Been listening to Gary for about a year. 71 year Irish woman living in Scotland. I so get the message. Proselytising in fact, have recommend everyone to buy it and listen to the central message. Mate, if it helps sales, do as many "buy my book" posts as you can 🙂 You've had the experience, you've done the work, and the all important things is now to get the word out there. I genuinely believe, your message has the possibility to change so much that's wrong with society. We can't blame traders for playing the game, but we can demand that the rules of the game are changed, for the benefit of the majority of the population. I've been waiting for the best part of 35 years for someone to talk sense, when it comes to economics and policy. And now, you're the man! I've so much time and respect for you, and I'm sure that's echoed all over the country.

My local Waterstones had them in yesterday, went out and got its immediately after watching your interview on Novara. I'm not a very quick reader but seemed to breeze through the first chapter last night. Extremely well written and very accessible for people like myself who aren't the strongest readers. Thank you for the work you do, Gary!

It's better than really good- it's excellent, and it's the book that people need right now. People are fed up and they're ready to hear your message. Just finished Audiobook; brilliantly narrated Gary. Japanese, Scouse and US accents are spot on! It’s gripping and really well written. The piece that is missing for me is I kept waiting for some kind of understanding behind hoarding all the money that you’d earned- to the point of in the early days being reluctant to chip in rent towards your keep at your parents, not wanting to furnish your own flat, buy yourself some well deserved new trainers etc. There didn’t seem to be any resolve around this even at the end, which for such a personal memoir ( and confession even!) left the reader hanging. All in all though, fantastic memoir and really well written. 🙏

Gary just finished reading the book, good for you, you got out, before they devoured you, took your soul, sucked out your bone marrow, those bastards know what they are doing with you, they trawl the world, looking for rare people like you, knowing full well you're going to be creative and make more money for the bank, they can't do that you see! ....you made them a lot of money, you deserved every penny. And most importantly you got out at the top, and kept you're sanity, well done I salute you mate!

Hi Garry, I just finished your book. Received it yesterday by mail and loved it. 6h of sleep and I kept going in the morning. My background similar to you, worked in Investment banking for the last 25 years, in Product Control (Accountant), it all your Traders PnL REPORTS daily and looked at the balance sheet and did all your IPV for open positions. Will be buying the book, listened to your interview with James O’Brien really good and brilliant look into the world of trading etc for some one who is not from that world. I remember many years ago ie 2001 I went to the university of East London and at the freshers fair met a fella who was doing the same course as me. He had a mate who he called up, when his mate arrived she was driving a small white brand new plate VW golf, already the insurance on that would have been insane for a young person to be driving, as we drove round to the other campus over by London City Airport I found out she was a trader and worked in city Bank, already had a two floor pent house on the wharf key and was financially self sufficient…from your own story I can now see she must have got in at a good grammar school and progressed into the LSE to find her self as a trader at such a young age which then gave her financial freedom, like your self she was also from a working class back ground. Where she is now I have no idea as I lost touch with the fella I met at that freshers fair so don’t even know where he is now.

Started the audiobooks last night, and I’m done now. Brilliant and insightful, I’m still low key impressed shock about many things shared in there
What a read. Recieved the book last week and it instantly captivated me, fascinated me and appauled me. I finished the book at the weekend with a genuine feeling of respect, and love for the mind of the man that wrote it. What a fantastic piece of work it is, and a catharsis it must have been to tell the story. I cannot recommend it enough. Well done Gary.

Just finished reading chapters 9 through 20, that's a first for me! Starting at the very beginning is my usual method but, having listened to a number of Gary's interviews I couldn't wait to discover the how, where and when that led to 'Gary's Economics'.
Got my signed copy (and with a small coffee stain) this weekend. Just finished it - incredibly gripping, educational and a little heartbreaking too (Wizard). Passing it on to my sons now. Thank you Gary, for sharing your story and for building this movement.

Nearly finished the audible version of the book Gary. Was gutted when you mentioned it doesn't count towards the charts 😂cos I'd love to support it any way possible. You're a great narrator - this added another dimension to it. I'm in my mid 30s and very disheartened with the economic situation in the UK. I feel this book is extremely important for people my age. Your brutal honesty is much appreciated as a reader/listener.

My copy arrived on Wednesday (March 6) and by Thursday I'd finished it. I couldn't put it down. It's not just a fascinating story, it's also very well written. Always rivetting, sometimes funny, and (especially towards the end) sometimes very sad. It certainly deserves to reach no. 1 in the charts. I really hope you'll go on to write a sequel about your time at Oxford University! Very best wishes.
I loved the book, I bought the hard copy for myself and another as a gift for a friend am really looking forward to savouring and reading. I also purchased this on audible, your narration really brought it to life for me. It was relatable, poignant in so many of your descriptions. I cried, I laughed and I learnt. Just finished reading it. Very good read. Reminds me in a way of my first big job in London.. 1961 after arriving from Belfast. Working for the biggest bookie in London. First assignment was Bethnal Green and the Mile End Road. Different planet then of course. Live in California today. Only one person could play Gary in the movie. Louis McCartney.. Currently playing the lead in "Stranger Things.. The First Shadow" at the Phoenix théâtre. Keep up the good work Gary.. You have a good heart.

Just finished reading your book - literally. It is a very powerful and compelling personal story. Your passion for fighting against inequality in society is something that shines through the whole thing. I was genuinely quite shocked to read how badly the relations with your old employer went bad at the end. I suppose, if I'm going to be 100% honest, I did feel some little degree of sympathy with your boss, this Caleb dude. After all, he did give you a 1-in-a-million chance to get very rich very quickly... I dunno...I guess there were other issues...like mental health and what not. I hope you are in a better place now.
I'm glad you feel some sympathy for Caleb. I really wanted to make a morally nuanced cast of characters without anyone being 100% good or 100% bad
