One night when she was eight years old, Roberta Grimes woke up and knew for certain that there is no God. And she was terrified! Then a bright light flashed, and a voice said, “You wouldn’t know what it is to have me unless you knew what it is to be without me. I will never leave you again.” She thought That’s nice. If you forget there is a God, they remind you. And she went back to sleep. She went on to graduate from Smith College and Boston University School of Law, but that experience of light remained with her.
She had to know where that light had come from! So even as she pursued a career as a small-business attorney, married, and reared a family, Roberta spent more than half a century researching what actually happens at and after death as a compulsive hobby. The result has been her highly enjoyable part-time career as a podcaster and afterlife and Gospels lecturer, as well as the author of seven nonfiction books, including The Fun of Dying and Liberating Jesus.
Please enjoy my conversation with Roberta Grimes.

  • Over 20 years ago I was working on a hematology/oncology hospital unit as an RN. There was a young woman (30s) who was on hospice (she had breast cancer.) Her body and face were contorted and lined with anguish and pain. I had never seen anyone who had that much pain ever in fact, so managing her pain had been extremely challenging for the physicians to manage. We had several nurses in the room right at the time she passed away along with her entire family. Her face shifted right as she passed from that of anguish to an angelic, peaceful, slight smile just filled with love. It’s very difficult to describe the level of intensity, emotion/love and beauty surrounding that moment. Everyone in the room was sobbing. It was so profound!

The amount of times I hear from these stories that people feel this power of love once their spirit leaves their flesh body. I'm sure they experienced this love more powerful due to being in death. I have personally experienced this indescribable love through a vision, as I've seen my own spirit walk out in front of me & walked towards Jesus with his arms opened wide. Just made me very emotional and I broke down a lot. It hit home with me even though I’ve heard of all this before but somehow struck a cord this time. I had a really good cry all day in my back yard. • When she questions how Jesus would know about the Internet, I had to laugh and that "he" wants a website. This interview did not give me goosebumps but each of us resonates with various information according to our own frequency. I respect her choice to create her own reality. And the topic she didn't want to talk about because it's "negative" seemed her own judgement when in fact the topic of avoiding dying in a hospital is in fact a very real positive subject that is important especially if you have influence over a family member's Healthcare. It can make the difference between a positive death experience or a negative one. There are also hospice alternatives with the right , "transition dulas" instead of an unenlightened end of life sitter. May all beings find connection with "Christ" Consciousness, Higher Self or whatever name you call it and know its easy to be deceived through the ego.

  • Thanks Alex. I listened, and once again Roberta brings a low vibrational feeling for me. I have experienced her, as a person who disregards anything she doesn’t know, or the info is different than her story and agenda. She seems closed off. Maybe it’s her lawyer edge. I’m sorry, but something’s not right. I’m glad I can communicate with Source, Jesus, etc…and it’s always a loving, gentle relationship. She gives the sense of ownership over Divine Communication. I got the impression she didn’t dig the Yogananda area you brought up. I thought it was a great topic. If it’s not in her agenda, she wriggles out. I’m going to talk to Jesus myself and chat about that website. If he wants it, I’m sure he’ll know why. 🥰 There are soooo many people who’ve had spiritual communications with divine beings, even with Jesus, why would Roberta only use the canonical gospels? Jesus can say whatever he wants to, to anyone, hopefully they can hear him. Gratitude, forgiveness and Love. Basics in a healing program I’m in. Service too! Often I’m led to writings from all kinds of resources to feed my soul in the moment. Just need to be open to the guidance and trust. She definitely doesn’t have ownership over the market on Divine Communication. I need to remember she is where she is, and I’m where I am. Her message may reach people on the same vibrational level as herself. All can be a voice for God, if they desire, listen and share. I wish her well.

  • Yeah the two versions of God was confusing. I did Bible studies for 5 years and became an atheist because I have a curious mind and asking questions seeking clarity became problematic for others to respond to that satisfied my curiosity. I was then to blame because the responders didn’t have the humility to admit they didn’t know either. Nowadays I acknowledge a divine intelligence Sorry struggled with this interview at times sifting through statements that were over simplistic, and to diminish the sciences tremendous contributions to our understanding of many things is not useful. I know of Roberta work she has an appeal no doubt. You handled the interview very graciously as always Alex - thank you for sharing all sorts of content.

