Palm trees are commonly-seen plants on the sidewalks across Yunnan. In summer, they’re loaded with brown fruits, of which the crude-fibered flesh is rich in juice and oil. They can be pressed into oil. Palm oil is widely used in instant noodles. But it’s not simple to recreate a bowl of braised-beef flavored instant noodles.

  • For those wondering why she never says axia, as written in the subs- even though she’s clearly speaking a Chinese dialect - is because she calls her ‘sister’ or ‘Mei’ instead (so keep the ears peeled to hear her say it!) Axia would be her nickname, whereas her name-name would be like something something xia

  • In my country palm oil or 'red oil' as we call it here is our main cooking oil. Even the kennels produce oil which we use for health and skin care. It's so refreshing to see it been used also in China. Nature has amazing products!

    • Yes the big quantities is harmful, but it is medicinal this oil .It is sold for vitamin E PURE COMPLETE E a tbp a day can help tremendously. BUT THE HEAVY FRYING KILLS THE NUTRIENTS .PUTTING SOME IN A SOUP IN WINTER MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.THat types of soup is mostly used for recovering patients or postpartum phase for better healing .we Crack the nuts shell very arduous but great snack .I'm west african.

  • 盆姊也太有毅力了！ 不斷嘗試只為了成功做出不會斷的麵條。第一次的手作麵條就很厲害了！雖然壓麵機的確做出來很專業，但照顧家人的心意不變。😊 第一次看棕櫚油原來是這麼濾出來的，繁瑣程序最後提煉出清澈的油令人讚嘆，而且光是煉油就要一整天了，真的很佩服！ 盆姊真的很勤奮，妹妹也很貼心，看妳們的影片都能很放鬆，也驚嘆原來一天之內可以做這麼多事！希望盆姊可以早日痊癒。😊

  • Your brother has grown so much since I first discovered your channel years ago. He looks like a handsome man now. And the food looks delicious. Especially those handmade noodles which is something I miss getting from my Great Grandmother and Grandmother. My Great Grandmother would make them every time I visited for dinner or lunch. Being Italian on my mom's side we love handmade noodles though hardly make them. I started to recently alongside tortillas which I learned from my Hispanic friends at work. Handmade things taste so much better. 😋 Watching you make them brought back those memories. 😊

  • Love the Behind the scenes, the Food you cooked this time really reminded me of the food I eat almost every day like you straight up made Gula Melaka, when you were making Braised Beef Soup it reminded me of Beef Rendang for a moment and that Coconut with Gula Melaka dessert you made reminded me of 嘟嘟糕 and Putu Piring. This episode really hits home for me, especially the Cup of Coconut Water, considering Yunnan is relatively close to Southeast Asia, I shouldn’t be surprised by the Similarities of our Cultures but this video is now my Favourite video on your Channel, also take care of that finger of yours, best to use the machine until your Finger is healed for Making Noodles.   • I do not feel bad now. I had a very hard time the first couple of times I tried to handpull noodles! Some were fat-some were skinny and most broke! They tasted good any ways but I too wanted them to be pretty 😍 I have 3 pasta roller machines. 2 are hand cranking ones that I learned on and my family bought me the set that goes on my big kitchenaid mixer. That helped so much more. I use that to make my noodles now. I havent tried to fry them yet but I might. You made it look easy. Steam first then fry. Thank you for all the hard work you show. ❤
