    • McConnell you mean, who refused to appoint Obama's choice because it was "so close" to the 2016 election (EIGHT MONTHS) and then pushed through Amy Coney Barrett with 8 DAYS to go to the 2020 election..... That disgusting little man is as responsible as any one for this removal of rights from half the population🤬

    • luckydude4506,FACT!! Even though Obama was in his lame-duck term, he was STILL the President of the United States and he was ENTITLED,by the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, to nominate a successor to the bench following the untimely death of Antonin Scalia in 2016. McConnell famously DEPRIVED him of the right to nominate a Supreme Court justice, even though he handed him a Conservative Republican ,Merrick B. Garland, who would be appointed by Joe Biden as Attorney General of the United States. In a backward way,McConnell did the former president a favor,by not ending up with an even bigger Conservative majority, after the 3 disastrous picks by Obama’s successor, the WORST President in American history.

    • @@neal5068 It is a difficult issue but I don't believe in lifetime appointments nor am I convinced that the long time presidential appointment system is the best idea. Biases in judges are regrettably common. The idea some people have put forth claiming that these biases diminish over time is ludicrous and serves no validity to the argument favouring lifetime terms. I'm not sure what the best answer is but I am confident it involves term limitations and re-qualifying of some nature. But as far as being smarter than the American founders, well they had a good idea on some things but the US and its constitution have been a work in progress since those founding days. To call for change to lifetime terms does not demonstrate lesser intelligence. What about all those acts of congress over the years that have produce constitutional amendments? Are they dumber than the founding fathers? IDK where many of us stand intellectually to the founding fathers of America but I do know your remark was not very bright.

Oddly enough, SCOTUS nominations have been a primary concern since I became old enough to vote, and I have never missed the opportunity. Which made it enraging when McConnell stole a nomination each from Presidents Obama and Biden and gave them to Trump, resulting in the rogue supermajority we have now. Overturning half a century worth of settled law after vowing under oath not to do so, deliberately breaking 14.3, and giving the election Gore won to Bushback in the day, are all betrayals of the American people. Media, not just the pundits and news "reporters" but also entertainment and comedy, recycle the same stuff over and over to inoculate their audience, be they any race or gender, against looking outside your bubble for any opinions on any matter. There are women who have no notion of ectopic pregnancy or fetal abnormalities which can necessitate abortion to save the mother and that those nearly always occur later in pregnancy. Aiding Ukraine's defense against a dictator planning to steal Europe did not raise grocery prices. It is proven that corporations are experiencing record profits while continuing to raise prices, knowing that Republicans will blame President Biden. Russia and OPEC cut oil production months ago to raise gas prices, and prices will continue to rise before the election. We could shut the border today if Republicans would pass the border bill THEY negotiated, meaning that Democrats are the only ones who want to do anything about the border. • The thing that angers me most is that it is mainly MEN ARGUING AGAINST ABORTION. However, it is mostly men that are more than eager to pay for an abortion when it suits them in skirting the responsibilities that come from fatherhood. It's simple: do you have a uterus?? No? Then you best keep your mouth shut. If you, the man, put a ring on it and you and the wife are set to become parents together, then you make the tough decisions together. And the many women that are facing child bearing and child rearing alone or risk losing their own life in the process, or for whatever reason, do not need mostly old men telling them what they should or should not do in that situation.

"Oh, that is established law. Its not a factor," she said more or less. I remember thinking at the time, how stupid can you be? Women got suckered into thinking that just because Roe was on the books that it coukd never change. How many times has the SCOTUS reversed a landmark ruling? Brown overturned Ferguson. It can go the other way too.
