Beefmaster bulls are valued for the maternal attributes of their female offspring that include early breed up, high calf survivability and overall longevity in the cowherd. Beefmaster influenced feeder calves are appreciated for efficiency of gain, fewer days on feed and industry acceptable quality and cutability with high dressing percentages.
Beefmaster breeders understand the importance of using modern advancements in technology to provide their customers with the most current selection tools. DNA testing, feed efficiency and carcass ultrasound are mainstream practices that are used today to enrich the cattle that have been built on a generations long foundation of selection based on economic efficiencies of the six essentials.

My dad has 50 herd of beefmaster, 100 head of Hereford. Also 5 simmental bulls. 22 dairy cows.

Not rancher, but interested in investing within cattle business. And other commodities. Yes I live in the city of Fort Worth TX. But my heart is to build a hand made timber style hand log cabin home. In the woods.
They’re some huge bulls for sure. Only wish they were 100% grass fed with no feed Input. Wondering about the percentage of calves that must be pulled out. With such large bulls do you find that to be a problem?

There is no doubt that Beefmaster is one of the best hybrids in the world. When it comes to the PURE breed the Charolais breed is one of a kind in the world. They are growing very fast and are excellent at fast weight gain. How are these cattle on grass though? I run a grass-fed and grass finished operation i need a breed that throw weight on with grass only.
Most Beefmasters spend their lives on grass-based or forage-based diet.
Does that include grass finishing no grain finishing?

Is this a bull beef system? Are they available in Europe?
+Tom Greene I think they are primarily a breeding bull set up for multiplication herds in the Americas. I don't think they are available in Europe, although it may be worthwhile contacting the semen suppliers just in case.
They are marketed all over the world. Semen can be purchased and shipped to all places. They now have the first Beefmaster calves hitting the ground from native cows in Italy. If you are really interested look into the breed registry at beefmasters.org.
How many different breeds they use to create the Beefmaster. They look very familiar to a breed that I saw when i was a boy, back in Cuba. It just to be called " Saint Gertrude "and raised in Turiguano Island.
VJ Blues ...Santa Gertrudis maybe? That breed started in the US on the King Ranch in South Texas. There would be a lot of similarities between Santa Gertrudis and Beefmaster...both are a cross of Brahman and Shorthorn cattle, but I believe the Beefmaster also has some Hereford in the mix.
Correct ... !!! Santa Gertrudis, an excellent breed. Ah .., The King Ranch, birth place of the Brahaman and America's pride and joy. There was another double purpose breed full developed but the 1959 revolution put stop on everything.

@@richixkiklinski1082...are you saying "Saint Gertrude" from Turiguano Island are the same as Santa Gertrudis? That's what I was asking the OP. If you are saying Beefmaster and Santa Gertrudis are the same that's not correct. Very similar breeds, but not exactly the same and each has their own registry I believe.

Yeah, right.
But will this breed be as hardy in Northern climates like Minnesota? Will they still have the atypical gains on pasture? I've never heard of any farmer or rancher that has Beefmaster cattle in this state. Personally, I don't think they'd make it.

Purina was originally a livestock-only feed company and still produces mostly livestock feeds and supplements...
