  • Blink is one of the best bands of my generation (02 HS grad) saw them twice. First time was June after graduation then again my freshman year of college So much fun. These guys captured the essence of those years so well that these songs will never go out of style (I hope lol) Their music videos were so random (most of them not all) that it’s clear that they didn’t take themselves too seriously. I love it when big time bands/artists are like that

Being the last generation who knows what life was like pre internet, cell phones, computers etc is another element to this whole thing Life was just “simpler” lol I mean for kids who turned 14 in 98 like me. We actually rode bikes, played pick up games at the park & our lives weren’t ruled by organized sports (we were all jocks, and I ended up played D1 college baseball) We played travel sports but we still played street hockey, basketball, football, whenever we could. Our only rules were be home at 1230/1p for lunch & 530/6p for dinner, then when the street lights came on, we went home If we left a friends house we had to call to tell our parents where we’d be next & that was about it. We were the last generation who had the “freedom” to do what we wanted, within reason, and of course there was the music It’s why I love Blink so much and always have (plus girls loved them lol so that was a plus) bc they were “us”, they wrote songs about “our” experiences, and they were just fun. The music back then was so much better & the variety of great songs across all genres was just amazing. The hip hop & rap. Alternative rock. Pop rock. Pop. Literally 100s of great bands & acts

  • my dad is 44 years old he grew up listening to black Sabbath, iron mainden , twisted sister, ac/dc etc... Im 23 and I grew up listening to green day, foo fighters, linkin park, blink 182 , my chemical romance, Eminem etc... And kids these days grow up listening to lil wayne, Justin Bieber etc..(I honestly cant name many "new" bands) But my point is that every generation has its music. My grandparents thought the music my dad liked was garbage. My dad thinks the music I listen to isn't all that good. And I don't really care for new music coming out these days. We are all getting old and so is the music we enjoy, so get over it and just enjoy the classics !
