During this video I discus a jump that I lead down in Skydive Nagambie at the Fall fest boogie. This skydive was a beginner Angle Skydive. Various do's and don'ts are discussed during this debrief as well as the common mistakes that people make and why they do them as well as some tips on how to combat this habits and break through to progression.
A lot of what happens during this is quite common when learning angles. Not only can beginners take something from this but also other coaches.
If you have any questions or comments please leave them below in the comment section. Happy to discus other techniques and ideas that people have.

  • Briefing a 2000 meter limit, "If you are not in the group, make sure you get a safe pullspot" could help reduce such situations. Thanks for the content!

  • My course of action for someone falling far behind the group is for them to break off perpendicular to the jump direction, so that they are no longer tracking towards the group, rather, they are parallel to the jumper that's potentially closest to them during break off. Of course this only really works if they are on level as well. The "sunk out" scenario is a tricky one, for sure.

    • Yep, it is tricky. sometimes you have 2 out the back so it can be tricky what to do. I find if They lose us off the door then the group straight away, this can have other implications compared to if they lost the group at the end of the jump. So many small variations can have such a large difference in how you would react. I remember 2 jumps at the last foot fetish where 2 experienced jumpers fell behind on separate jumps but the same day. both situations decided to break off early but didn't see the other person, both situations had someone go thought e others' canopy because they thought no one else was around. full coincidence. crazy shit.

    • Wouldn't perpendicular from the jump direction possibly be up jump run?

    • If I'm leading a group, I tend to set a "stop chasing" height about 1000ft above break-off. If anyone is not with the group at that height, stop the movement, try to count all group members if possible or have a decent look all round then do a big slow wave-off and deploy being mindful they may not be the only one not able to get to the group. Ultimately, I guess you don't want too many fliers in a group when you don't yet know their abilities

  • Hello, I'm from Argentina, your channel is very good! question, you can fly 2 and practice one from the back and the other from the front, but with only 2 people

    • Yep, You definitely can. that's how I learnt in the beginning. just me and a mate, 1 back 1 belly. we did about 5-10 jumps on that orientation each and then switched position.

  • Hello! practice the exit with the posture for angle 3 jumps and yesterday I jumped with a more experienced guy who flew back and what happened to me is that it is aligned but very high above the flying back, how do I have to do to level if it happens to me again that is very low?