  • I am Lutheran. One of the key distinctions with Catholicism is that one is saved by grace alone. You do not earn salvation. It is a gift from God. This is a key teaching that Jesus tried to convey but for which human beings twisted for their gain only. For instance, in the Catholic Church, it is taught that you must earn God’s salvation and at one point during the Middle Ages, you had to pay the church money to absolve your sins through the purchase of certificates of indulgences. Martin Luther struggled with this as a Catholic priest as he felt that there was nothing good enough he could do to earn salvation (no matter how much he paid the church it was never enough). It left him depressed until he stood up against the Catholic Church saying salvation is not earned and instead is given freely by the grace of God through faith. He ended up excommunicated. That speaks volumes to how Jesus’ messages were and still are being used to enrich others at his expense. Lutheran doctrine is not perfect either, but I find it’s much more true to what Jesus was trying to convey. That said, I struggle a bit with the notion that Jesus was nothing more than a teacher trying to get to the next spiritual “Level” by coming to Earth as the messiah. I find the whole concept of spiritual levels trivializing the relationship God wants to have with each of us; it feels like the “gamification” of the soul: I need to “level up” like a Scientologist because that’s what I want - Level 5!! Jesus came to Earth to absolve us of our own sins and to restore the connection God wants us to have. I don’t think he went through all of that to just get us into a spiritual game. While it is true, we grow into love but it is because God loves is first that we are even given that chance.

  • All of us need to learn how to speak with more humility. Roberta speaks as if everything she says is just the way it is. She might be convinced that people who die young frequently "choose" a car accident, but I hope she doesn't say this at funerals when asked to speak about the twenty-four year old who was hit and killed by a drunk driver or the nineteen year old who fell asleep at the wheel on his way home from a football game or....It is okay, even advisable, to become comfortable with, "I don't know, but here are a few possibilities..."

Finally here is the story - when I was in my late 20’s, divorced with no children, attending grad school and living in a house with my cat and dog, I saw a ghost. It was a Saturday morning, my dog woke me to let her out. My dog walked to the door of my bedroom and I was just about to get out of bed when I saw a woman standing in front of my granny dresser. She was in a lovely long white dress with a rose colored sash and she was fixing her hair. I would guess her clothing to be from the 1880’s-1890’s. I watched her in fascination for maybe a minute. I wanted to go touch her and as I had that thought she started spinning. Very slowly at first but by the time I put my foot on the floor she was spinning so fast she disappeared. I know I didn’t dream it because when she disappeared I could see my dog again in the doorway. The ghost had blocked my view of the dog. From that moment on I was pretty sure our energy continued and there was no actual death you just were moving at a faster rate. I figured we are all occupying the same space just moving faster or slower than others. So I find your podcasts fascinating. I now have 4 grown sons. I hope I taught them kindness. I hope I taught them to marvel at the beauty of nature and to protect the animals and even the slimy creatures on earth. I hope they still practice counting their blessings every day.

  • When my best friend passed suddenly at the age of 23, back in 1998, I was opened up to unexplained phenomenas and went searching for answers. Most of what I found was merely confirmation of what I already knew since childhood. on the subject of time: I used to joke with friends that “here we are crying and agonizing in grief and they are over there like.. “geez! I’ll see ya in 5 minutes! Relax!””. 😂Based on the “concept” that “time” moves much quicker after crossing over due to the higher, quicker speed of energy/vibration. So a common quote for me, when speaking to loved ones on the other side, or even with friends on this plane, was always “see ya in 5!” 🥰❤️ I resonate with everything in this video. From the subject of religion to the 7 levels of heaven etc. being someone who was raised as Roman Catholic, yet as a young child asked my Mom “when are they going to start teaching us about the 7 levels of heaven and when we come back in different bodies? I too, always knew there was more to it and also believed “God” to be a loving God, much different from what was being taught. I was lucky to have ended up with a CCD teacher who had us throw our CCD books in the trash on day 1 and taught us from the Bible and on the basic premise of “do unto others” and that we all have our own relationship and “confess with God, no priest needed”. I left the church as a young teen but always still felt a strong connection to Jesus. Oddly enough, I’ve had many experiences that mimic what NDE’s experience, including a visit to heaven and that powerful feeling of immense unconditional, insurmountable love. Except mine was in a dream, not NDE. I wonder if anyone else out there resonates so deeply with everything on this channel without it being quite as “cookie cutter” and left feeling… “where do I fit in to all of this?” What then is the purpose of my experience? There are just too many profound experiences from childhood and throughout my life, to deny or chalk up to “coincidence” which I don’t believe in anyway 🤷‍♀️ 🤔 I guess maybe I should write that book 😇 Thank you for creating this channel! 🙏🏻 I always have that feel of “home” when watching 🙏🏻❤️

This caused a big haboo with the publishers, but it was published anyway, and no, of course the unearned Nobel prize has not been revoked. My point is that for scientists it's all about the numbers. Of course, when I state that you have a gift for interviewing that does not imply in any way that you do not have many more wonderful gifts to share. It's just that your skills at interviewing are what I see and hear. Speaking of your interviewing skills Alex, it seems to me that when you are interviewing a guest that you are able to move the myself out of the way thus making space for SELF to come in and conduct the interview. How you allow your guest to talk freely without interruption, how you listen so attentively and carefully and how, when it comes to asking questions, your timing is impeccable. The appropriateness of your questions verify how closely you were listening to your guest and too, the questions you ask give your guest the opportunity to go much deeper into the subject matter they're presenting. I love it!

