Thank you so much for the information, Bery! I've been to Turkey four times as a tourist and would love to live there, maybe for a while, maybe for the whole life. Since last year I've been studying Turkish to really get involved in the culture. Salaries are not high as in some other countries but the quality of life is very good and the experience of living there is priceless. I'm a Brazilian who has already lived in Germany, have Spanish citizenship but the country that really captured my heart is Turkey. Greetings from Brazil!
Have you visited Greece? Its very close in culture (if not identical) and the economy is better with EU citizenship. If you buy properties worth 200.000€, you get instant citizenship.
Turkey is much better. Turkish is easier to learn (it uses similar alphabet as English), cost of living is lower, people are friendlier, there's more variety, and more growth in future (unlike Greece).
@@aliasgharkhoyee8911 I agree with you... altough turkish leanguage seems to be a hell to learn!... another advantage is that they are not so dependant from EU like Greece... they are more free... if you see what I mean...
@@questmarq7901 sorry buddy, been in Greece once, and can say for sure that these two countries are incomparable... you can see/do/experience soooo much more in Turkey than in Greece... and people in Turkey are much more warm and friendlier as well... so... Turkey for sure!
@@aliasgharkhoyee8911 Hahaha hilarious! Take a lira to buy Imamoglu's cheap loaf of bread but do it now because tomorrow it will cost even more!
Thank you so much for this really well done video! I appreciate how open you were about your own costs and that you listed everything so transparent. This video is very very helpful! It’s gold! Thank you!!
Hi Bery: I congratulate you for your videos and for all the work that you do to make and publish them, together with your husband. This is a valuable contribution to get to know Turkey and to help travelers who are going to visit that interesting and beautiful country. Carry on with enthusiasm and dedication. You are doing very well.
Very insightful Bery! Great info for anyone visiting Turkey!

Thank you Neil! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks , very helpful . My son lives in Istanbul and really loves the place and the people
During August of 2019 I travelled to Istanbul and Bodrum with my wife for 14 days total. I liked Istanbul, but absolutely fell in love with Bodrum. The people, culture, history and food left such an impression that I returned to Bodrum during October of 2020, by myself, for 21 days to study the town so that I can make a move and live there. Living in California is great but Bodrum is so much nicer. I am now in the process of getting everything ready to actually make the move. Can't wait! Thank you for this video and the information provided. çok teşekkür ederim
Cennete hoşgeldin.
Thats awesome. If u dont mind sharing how u verified the agents u bought through and any useful property or agent links other than the government website.
Keep us updated, I am also thinking of moving from California to Southern Turkey
Did you move in there yet ?

Glad you enjoy it!
Very well said ❤️👍
Istanbul a dream place,n I love Turkish series,plan 2 visit,your video is helpful n informative.👍
New subscriber because you do an excellent job at explaining essential information. You are also very beautiful! The salary vs. cost of living for expats is great. The US and Canada are extremely expensive countries to live in and most people are drowning in debt. Nobody has health insurance in the US at their jobs, either.
Your videos are always informative ❤️❤️
Glad you like them!
Realmente me gustó mucho tu video, muy informativo 👏🏻👏🏻
thanks for the tips
this is a very good, thorough video! I appreciate it. I wanted to live in Turkey at one time, but I feel like there are too many people moving there now. I've been to Istanbul and absolutely loved it. Not sure I'd like to live there with so many people moving there now lol
You ROCK! Way to go girl!!
Thanks for the info Bery. I like to use Airbnb for 3-4 month stays as utility bills are included. Have a blessed day.

