The voice of the Cabbage Man discusses how the voice was created in kzhead.info/sun/hdSsd7F9qIWCfpE/bejne.html
The fact that Zuko was a late addition and it turned out to be one of the most memorable character in... well... animation history is just crazy.
In the writing process or the show.
@@ncard00 yes
@@ncard00 I guess in terms of writing.
That happens quite a bit. Fonzie (Henry Winkler) in Happy Days was supposed to be a side character and took over the show. Erkle (Jamaal White) in Family Matters was supposed to be a one day walk-on.
And Cabbage Man and Suki were supposed to be one time characters
The way I IMMEDIATELY started crying at Greg's "I was never angry with you. I was sad because I thought you had lost your way." I'm BAWLING
I'm glad I wasn't the only one!!
Same!!!😭😭
i love how they still remember their lines after all this time😆
I mean, so do us
Bro, i can only imagine they have watched it a handful of times. It's a masterpiece.
They’ve probably rewatched it about as many times as we have 😄
Don't you?
I'm pretty sure they remember because that fans won't let them forget it lol
Zuko: reclaim my honor Dante Basco: Bring a net
Everyone has a crush on Dante. Even Toph in real life had one.
It's only as an adult that you realize how dark the "kid's" film Hook is, for Dante being a 10 yr old and being murdered on screen by an adult.
Dante is just cool, in a bad boy way. How can you not want a bad boy?
Just realized Zuko is Ruffio lol
Omg yes I really loved him in take the lead and the voice of jake the dragon and the fire prince
Wow just like Gerald & Phoebe in Hey Arnold ?
The fact they brought the legendary cabbage guy, made this so memorable.
RIP Mako-san. The very best Uncle Iroh. "This tastes like hot leaf juice!" "That's what tea is!" "I can't believe my own nephew!"
"no, she's crazy and she needs to go down"
“It is usually best to admit mistakes when they occur, and to seek to restore honour!”
i teared up when greg baldwin said iroh"s line
I loved it too 😍
Tears from our eyes, Come rolling down, Like little drops of rain, When we hear the sound, Avatar fans, have nothing to defend Against Uncle Iroh's, ability to tearbend.
I have an unhealthy obsession with Grey 🤣🤣🤣 no one could ever replace her voice for that character. She like the Mark Hamill of Azula. & also, Iroh 2's humble nature on the subject strikes me on many levels. This show has such a wholesome cast.
Was that Ozai/Mark Hamill reference intentional lol
@rhettmitchell I mean he did do that voice too, but I was more referencing how irreplaceable he was as the joker
She's also awesome as Asajj Ventress.
@keithtorgersen9664 Shit, man, her list of roles is MASSIVE, she popped up everywhere. Though there is just certain characters that couldn't have been done by anyone else I don't think.
The respect for Mako runs sooOOOO much deeper than just Iroh in AtLA. The man will quite literally never be forgotten.
Season 1, Ep. 19 response for 5:10 Uncle Iroh: If you're fishing for an octopus, my nephew, you need a tightly woven net, or he would squeeze through the tiniest hole and escape: Zuko: I dont need your wisdom right now, Uncle
😂😂😂
Wow, Dante, even aged, still has that teenage raspy voice of Zuko. If I don't look at the video, I would imagine Zuko still.
10:09 we don’t blame you sis. Some of us had a crush on Zuko AND Dante 😂😭.
RUFIO! RUFIO! RUFIO! RUFIO! RUFIO!
I wish Jessie’s favourite line at the end there would’ve been “I’m not toph, I’m melon lord! Muahahahaha”
She literally sounds nothing like toph anymore, yet azulas voice actor still sounds like azula
I wish Dante's had been "That's rough, buddy."
@@MrAppbee that's cause she recorded during the show as a literal child lol
@@MrAppbee she doesn't sound too awfully different.
@@OpposingPony or, "THE SCAR'S NOT ON THE WRONG SIDE!"
Wow, I did not realize he sounded exactly like Zuko and didn't change his voice, like... At all 😂
Absolutely Agree🥰Dante Basco's voice is unique☺️😊❤️Didn't change at all and he's already nearly 50.
I first saw him in Hook way before Avatar aired, but as soon as I heard Zuko, I knew it was him. His voice is very distinctive.
"That's rough, buddy" should be the one.
