friday afternoon Oilers talk. This week, we're recapping the Oilers' big win over LA, Connor McDavid's Art Ross Trophy hunt, depth scoring, and more.
Kicking off the podcast, we started with a delicious debate about how Kris Knoblauch should dole out playing time down the stretch. Even though there's still plenty to play for right now, that may not necessarily be the case after the Oilers clinch a playoff spot. Would it make sense to sit some of the stars for a game or two if the team can lock in a second-place finish?
We also looked back at last night's win over the Los Angeles Kings and how that performance was one of the Oilers' best defensive efforts that we've seen in quite some time. Despite the Kings playing the trap, it was the Oilers that really didn't give up much of anything. Outside of their lone goal in the third period, the Kings struggled to get much done despite firing a ton of shots from the perimeter.
Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a handful of Ask the Idiots questions submitted by listeners, some betting talk for Bet99, and another round of Hot and Cold Performers before winding things down with some score predictions ahead of tomorrow's matchup with the Anaheim Ducks.

The NHL is basically telling the players they can go out and get some nasty shots in, That Hague hit last night was only 2 mins against the Jets , The Oilers should waste a nice one right on Lizottes melon next game that's out of reach
IMO....No load management .... chemistry is needed. KAne is a mess.. plus you can beat out the Canucks....IMO...Bottom line ~ We are gonna find out how good this team is in the playoffs.... you cant extrapolate anything from the reg. season..... if Bouchard comes and hits and everyone on the team commits like him....it could be a great season.... YOU JUST DONT KNOW....If they end up playing Vegas as is scheduled as of today.... with a healthy Stone??? IT's a really really tough 1st round.... and they have Hertl with Eichel.... Vegas and Colorado are stalwarts. IF it comes down to the last game of season for the Art Ross vs. COLORADO and Nathan?? MCDAVID HAS TO play to win the Art Ross.... screw the team nonsense play one last game and take down the Ross.!!! That's my 2 cents. Screw the humble BS.... attack the Ross & Sweep the LEG !!!
