  • doubloon comes from the spanish doblon , basically meaning "two" or "double." It was basically a slang term for two coins, and became a coin itself as 2 coins became such a common price for goods that 1 double-coin became prominent.

  • Really cool, love how far games have come, to the point where you can just throw them together right in your home computer with a few downloads. I think you should have the skeletons spawn in the water just on the edge so it looks like a smoother spawn, and they’d just be drowned pirates that went down with their ship

It can be a great option to increase the difficulty by choosing the better option at the right moment and by that, increase the durability of the game.

  • Hey , love t watch ur content !! inspiring !! I have a great idea to add in on the game ; a function to the pirate ship, make the current one more shipwrecked with some dmg on and as you progress the lvl you can fix it and make it sails work and add cannons to it and it will either circle the map or be in a selective spot so the ship helps you clear the mobs. ( just how the cannon work now ) but way cooler if it shoots cannons from the ship. Also as could add in crew member character's so it looks like they are firing the cannons. ( or circle the island on the ship ) could potentially make it look even cooler. Perhaps in the future, add in a broker store on a different island a distance away, that can only be reached after the ship is completely fixed and the players has to sail to that island to get even further bonus tier upgrades, could be a instance where the game pauses ( when on ship the game run time is paused , no new lvl until ready for next stage ) , or use the house as a start next stage. I dunno, maybe add some effects and voice overs, default effect and default voice over ( arhhh or some ) xd and then some more sound effect on the gun that can be upgraded as u progress , also on the cannon effect ( leaves small fire mark , ground effect, very little smoke, ) does not impact the game progress , but does make it a bit more fun to have different options as one progress. Perhaps try to create a default holding animation on the player character , is a bit weird he always hold it the current way and seems to unrealistic, just make different one, a two part shooting animation, the one you have now and 1 more before shooting, then create a different one when your not shooting ( could be something around, changing the stance or drawing out the gun before the shooting animation into that animation ) might be hard to do , but this just ideas, either like it or not ( several ideas usually helps regardless and brings new things to light ) Or even better one , make the character able to drink beverages and the more you progress the more piratey he becomes, like wobbly etc.. this gotta effect him in a funny way on the walk/running animation and as well of the gun holding ( like a real drunk pirate with a gun ) his arm with the gun is more focused and not that affected, but his right arm can be a bit more wobbly after drinking each round and same with the rest of the character animation. Make his running animation like jack sparrow, but then you might need to also increase the fov or the camera input to be a little further away from the character so one can see it. Could maybe try to make a pirate flag with editable logo/appearance, that goes on to the house and ship. ( or simply just have one default as a start point to reference a pirate, a flag with skull on ) Could also try make the environment look better even with the current assets you used. Anyway that's about it , was fun to watch this video like always. keep at it, i enjoy this content. Impressive you made something with just a few things.

So many of us would love to have a 'base building' open world to just mess around in that also looks beautiful. GMOD outdated. Unreal, too much to learn vs. the simplicity it could have. Twin Motion 80% there, but missing module assets, better library for world building, and of course, no open ended sound engine. There is a need and desire for such a beast. Yet, it goes completely ignored. Money on the table!

  • Is it possible to download things like better motion capture animations for stickfigures that are attachable to your 3D character models to simulate running, jumping, crouching, going prone, climbing over a wall or onto an elevated surface, aiming, shooting...etc from UE5 community sites? And can you download entire working vehicle models, mechanisms, machines...etc from those sites too, like you can for Gmod? And are all those downloadable UE5 assets, free and those selling for a price, made using only UE5 by those who upload them?

  • Nicely done. Thoughts for the August assets. Put museum in Venice and have pirate ship docked out at the ocean, then in row boat navigate through Venice waterways to museum, steal some art and then escape back to the ship and then navigate through the coral reef to escape with your plunder....

    • Lol, nice way to use all the assets. I usually let myself get away with just using one or two. Though my results have been extremely lackluster lately, and I'm totally blocked on what to do for this month.

    • @@nemysisretrogaming3771 unfortunately I've been completely swamped with real life stuff lately. I'm thinking maybe just uploading a short animation this month might even be difficult.
