Im absolutely loving the evolution of folk music i guess is what you would call it bands like bloodywood, otyken, heilung, sklad, the hu, the sihd...taking more traditional and folk sounds adding some modern flair and running wild with it i know theres more bands but those are who came to mind off bat (if anyone knows any more though im happy to take recommendations!) Also apologizes if i spelled something wrong ill be happy to corret it in an edit if i did
Cemican - Aztec. Waggaki Band - Japanese. Tennger Cavalry - Mongol. Flogging Molly + Dropkick Murphy's - Irish. Prima Nocta - Scottish. Shepherds Reign + Alien Weaponry + Heroes Del Silencio (Samoan + Maori + Spanish. not much of the folk music part but lyrics are in their respective languages) and to add a few at a stretch would be Alestorm - Pirate themed and Nightwish (original singer) Opera/symphonic and Rotting Christ's - Devadevam (Hindi albeit the band is Greek)
@rockstribute I grew up with flogging Molly and drop kick Murphys! Found nightlight in my teen years absolutely geeked out but I took a screen shot to start working through the rest of them thank you so much!
Europeans have been making folk metal for a very long time. What's cool is other peoples have been adopting it and putting their native tunes and instruments through the same mold: to me metal is the most invigorating music can be and it's great that anyone can express that same passion and share it with the world. Btw for an extremely underrated arabic folk metal band I recommend copypasting "MELECHESH - Grand Gathas of Baal Sin (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)" onto youtube search.
Folk metal is quickly becoming one of my favourite genres. This artist is giving me the "ride into battle" energy I get from WagakiiBand and I love it💗
Not to mention Asian (esp. Indian) folk musical structures are simply made for metal. It's like a match made in heaven.
I'll never get tired of seeing unique impressions of Western "metal" with heavy influences of traditional culture and instrumentation. Also, Taiwan is beautiful.

Picturesque landscape but i believe nobody noticed the skin on the string box upto the stick of guitar ain't made of mythical ancient dragon of local folklore there rather it vividly seems to be of a python or larger snake like anaconda. Good tunes though. Nini is looking kool.

I originally got into international metal listening to System of a Downs song Nüguns. Ever since I've been hooked.
Right? it makes me want like an international metal concert festival with bands from all over preforming and bouncing off one another. It would be so cool.
iirc there's a whole research paper on how metal is the closest modern music to classical musicians, not surprising it's closer to all classic music, not only european

I do hope to hear you sing one day, from the few times you've let us heard your voice you do have a really nice one. Even in native taiwanese, as long as there's subtitles / translation somewhere to be found ! I say so as a European listening to the Hu, Otyken, Babymetal, Ningen Isu, Bloodywood, the Snake Charmer or Chthonic, who all sing in languages i do not understand, like at all. Also, love your scenic looks ! I get some Goddess like vibes !
