JB is the man. Taught me so many great techniques while at B Team.
Lol I love the more calm personalities sometimes, it makes a nice balance
JB is definitely one of the best guys in Austin. After taking a few private lessons with him i can say he taught me my 'A' guard passing sequence and a few of my go to takedowns. Huge value in the private lessons and id recommend scheduling one if you want to up your game.
Had the opportunity to take a class with him last week. A+++ guy
I want to see a video of Gundle telling me how to flip turtles online next
Dirty ankle pick by Jay Rod at 15:55
You can hear the meaty slap
At 15:30 he's can opening the shit out of someone haha
Is your name a children of time reference
Recently starting hitting the exact pick with surprising success. Its a relatively low risk move and tends to yield good offensive opportunities even when it fails.
11:25 J Rod can opener

These 2 on 1 techniques are so good
Wild shit 👀 10:07

Im gonna spam these videos untill we get what we want, nicky ryan for the love of god drop a standing instructional
You see a lot of baseball grip two on one in Greco, where you frequently see contact initiated with wrist ties, rather than collar ties. Cool system
Greco is the shit 👌 I've noticed that too, when I started studying it to supplement my folkstyle wrestling experience. I love me a sweep single but there's something just so satisfying about dragging an opponent to the floor with just upper body grips/attacks.
Greco is so cool. Related, Dan Sweeney did some analysis for the NCAA tournament and found that 50% of pins came from two large groups of techniques: cradles and upper body throws straight into a pin. I think the old wisdom that throws are too risky should be reevaluated.
The most common response I get is people circling away from the 2on1. I normally just drop to a single leg but is there a better followup from my end?
12:12 Rod bros in the back 💀💀💀💀
nick ryan is a beast...
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK 10:05 he pulls off sorcery like the cartwheel backtake on Sousa - he’s seeing it all on a different level
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Kirchuck is a beast
Check jayrods ankle pick at 15:58 😮
JB is the motherfucking man!!
🤟
What is JB's rank?

What if he goes for a headlock w his free right arm? Does he reach? Is that an option?
easy duck under
Not that low on the wrist. If does work off the Russian, because you will have elbow control. But with the wrist they can slip to the back. But that drag is not a great option in my opinion. With the two on one, you have something he doesn’t. When you go to the drag and step in with that leg, you and him are now 50/50. He has a drag and so do you. In Greco, we are taught to step in with the opposite leg. Then it blocks him from spinning around in a circle-something you see all the time in Jiu Jitsu, because again, it’s 50/50.
@@josephbreza-grappling9459 It sounds like stepping in with the opposite leg off the arm drag would deny you access to the back wouldn’t it? What other options are there from that position?
@@scarysun15 no because you block their hip and pull them forward to their hands, and you are in an excellent position to take the back. You actually have inside hip control, which you can use classic wrestling to break down the quad pod. Lots of times he goes to his back, but you end up in side control or mount. Against a legitimate athlete, I give him an opportunity to take my back from the traditional merry go round arm drag. People have to take what is available and stop glamorizing what they want. Taking the back from a standing position isn’t exactly safe. If someone goes straight to the back and doesn’t wrap up the legs, then they are going to get makikomi’ed or knee barred. Look how long people stay on the single in BJJ. Like 15s without making anything happen. Same happens when people get to the back. When I wrestled in college, if you didn’t start to get a legitimate threat off a single within 0.5s, then chances of getting the takedown goes downhill exponentially
@@scarysun15 options from the greco arm drag. Learned this from my collegiate coach, who was head coach of the greco Olympic and greco world team kzhead.info/sun/g9R9ca2CmpZ5lYE/bejne.htmlsi=LkwvGuL5gRKBgOoS Never went back to the merry go round 50/50 JV armdrag Admittedly, I did what everyone else did until I got to college and realized there’s a better way to do things. You don’t need to rely on getting their sooner and with more aggression. Proper technique solves a lot of problems

why he would let go your wrist for you to go to his back in the arm drag?
The longer he tries to hold the wrist, the better the arm drag works actually. Try it and you’ll see
@@johannesandersson9477 hummm... interesting... I'll try for sure. Thank you.

He should be going over toe-hold escapes
Yup. JB is the shit! B Team is the shit!
forfth
JB's awesome and I respect him, but his jits is rather unimpressive to spectate
I’m sure that Nicky Ryan makes a lot of people’s jits look unimpressive.
Based on what?
