The Alfa and the Porsche look bloody good next to each other in that garage Jeff, what a pair of classics
You should add reinforcing plates to the sway bar mounts. The factory mounts are simply not up to track use. Wevo (and probably others) make pre-formed mounts that get welded in.
I second this. It even looks like it would be relatively trivial to weld a plate along the inner edge of the mount to the frame behind it.
It looks so cool seeing the alfa and porsche parked in the same garage.
Only recently came across this channel, been binge watching when I can. Love the in depth videos of the builds. The Alfa caught my attention, my uncle had one (a GT Junior that is) back in the 80s, they always had special place in my heart since then.
Patreon for the win … I’m just here to feed the algorithm. Harry checklist gets smaller, and the F600 list looms…
It certainly does. I am really looking forward to the new challenge :D
Right on
One of my favourite cars on KZhead. Not because it's the best but how much you and Mrs Jeff love Harry.
Recommend reinforcing the rear sway bar mounts. There are kits available for purchase or make your own. Seems to be a know weak spot.
Jeff. I made a doubler on the side facing inboard on both swaybar brackets. Much more reliable now.
It it probably worth me doing something like that.
tinting the rear window, do it in strips the same as the front window leading edge but all the way down to the bottom of the rear window, if you have gaps, they really cant be seen and even gaps make it more interesting
It's all the little details that make the difference.
Rear sway bar brackets snapping off are a super common problem on these cars. It's on my todo list to reinforce mine...
Good move with the tint. All the growths excised between my brow and my jawbone has been on the right hand (driver’s window) side. In South Australia we have up to 275 sunny days a year, so skin damage is almost a given… I always get UV tinting.
I love the fact you have a program of continual improvements and fine tuning
looks like another barn will have to be built 😁
That sway bar mount is a typical failure point, especially if stiffer than stock sways are mounted. On our track cars we cut the originals off and install the Wevo (IIRC) mounts, much stronger, but your reinforcement should be fine for stock.
In the time Jeff has built three full cars, I have made about 5% progress on my project car! It's impressive and depressing at the same time!!! Great work Jeff!
That is SUCH a Beautiful motor mate.. 👌🏴🇬🇧
The Alfa looks great, waiting to see if the engineer approves the changes.
Jeff those sway bar mounts Will tear out with any spirited driving. Ask me how I know! Anyone who tracks a 911 will at least weld a plate to box up the mounts on the backside of the mount. Better solution is the solid mounts from Elephant racing or other suppliers. The Tarret adjustable sway bars were my choice and I'm very happy with them. Good luck. Great 911. I have a '77 IROC clone. Cheers from Quebec Canada.
Some of the newer cars have this plastic grommet type thing that is stitched into the carpet and the mats have holes in them that clip into the grommets, if the velcro wears off then you could use that in harry
Glad I was right about it being the rear sway bar but disappointed that it was broken clean off. Great work.
Busy man Jeff,im still getting over the events in the Alf.and the Kenworth videos
Oh yeah, I noticed when I was in the tropics, that even a strong air-conditioning system can be overpowered by the beating sun, making an inside cabin a microwave. It can raise temperatures so fast it's unreal.
Failure of the rear swaybar mounts is common on these cars when running stiffer suspension then stock. You need reinforcements, or they will break again. There are plenty ideas and products available to solve this.
I always fit a tinted strip (banner) to the top of my windscreen..although fitted to the inside.....it makes a big difference to visibility in sunny conditions. I also have the other windows 80% tinted. Overseas viewers may not understand why it is such a big deal though....😁
Hi Jeff, small fact. Tinting is nice anyway but almost all glass including that in normal cars, does not transmit anymore than about 5% of the UV through it. You may feel hot but you can't really get sunburnt, its better than spf 50.
Mid-week content! Thanks.
Was visiting my family in oz maybe 10 years ago got lift back from south coast in a current statesman so aircond good ,but sun coming through closed window was painful
Jeff, that sway bar repair is likely to crack that weld in no time, personally I would have boxed the inboard side to the frame to crest support on both sides if the bracket.