Very informative , Good job 👍
Thank you!
Excellent video!
Hi Bery how are you doing,we are freezing and cold in Boston and living with travel restrictions........your information is very helpful and looking forward to visit Turkey sometimes this year.....take care.
Yeah, this info is pretty accurate, and the prices are all the same as I have faced here in Istanbul (Sisli) too. With the low currency it's a good time to buy/invest here (with foreign currency), but not so good for selling. If the currency goes back to where it was even a year or two ago (not to mention five years ago) then you'd make some good profit (or some significant gains with your salary in Turkish lira). The thing is, we don't know what will happen! But at the moment, foreign retirees here are at a big win.
wow, I am a “poor” American citizen living in New York / California for most of my life. After seeing this video and costs you listed, I am now convinced that I would be a very wealthy Turkish citizen if I convert my USD to TL 😂😭. Thankyou for the information! I have a new positive outlook on life. time to move and live like a king in Istanbul 💰😎💰📈
Wow! But NY and CA are very expensive to live even in the USA living standards 😀 I love CA btw! If you are convinced that Turkey would be a great place to start over again, try it! Just make sure not to have any debts in your home country’s currency because then exchanging TL into USD to pay them will be a big pain 😬 But I don’t know, if you already own a house/flat there, rent it and that money you can have it monthly in USD to use here! Wowww that would be amazing! In my case, I’m also renting my home in Mexico and after paying my loan to the Mexican bank I still get good money to use here.
You would be rich here. I am amazed at how well you can live here for. I was born in California, most of my adult life in AZ which is cheaper, and I was stunned at the prices here. Not to mention the people and how nice some of them can be. And when I work, I make more than avg household income in the U.S. and CA or NY I would never live in due to the cost.
Keep your American citizin and get resident card .you do not have to lose your orginal citizen ship ...
You would enjoy every luxurious life in Turkey. I would suggest that you visit Turkey to get a "feel for it"... Travel a bit. Go south and see Fethiye, Antalya, Analya, Bodrum... you could live in a beautiful apartment overlooking the Aegean sea or the Mediterranean, and these places are even cheaper than Istanbul.
@@sglasgowaz can you give me usa visa or sponsor me?
Hi Bery..... Congratulations from India. Your videos are highly informative... Keep going ahead... Thrilled with Istanbul tips
Interesting tips and Information (bilgi).. Useful for those who r interested in settling at Turkey. Please do little information on Izmir particularly Cesme area and jobs around those place for English speaking expats.🙏 Turkey is a very beautiful country. I have seen coastal Izmir through many dizis that I watched.
Very informative, thanks a lot.I would like to live in Istanbul for a while when I retire.Greetings from sunny Montenegro🙂
You’re very welcomed here! Greeting to the beautiful Montenegro 🤗❤️
Great video 😌
Muchísimas gracias por vuestros vídeo!!! Muy interesante!!!
Un placer para mi poder compartir todo esto con ustedes ❤️
Very informative indeed as I my myself planning to invest properties in Istanbul soon but before that I need to obtain residency permit.
Thanks for your hard work
My pleasure!
Only one frustrated dislike it. Amazing video! As always informative and easy to understand.
Not all are happy 🤣🤷🏻♀️ They will always find a “reason” to dislike something, as far the video is useful for most of you I feel happy and successful 💪🏻
Depending on the channel, either a bot will dislike or it's simply someone saying not interested in the content that is in their main feed. KZhead needs to change that.
You did a good job explaining. Good video. You're a beautiful woman. Good luck to you! I love Turkish TV series! Lol
Very informative video, thank you for taking the time. I noticed you did not touch base on health care and health insurance.
It is good.. Don't worry
Great information, thank you so much. One question on the rental agreement for the tourist residence permit. Does it need to be for the whole time you plan to be there or can it be for the time of the tourist visa in case you don't get approved?
A lot of necessary information. I think it could be the most difficult to find job for me. Now I work as customer service specialist with Polish and English languages. I think can be more difficult find such of the job in Turkey. However I am not plan to moving but I wish to visit this country again and of course lovely Istanbul. All the best for you Bery. Greetings and thanks for this video 😍😊
Bery!we love your info. From Pak.
Thanks for the information though am late here
Thank you bery for this video, however if you have a chance to do a presentation about (US citizens planning to retire in turkey). Some tricks & tips about collecting the money there (ATMs, Banks...) also if you can recommend good places for american expats that would be very helpful. Thanks a lot
Thank you for this video, I live in USA, and I'm guessing Turkey is very nice place for my retirement. 👍
Very informative Berry and you look lovely .