  • I have to comment: my feeling is this; at a point in time we will all discover that God is a part of ourselves, in fact, god is inside us. The scientific community will continue on but the reality is that we will KNOW certain things is Bc on the spiritual side, those that are guiding us will ALLOW the information that will dissolve OLD systems that have been in place. We have to start asking new questions about everything…break away from the linear thinking that we’ve been slaves to for ever. I truly believe that when we focus on what is being withheld, why science isn’t acknowledging what is different, etc. we will remain in the cycle of never resolving anything. We ALL chose to be here, especially in this moment, Bc of the major change in consciousness. We want to be a part of this Bc we are being challenged in extreme ways. Just remember to breath and know that we are all being divinely guided in every moment. Love is always the answer and nothing is greater. Love yourself first! Be in service to others. Trust that you are never alone and your guides are waiting for you to talk to them. Peace to all! Thank you all for BEING! 💜

  • I think it is very interesting what she, Roberta Grimes, says about Max Plank, and how most of them, who came after him, except for a few other geniuses, deny the truth, that materialism is emanating from consciousness, and not the opposite. Gary Zukav referred to them as technicians in the book "The dancing wu-li-masters". One other genius who also understood that the world is a reflection of God and not the opposite, was Einstein. At the moment I am reading "The second coming of Christ" by Paramahamsa Yogananda, in which he is referring, in a comment, to an article by a Ph.D. Keepin, who wrote a biography of David Bohm. What was the most fascinating thing about the comment was that it says that David Bohm suggest (shows; probably by complicated mathematics) that there is more energy in one cubic centimeter of vacuum than in the whole universe which we perceive via or sense organs (I mean the whole universe, not just the small fraction of it). To a normal mind this with all probability seems as a paradox and too unfathomable to even consider as "the truth". But to David Bohm it certainly was, and as he is considered to be one of the greatest within the area of physics during the 20th century, it might be wise to not negligee this statement. And especially his conclusion that this might prove that there is a God. It leads me to a funny memory when I saw a video where there was a discussion around a table with some of our times Nobel prize laureates and Rupert Sheldrake, which I consider to be a very fascinating scientist, also if he definitely is dividing from the conventional scientists in his unique way of confronting science, not just was seen as controversial by the other guys around the table, but also was ridiculed by them. I was glad, however, that he didn't accept to be penalized by those complacent fellows who got a prize for investigating a part of a fragment of a fragment of the creation. When they die they will be aware of that the dimension we live in (the 3rd) is not the final, but just is in the beginning of something immense that we just don't have the words or imagination to even start to conceive and thereby also lack the ability to describe. If somebody want to read what Keepin is saying, the comment is in the first of two books in "The second coming of Christ" on page 21 in the first book (its two books, each about 750 pages). I also have a personal reflection, namely that if the paradox is true, that 1 cubic centimeter contains more energy than our whole universe, then, to use a metaphor from the Hindu scriptures, the man is just a insignificant bubble, on a wave on a stormy see, at the same time as we, when we transcends the limits of our 'God-given' reality in this earthly realm, are not so insignificant. ❤🙏

Jesus knew that "The Rich Man" valued materialistic things, more than Godly things. Something Jesus brought to light quite a few times. Ask why going through "the narrow gate" is the way to enter into. The Kingdom. Or why it is easier for a camel to go through a needle. Both require removing baggage.

Paracelsus in his writings mentions how to do it if the body is well preserved or restored. (then again, Paracelsus was a little out there ; ) The sedation at the point of death is definitely an issue with our system..The hospital where I live sedates anyone that has issues they can't figure out any other treatment for. ..Like Dan Winter says, a hospital is the worst place to go to die since the electrosmog in them scrambles your electrical field like an omelet. . . . Song lines, Ley lines = paths to the points she refers to that we flow to at the point of death. Increasing vibration vs harmonizing your vibration is a fairly important realization to have.. Fear & excitement are both higher vibrations, fear is lacking harmonics in the heart spectrum.

This, too, is a good one - with an exception or two, like her reliance on the current Bible as the actual teachings of Jesus, rather than the altered versions of the original teachings. Our churches have also been infiltrated, their teachings altered. FWIW, overconfidence speaks from a lack of humility. Our mind is not the avenue of awakening; Heart is, but not the physical organ. It's our spiritual core, our Oneness with Source. Anyway, great interview, regardless. TH