Know what you mean re burnt arm. I got a pair of “sleeves” and use one on my right arm. Makes a big difference
Heel plates my dude!
70% tint is awesome, especially for windshields. You can hardly tell it's there but it preserves the dash and interior. I used it on a windshield in one car, with 35 or 45% on all the other windows. And on the 1969 GTV I recently bought, I'm going to go with 70% on *all* windows. Will keep the car cool and the interior protected, but still almost invisible to preserve that vintage look.
👍💪✌ Nice tint, no more break issues and sway bar is fixed, nicely done Jeff. It's such a nice 911.
I love that 911! I hope mine is as cool. -Spanky
Nice anti Sun work, but Sunbeams through glass are more dangerous than actually sitting in the Sun !
I did the same with the "banner area" to my NP300, it made the car so much more confortable... definately a good mod, old car or new
Woohoo, bonus Harry content! It's been a weird week for me, so when I saw the video pop up on my feed i had to double check that it was Wednesday, not Sunday, lol 🤣
Harry looks great. Lloyd's in California make some very nice formats. I just got a set for my 991.2 TS... Excellent quality and fit.
Good work again Jeff! On the sway bar front you could have reinforcement the left one too. This was not an accident, they tend to not hold a lifetime. It seems Porsche gradually beefed up the bars but kept the same mounts creating a weak spot.
Hey Jeff, glad your person from Alberta (CA) sent you all the rest of Canadian coinage. I thought I had two Toonies and a Loonie but was wrong also the plastic currency I had went with my children on their l
Oops...last trip to Canada. Of course I'm sure we're both spoofing you. I have watched episodes with Harry and some of 240 Z(Zee in my adopted parlance) but nothing has captivated me as much as your work on the Alfa. Have been watching every Sunday morning for a long, long time. I sweated buckets getting a Panhard rod and a rear tyranny mount centered on my old 124BC (Fiat Coupe)
Here in Taiwan all cars have tinting - great work!
Yeah we never have that problem in Scotland Jeff! 😂👌
I would suggest what a lot of cars do, have a grommet in the corners of the mat. You could do that with a hook on your bracket. I've had too many failures when Velcro is in a dirty location.....
Yeah, I don't think Jeff has a Telegram account. Not gonna take the bait.
love bonus vids :)
That is a gorgeous car 🤩🚗
nice
Look out, two videos a week! Maybe its time to start that second channel! Love your stuff jeff! Cough, cough, datsun 510/1600 cough, cough! 😂
The Windscreen tint looks a bit too low for the wiper sweep
Hello Jeff, I tried to spot the roof-dent in the Alfarrari and couldn’t see it. Either it’s been fixed or it’s so inconspicuous you don’t need to worry about it.
You should put HARRY in reverse lettering on the front banner so anyone who looks in their rear view mirror knows who’s behind them. Poor Harry, you need to give him a good clean or you’ll have to start calling him Dirt Harry!😂
shouldn't the window banner have gone on the inside surface? did you use some special film?
on the outside?
10K Km is excellent. I have to find a Canadian supplier of this tint film!
It is well worth while on these old cars, but keeping the classic look :D
Wait, did you put the tint on the outside? That will end up scratched in no time and look horrible/cant see anything through. I just googled it, so one can start on the outside for making a template with easier access, but you need to transfer it or add a new piece on the inside.
Nooooooo did you break Harry? 😥
Hey Jeff, A couple of videos ago, you mentioned that Mrs Jeff drives Harry to work. Maybe Mrs Jeff has had something to do with Harry's broken suspension. Just saying. ✌️ Peace.
Nice work. Can you post a link for the clear window tint please? Thanks.

@@HomeBuiltByJeff thanks 👍👍
Knowing myself as I do I would remove all the windows out to do that… I’m crazy, yes but hey.
Box the bracket. The original bracket failed. Just fixing it will fail again.
After a few thousand km's its the quality of life improvements that give it that extra few % to being the final goal.
With Velcro the rough part is called hook and the soft part is called loop. Just some useless information for you lol.
Wait, what? It’s Wednesday
Damn.. I can't afford to have lots of projects. I'm just sticking with my last build and just making it better.