Great video. Very informative! I am thinking of buying a flat in Istanbul since I am now retired and would like to spend more time in Turkey. Can you please shed some light on prices (in general terms) in Istanbul? Location/area is important since I will be using mostly public transportation for getting around the city. Teşükkür ederim
Hi Bery, Another great video and full of information 👍 Regarding mobile phones will my phone/simcard or both get blocked if I don't register it? Also is the fee a one off or do you have to pay every year. Tessukur Ederem
Hi!! Thanks for watching! Yes, the device will be locked within 120 days if the registration hasn’t been paid. Is a one-time payment 🤗
@@BeryIstanbulTips Thanks
Thanks bery
Good information
Very good I information
Took me months. Started in August and just got my card last month. I was going to do everything myself, but I went through a third party just to make my fiancee happy and less worried, which wasn't smart. My plan was to apply at the end of Sept since I moved here in July since you had 90 days on your visa and once you file, you are not here illegally. I just didn't know it would take so long.
Your video is excellent.
Thank you!😊
Excellent video. Please give some information about medical facilities specially for elderly people.
Full of information ℹ️
Thank you!
@@BeryIstanbulTips Great video! How is the current real estate? Can one survive in Istanbul with rental income if purchased a flat in areas such as Kadikoy, Atasehir, Kartal, or Beylikduzu? How much rent can be expected from a 1+1 or 2+1 in these areas and is there demand post covid?
👍👍👍👍❤️👍👍👍👍 Thank for useful information
Thank you or the information and the time you put into making the video. I am wondering if you could shed light on if it is really difficult for expats to obtain jobs outside of teaching? I read on a website that foreigners are seldom hired and was wondering if this is really true. If so, it may take longer for us to immigrate because we will need to be employed before arriving.
Very good information
Thanks for watching us!
Can I get your email
Nice informative vlog. Pls make video on buying property from genuine parties.
Hey Berry excellent video yet again!! I hung to ever word you said. If you can clarify for me the expected salary for an expat I would be grateful. I'm a nurse in Canada and I was told I can't find work as a nurse there so I was thinking of taking an English teaching course. Is the expat higher salary standard based on something legal or a norm? How do I ensure when I go for an interview that I'm being offered a good wage not being treated in an underhanded manner. Thank you so much for taking the time to help us all out. Also, with my background (I do have 2 undergraduate degrees) do you think I could find a well paying job in import/export despite not having the experience? Warmest Regards.
God bless you and your family
Thank you! God bless you too! 🙏🙏
Very informative, thank you! Are there any other cities you reccomend to get the residency permit faster? And do you have to be renting in that city? Would AirbnB qualify?
This is a good question. It should be answered
Hi! You can get the residence permit faster in smaller cities BUT you must live there and have a flat rental contract. You cannot live for example in Istanbul and apply for the ikamet (residence permit) in Izmir. Not sure if airbnb is suitable to qualify as before since also they ask some papers from the owners such as TAPU and other things, those things changed some years ago.
Excellent
I am from Bangladesh. I love from Turkey. I love çagatay ulusoy
Much love all the way to Bangladesh! 🇧🇩
I love Bangladesh and turkey they're both beautiful Nations 💕💕💕 from the US
Great video, Please do a new video, as I am sure a lot has changed in last 3 years :)
Very informative! Where are you from?
This is so helpful! Thank you! Can you renew your tourist residency each each? How long does it last?
Yes you can! But at the end of the day the decision and time after the first one is up to the migration department. The first one for tourist purposes is given for up to 1 year.
Greetings From Bodrum Turkey
I speak three languages and I am interpreter , working health tourism do I have to speak Turkish in order to interpreter .I love your channel. Thank you

Thank you for watching! Yes! Is possible doing that, is a special process for that purpose but it is possible, many also have opened businesses here :) I don’t know the process but I know it can be done 🤗
