    • @@hr9467 yes, but there weren't any huge mechanical differences between combos. Either way, we are in the age of online updates, so it could happen and be eventually balanced.

    • @@straawberryfieldsforever because that is what you call "meta". In regular online courses you can absolutely use almost any possible combo and win. In competitive it has always been the case everyone uses the same combo in order not to get easily targeted. Obviously there are combos that are better than the others but the balance is a thousand times better than MKW

  • You should really be on manual for this thing, automatic makes you drift automatically when you turn hard enough, but manual makes you drift only when you hop, so you can take turns tighter on manual because you can just hold a direction without starting a drift and losing your all your angular momentum

  • I think the driving style is moreso meant to be using the sharp turning plus braking and good lines, not the weird shimmy that you're doing. If anything, that's probably a happy accident that that works as well as it does.

    • Braking would not be a good idea in a vehicle that can already make the turns at full speed. Automatic is meant to be played by only using handling to turn and avoiding drifting by not turning hard for too long because the handling is very high and drift very low.

    • You're right, it's Pac-Man World Rally's Cloud Garden. Pretty sure that's the first track in the game (like the equivalent of Luigi Circuit). I grew up with it. It's an interesting game, not as good as Mario Kart, but it has some cool tracks I'd recommend 🙂

  • the one at 15:00 is from Katamari, and in that game you actually play as the rolling balls that are the obstacles on this map! in the game you can roll up F1 drivers, so make sure you watch out Troy!

  • Really nice to see more coverage of the Deluxe distribution. "Track And The Beanstalk" (9:00) and "Evilocity" (10:30) are tracks Crash Tag Team Racing, which is the third game in the Crash Racing series. They are the 5th and 6th track of the game and are 2 of the 3 "Happily Ever Faster" set of tracks, which are all Fairy Tale themed. CTTR was basically Mario Kart Double Dash, but with guns and turrets. "Cloud Gardens" (13:04) is from Pac-Man World Rally, a Pac-Man Kart Racer, and is the first track of that game featured in the Cherry Cup. "King's Kourse" (14:59) is another track from the game, featured in it's Retro Cup Grand Prix. This track is based off of the Katamari series. The Prince from that game was also an unlockable character. It's a game definitely worth checking out. "Special Stage" (16:25) is a Sonic CD track, based off one of the special stages you play in order to get a Chaos Emerald. "Grand Metropolis" (18:55) is based off one of the locations from Sonic Hero.

  • This is a wild guess, but: in real/sim racing, the "skid" you are experiencing is called understeer, which happens when you try taking a corner too fast. Maybe they coded the kart in a way that you have to slow down and/or break before the turn so you can take it properly and star accelerating again at the apex of the turn. Maybe its just auto drifting thats messing you up also.

  • Just used this vehicle online in Deluxe and it's pretty viable. They did a good job. It takes a minute to adjust to, but once you've got it down it can really compete for podiums.

  • The track on 13:05 is from pac-man world rally. It’s a pretty fun game but it’s also a bit weird you can unlock new items and you can play as a devil version of Pac-Man 16:30 is a special stage from Sonic cd 17:37 is from Sonic Adventure DX, there’s an extra section in twinkle park where you can play this race track with any character

  • Fun Fact: The Sprinter is called B-Dasher MK2 in the PAL regions. Mario's kart in Mario Kart DS is called the B-Dasher. Both are based on F1 Cars.

  • The way the F1 Classic exists sorta reminds me of how the Fire Stingray in F-Zero works. BIGGEST sorta. Stingray has really high top speed, low acceleration, and absolutely INSANE handling. So it takes corners really well even if you only slow down a little. It doesn't have that weird turning that this vehicle does though. It's just got insane handling and the skill ceiling is insanely high but satisfying.

  • love the ctr tracks something unfortunate tho is how some things don't quite work in this game like they do in ctr for example in crash cove, taking that pirate ship route for the extra item just shoots you out way off course like you did at 3:58 in ctr you have way more control in the air and you can actually take it without slowing down and getting a huge boost too

  • I feel like it would be better to use the Sprinter with Manual drift so you can take advantage of its handling stat instead of being forced to use its drift stat after a second of turning. That way you could navigate the course much more smoothly instead of having to turn in small increments like you do in the video.

  • PMWR = Pac-Man World Rally IMO pretty fun kart racer, can get stupidly tough in the higher difficulties. CTTR is Crash Tag Team Racing, an alright game though IMO the worst of the Crash racing games.