While I LOVE Zuko as much as everyone else does, Aang was a fantastic character too, and it makes me sad when people don't acknowledge that
Seem's to me like they forget.. the shows name is Avatar the Last Air Bender NOT zukos redemption arc.
They were just saying that it wouldn't be the same show without Zuko as a character and his arc it wouldn't have been the same. Aang was the pivotal, touchstone character and watching his growth and triumph was fantastic. But unlike most other shows, the secondary characters play just as important of a role in the story and that's what made AtLA so special.
I want the original voice actors still voice the upcoming sequel of the GAANG animated movie when they're all grown up... It will be perfect
Yes !!!!
They're not, zuko is coming back tho
"they all had a net" killed me 😭
Why did I never fucking know that Mae Whitman voiced katara?! That’s wild
17:05 Iroh was the best teacher 🫶🏻 wonderful life lessons!
Someone forgot to get Jesse out of the iceberg for the convention
Dante Basco's voice still hasn't changed, his voice is really amazing and super unique..I miss it so much😌🥰❤
Wait, is Mako in Legend of Korra is a tribute character for Makoto Iwamatsu?
Yeah
20:20 i can relate. i was a freshman in high school and my brother was 20 or 21 but id get home from school and he'd get home from work and i remember getting together and being so excited to watch Avatar together. something i know i will always remember and cherish
Wow, this was almost a year ago! I loved the energy Mae brought! I didn’t expect her to be so talkative. I got to meet Aang, Zach Tyler Eisen, at another Con last May. Hopefully he can swing by Sac, soon! Really great guy
I know I'm late to this party but in one of the earlier seasons...I think... or Dragon Prince - there's an episode that you can literally see Aang's staff in the pile of "trinkets" this dragon obtained. hahaha. I just about died. I'm LOVING finding Avatar: TLA references in it, and I hope they keep doing it!
You love AtLA references…have you played act 3 of Bauldur’s Gate 3?
5:31😂😂😂😂😂😂 Imagine he get a net and capture him at the second Episode 😂
Aren't we all so blessed to have this, so many years later ? I love that show so much ♥
The whole cast is so funny esp Dante 😂
I was loving the whole thing and then RIGHT AT THE END with the tearbending! Dammit, Greg. Iroh never fails to bring out the feels
the legend of Korra and the live action can never be close to how much the original animated series impacted our lives.
Facts
Love Dante's new hair
He was shooting project hence why his hair was like that
@@DOTHShorts he was shooting almost paradise with Christian Kane playing a criminal.
THANK YOU!!!! as a adult fan now, I was 14 when this aired, This was a treat to go with my morning coffee!!! Had me smiling the whole way through!!!! I may just replay it to another cup in memory of Mako. He was universally EVERYONE'S UNCLE!!
Kataras Laugh is so funny
I wish they would bring them all back as the voices for the movie
Is there a source saying that some or all of them won't return?
their characters appeared as adults in TLoK, with different voice actors, although Michaela (Toph) played a young Su Yin and Dante played Zuko's grandson, General Iroh@@nyssiii
@@alastorcorvus and Iroh is a recurring character, still voiced by Greg
@nyssiii I recently heard they want to use ethnically accurate voice actors, so Dante is the only one returning since everyone else is white.
@@alyssam8550 the voice actor for suki is also Asian but they’re not bringing her back
It’s absolutely Amazing how we’ve all grown up in 20 years!😄 I’ll never forget when the first episode aired, where I was, and how fast I fell in love with it!😌 Iroh and Toph will always be my favorite characters!💪🏼
Dante is almost 50 but still sounds like in his 20s
Oh no how could they say it's Zuko's and not Aang's show 😱 Aang has a beautiful arch through the show! True, i could relate to it more when having grown up. As a kid you don't appreciate the complexity of his situation and what he had to go through
10:18 Jessie Flower (Toph) and rest of cast acknowledge Dante Basco (Zuko) is a smoke show 😮
Zuko never grows old.
This interview was the best dose of dopamine I've had in a WHILE ugh nothing beats atla and its cast
OG Johnny Bravo was fantastic.. both shows, timeless and so much fun to watch.
"What style of bending would you create?" Jack: "Backbending"
this made me tear up so much. those one liners at the end were so nostalgic
This the best! Really loved getting to see them talk about their time on the show!
This was sooooo good ❤
Great channel. I think I'll go on a binge of panels I care about. Awesome production.
