Alex mob has EVERYTHING, from ambient to functional mob, to real and fantasy, and they have MEME!!! This just hands down the BEST mob mod we've got in a looong time, mojang should just hire and pay modder to make a high quality content that doesn't fit in vanilla Minecraft like this,

I think the best part about Alex's Mobs isn't the amazing animations, but the references. Skelewag head is what Mr. Krabs used to defend himself from the skeleton army, the million and a half nametag Easter Eggs, Warped Mosco is literally a blue Buzzwole and Froststalkers are Monster Hunter Baggi's, the Blood Sprayer is a Splatoon Splattershot/Octoshot, it's just fantastic.

Alex mob's is definetely one of my favorite mods. When I first heard about it I always thought it was going to be another generic animal mod but it's so much more interesting than that. All of the animals have unique abilities, easter eggs, etc that actually makes it worthwhile to seek them out. I kind of wish some of the minecraft devs would take some notes from mods like this, instead of adding mobs that are just cute and funny but don't do anything that makes it worth seeking them.

Yeah I kept seeing stuff about "the new best mob mod" and I saw a video from the earliest days and I was underwhelmed, like ok it's a cool mod just stop spamming it everywhere. Then I saw a video about the updated version and was blown away. I normally don't like creature mods but I use it in every modded world now
I'm Brazilian and oh man, i loved the humming bird feeder, my grandma has some on her house and i loved seeing hummingbirds drinking water from it

There's an upcoming update for Alex's Mobs called The Wilder Update and in the discord they showed 2 of the mobs that will be in The Wilder Update being the Rain Frog (76th mob) and Potoo(77th mob). The Rain Frog are different from other frogs. They can't jump, they can't swim well and they can't make tadpoles. Rain Frogs can be found in the desert and will eat maggots if given any. If disturbed with a shovel while they're under the sand, they will squeak and make themselves bigger. In real life, the name 'Rain Frog' comes from the belief hat these small ,hydrophobic frogs can control the weather. So the Devs implemented it in a literal sense, so if you use a jukebox near a rain frog, it'll dance and the weather will change. It does have a long cooldown though. The Potoo can be found in Dark Oak Forests sleeping in the day and awake at night. The eyes of the Potoo are very large, and their pupils scale with the light level. If a potoo is in absolute darkness (where monsters can spawn), its pupils will fill up its eyes and it will continuously screech. Potoos can be picked up and carried with falconry gloves, and can be bred with maggots.
I'm very excited for this update, they said they will add 5 mobs, and 2 of them have been announced and they already look great. And after that will be the scary update, where people voted on what update was going to come next and that one was what won.

one of the reason i like this mod is because, it’s not afraid to do seemingly dangerous things to real life animal like jumping on a terrapin to launch a shell, or giving the capuchin monkeys a dart I know they are just References, but mojang has lost their fun and opted for better representation
I agree. The wild update might be underwhelming, but *on its own* it's one of the best updates Mojang/ Microsoft has released.
To be fair in my opinion this mod does a better job at teaching people about different animal species and introducing them in a educational way than mojang does. I find the idea that they won't add animals like sharks and other hostiles, because they don't want to encouraje people to kill them a bit stupid. But this mod does it perfectly, you don't have to kill them for them to be useful, and they can still be hostile. Also, I find the Devil's hole pupfish a very interesting mob to add, and their mechanic is an actual reference to the fact that they are almost extinct, with only 200 of them left I think.

Then again, they are a well-known company with a big game known by a lot of people in the media. They probably would be hit with large lawsuits by people stupid enough to think they're trying to "motivate and encourage" the killing or abuse of important or endangered animals when it's just a game and nobody is degenerative enough to actually go out of their way to do that in real life, and if somebody actually did that, they would be the biggest face to blame. They're just getting the animal rights activists off their backs.
I honestly think that Mojang is doing the right thing here. You know how shark species are going extinct becasue Jaws demonized them and people still think that they are monsters after 40 years? I know that Minecraft wouldn't be as effective as Jaws since it's just a block game but I'm still glad that they are being very careful not to misrepresent any creatures.

Fun Fact: The Tarantula Hawk is the official State Insect of the state of New Mexico. The special banner pattern you can make with it's wings is a nod to the zia sun on the New Mexico state flag.
It's also a nod to Fallout New Vegas (Big Iron achievement name for taming them) because giant tarantula hawks are one of the enemies in that game

The upcoming Alex's mobs update is the wilder update which will add wild update themed mobs, after that will be the very scary update which will add mobs based on folklore and cryptids. Pretty promising.

@@OlTimeyChara The very scary update will add two skulk mobs, so be ready for that. The wilder update has only revealed 2 mobs being the potoo (pretty much a portable version of the glare) and the rain frog (desert version of the normal frog that can change the weather)

This mod never fails to impress me, a lot of its mobs are better thought out and more interesting than a good few of the mobs in the vanilla game which is crazy to think about

The detail given to the mimic octopus and the blob fish mechanics are insane. Absolutely insane
Gosh I love realism these details like raccoons washing their food, alligators death roll, crows taming with seed from dropping food instead of hand feeding and that they can bring seeds to a specific place etc. That even brings an educational extra to Minecraft and makes the Animals feeling alive

The crow is just the allay but way better, it’s cuter, can be tamed, can put things in chests and can help you fight undead!

One of my favorite parts of this mod is how animals interact with one another, something that’s currently missing in a lot of Minecraft mobs
A good video like every time. Here's fun fact for the chestplate of the rocky roller. Equip an elytra in a curios slot and the chestplate in your normal armor slot you can roll in mid air and boost your flight. (requieres Curios API + Curios Elytra)

Love the Cave Centipede, it's animations are really good and they keep you on your toes when entering the deepest caves. They're rare but if you encounter one without good gear you'll need to think of a way to escape quickly. Plus scolopendra are just cool.
I can see why this mod is so popular, its clear the creator put a ton of effort and thought into it.

this is by far my favorite mod, it has fantasy or real mobs, friendly or hostile ones and each of them have a purpose! the best part is that this mod contains meme references like how the mungus is like the among us character.
In our SMP, we bred lots of kangaroos and made an army by equipping them with Prot4 netherite helmet and chestplate and OP Waraxe from Tinker's Construct. We also put stacks of golden apples in their inventories. Had to say even max level raids didn't last long.

Quick Question, Have You Ever Heard Of The Server Called "Origin Realms" It adds Tons Of New Blocks And Mobs Including The Rejected Mob Votes And I Personally Think They Did A Better Job Then "Freinds And Foes" (And All of The Other Mods That Try To Accomplish It). I Think It Would Be Cool If You Did A Review Including It. You know, Alex’s Mobs is similar to the Fiend Folio mod from the Binding of Isaac, they both add many creatures to flesh out the world better then vanilla.