I like how they talked about the show without Zuko, and it made me realize. If he weren’t there the show would’ve ended with Zhao delivering Aang to Ozai
Sokka: Drink Cactus juice, it'll quinch ya. *Starts wiggling like a worm but wave at the same time* It's the quinichest!!!!! Its a giant mushroom, maybe it friendly!!!!!! 🥴🥴🥴🥴
the atlab cast are all so awesome and super talented ❤
I always love uncle Iroh's lines,he's sooo charming🥰❤
Chills so heartwarming
20:13 My mom and family wouldn't exactly stay to watch "anime" let alone cartoons, however I would see my mom hover for the rest to eventually binging avatar with me.❤😮
25:56 THE DUDE IS WEARING TECHNO MERCH‼️‼️
I was just smiling ear to ear the whole 36 minutes and 40 seconds of it 😄
Azula once banished me from the fire nation for my birthday. She is the only true fire lord
What is the story of Zuko being written last minute for the show? If someone has the info
Originally they wanted Ozai was the show's main antagonist, but the writers realized he would not be able to cause Aang and his friends trouble sitting from his throne. Zuko was then written into the show but became a major character arc.
Awww I love Dante basco he’s such a sweetheart that just makes me love my boy Zuko even more I have a crush on Zuko I would literally cry if I ever meet Dante in person 😊🥰❤️ the guy who played iroh is so sweet and respectful to mako
This is so wholesome. Had a grin on my face the entire time😊
now I need a crossover between this cast, LoK cast and the Netflix series cast
I’ve never seen Greg Baldwin in person, so I was like “who did Patton Oswalt voice in the show?” 😂
This panel was great!
I wish katara had done the intro.
I want to go there one day and see the cast 😭
Is anybody else in tears at the end of this? So good 😭
God, I love these guys so damn much.
I love them! I could watch them all day talking about their ATLA characters
Thanks to my daughter for introducing me to Avatar ❤
I kinda love the guy who played the cabbage man is there but the Avatar himself isnt 😂
Uncle iroh never wanted zuko to catch the avatar..xd.. thats a given. He new everything had a purpose and catching the avatar was not zuko's purpose 😂😂 I love uncle iroh ❤❤
I'd love to hear " Hello, Zuko here.."
When Iroh's voice actor talked about finding the light out of the darkness, (or something like that), was he making a salvation testimony, or talking about coming out of depression. Did he have deep depression?
he was saying to be positive because nothing good comes from focusing only on the bad side. That's why it helped him out during COVID because we never knew what would happen to us and how long we would stay in the "new normal"
I loved every moment of this
This is incredible
I would love to see Gordon try his Aang voice sometime. Even if it’s just grown up version
If I was there I would ask the cast if you could wear any of the 4 nations clothing what you wear???
wait Andrea Romano did the casting? wow
Her name is attached to so many amazing animated series
Oh gosh! I love them so much!
If my grandmother had wheels she'd be a bike. That's what avatar is without zuko, what kinda question is that
14:26 the tea with strangers can be a momentous occurrence meant to be, and not just a 24/7 thriller. The lesson I took from that.
Times have changed when a cast this talented won't be back to voice these characters in animated form except for one, What a shame.
Whose coming back
No. Not a shame. It was and still is an incredible show brought to life by very special people.
@@mosesifyoullpardonthepun2846Well the only character who reappeared in later series with the same voice actor is Iroh with Greg Baldwin.
Great......how many times did we tearbend through this?
This is the first time I've seen a lot of the voice actors' faces and Katara's VA looked so familiar. Omg, I had no idea that she was also one of the evil exes in the Scott Pilgrim movie!!
This was so fun to watch. 😄👍
Bring Anette 🤣🤣🤣
Mae was on a show call The Good Girls wow
This is all wholesome
Man Dante Brasco is a full grown man and still sounds exactly like our favourite fire nation prince.
Who else here closing their eyes while the voice actors are talking to each character 😂
Mai's voice actress is literally mai and so is uncle iroh
0:11 definitely sounds like Amity going of on a tangent after Luz showed her Avatar and she has questions 😂😂
2024 who's still here? I just finished watching it, but seems like I'll be watching it again ❤️🤗
the cabbagges man is so funny 😂
I really, with they, would have made a 4th season of The Last Airbender to show them leading up to the legend of Kora more!
Irohs voice actor has a white lotus tattoo on his arm
Where’s ONG
My Cabbages!!!
Love the castt
