Honestly. I can't build for crap and I would absolutely consider builders to be an artist of sorts. It takes a lot of skill to do interesting builds!
@@benamisai-kham5892 same here! I play animal crossing and I see so many talented artists on there, I’ve had a good few tries at doing an artistic island and it’s SO HARD. Like unbelievably so 😭 definitely is an art form and I think it should be recognised more widely as one hehe

Agreed Kayla has taught me so much about building with all her little tricks that's actually how I discovered her channel I am still bad at building but at least they are a little better thanks to Kayla building has never been my thing.
I was so happy to hear they pay the simmers tbh. I was kind of worried that EA would be like "well you're in our partnership program! you get to build for us! :D", so it was a relief to hear they do, in fact, get paid.

The Rec center totally reminds me of a YMCA. They’re gyms usually with available childcare and summer camps. They have classes and programs for all ages
I was thinking the same thing. I'm just gonna add a pool and it's like the YMCA is in my game.

You're officially a video game environment artist! The process you went through with feedback and iteration (and working in areas that don't have finished ground, textures, etc 😩) is exactly what environment artists do daily! We work with the prop modelers and designers and art directors to give and get feedback and I'm positive your comments on prices and other stuff were very appreciated.

They only invite those who are very popular, they don’t invite smaller creators, who ACTUALLY know how to build, and it’s not fair for them when they put in more time and effort into building than lilsimsie… 🙄 they just care about money and attention rather than helping small creators a bir

@@Uchiha.Itachii Of course they're gonna ask the big creators, it's all about marketing and numbers, why would they hire someone unknown? The point is to collab with the community so they need to choose people very well known in it. Imagine if Nike didn't sponsor Messi but some other random player, that wouldn't make sense at all. It's all about the reach, the marketing and the impact, someone as big as Kayla brings that to EA than some small youtuber.

This really captures how starter homes SHOULD be. Simple, but with good bones. It's a lot easier for players to add or replace furniture or add a yard as a family grows than have to suddenly add a whole new bedroom. I love to build from scratch personally, but a lot of people don't and this is great for those players - or just for those of us that want to yeet out some "extra" family members :,D
Its so hype that you actually were able to kinda "immortalize" yourself in the game and then in the expansion pack youve always wanted. Amazing stuff and really happy for you! :D

Its so lovely to see the huge Filipino inspirations in this new world. Robles , Ruano, Bayani ,Aurelio and Ignacio are common Filipino names. Plus Tala means "star" in our language. Its so cool they are using Filipino culture everywhere in this world.
I thought it was an attempt at latin american inclusion, but being Filipino things makes more sense :)

@@shylemon406 as far as i know - still no toilet 😂 LOTS of houses in del sol valley are missing toilets. one of the houses in strangerville has a kitchen that's not functional, as well as another house that has a staircase to *nowhere.* one of the houses in glimmerbrook has one section of roof that has default tile, whereas the other sections have been changed. a house in windenburg is missing a kitchen sink.......i could list more honestly. the default houses before simmers were building them are a whole MESS.
@@shylemon406 still there. get famous has absolutely awful default builds, so many strange random inconsistencies and mistakes, and the museum. god, the museum. worst default build in the game imo. I wish they would go back and update every world, but my standards are so low at this point - I cannot wait for paralives early access
I cant believe we only have 3 days until the pack releases! And the infant update is TOMORROW?! We've been waiting so long that it doesn't seem real. I'm so excited!!

I’ve signed an NDA for a restaurant chain I did commercial cleaning for and I wasn’t supposed to drive away business or talk about specific locations, but I did mention to a couple family members how the cleanings went vaguely. Anyway, I’m guessing Kayla briefly mentioned to family members that she was working with the Sims team for their new pack and got to add her signature touch to it! :)
@@averiv I hope you are right. It is unhealthy to be over the moon thrilled, yet unable to share with your spouse or closest friend/family. This reminds me of a US veteran's story. He said that not being able to tell his wife about his dayjob was the hardest part of his job; which was long distance bombing the Middle East: Which in itself was enough food for ptsd, he said. I'm assuming this duty of confidentiality doesn't fall in the same category.
All those years of blue suburbans was actually Simsie training for this day.

Thank you SO MUCH for 4 Bedrooms in a family pack. One of my main complaints in HSY was that it was hard to move in family without cheats. I played your build in Snowy Escape quite a bit and I'm sure I will get a ton of use of this one too!
My attention span is practically non-existent so I didn't think I'd be able to watch this whole video, but Kayla is obviously so excited about this that it made it worth the watch for sure ♥
I put things like this on in the background and just check in when I hear comments about interesting things.

I always loved how Lilsimsie buildings are "Performant Friendly" while still being very furnished. And having this in the actual game is SO NICE! She could build for every pack and I would be very happy for it.

that rec center is PHENOMENAL! It looked like a workout to build. The flow of the rooms made me think of my childhood rec center when they did family days, where the entire building was open and families were going from room to room. Amazing!
I am honestly so excited for the rec center lot type. I've kind of been using libraries as that for a long time, so it's nice to finally have a dedicated space to put all the skill objects and things that don't always fit into a home lot.

I'm surprised EA didn't make you downsize the blue suburban. You could have easily combined rooms and made other living spaces smaller to afford more actual pack items. It's a good build, just kind of has a weird vibe because the base game furniture is so clunky and dated, but then there's random pops of the new pack items, but not enough to where you feel like you're living in the new world they've made.
maybe do a renovation of this building once it comes out using the limitations of not using cheats and keeping roughly the same number of objects and other limitations (like the number of wallpaper and flooring swatches)? i am genuinely interested in your take of it, it's always interesting to see a spin on the official builds, especially when it's made by people who don't do it for s living

As a 3D artist and passionate Simmer… I am so excited about the houses you created. It looks so cute and definitely fits the style and criteria of sims. As an artist, you fit the style guide with its limitations and made it look good. It was also awesome to see the progress of the client and how the world comes together. That’s so cool.
Kind of shocked there hasn’t been a blue suburban officially in the sims yet 😮 Did they give you specifications on the size of the house (tile-wise, not bed/room wise)? The second you talked about deleting objects for budget, I thought of the classic lilsimsie tip “make the house smaller”.
Idk why I was crying this whole video, I guess I’m just so proud of you. I’ve been watching you since like 2018 (or whenever you were doing the Gertrude sims 3 series) and it’s just awesome to see how much you’ve grown and how many amazing things you’ve achieved. you should do an "update" video of how you would style this house without the price restriction. like the family has been living there for a while and come into money and gets to upgrade the bed or buy more toys etc. I'm definitely going to be playing with this house once the pack comes out and cant wait to update it with more of the new items (the treehouse!!)

I started playing GT yesterday and accidentally chose the blue suburban house 😂❤ Just loved the style and the fact you could have lots of people living there! Amazing work, really! The funny thing is that the only elements I changed in the house were part of the original plan 🤣 All of your official buildings are awesome! And I love how honest you are about the whole process! ❤

I really like all 3 builds. Really, Kayla, you are an artist! It's right for you to be paid for the work you put into these builds. Your art is building for the sims, which you have a real gift for doing. I can't decide which build is my favorite. But I have at times wished for a rec center like there was in Colorado when I lived there. The rec center you built is just exactly that! A place for any activity. So many places I've lived, if there was a rec center it just is a place for swimming and sports. Yet I Colorado I was involved in art classes and crafting classes at our rec center. One thing I'm really looking forward to are the baby gates. That is such a big thing in life to block babies and toddlers from areas they should not go! I hope from what you said about elders today that this means game play for elders has improved. Although I know I will keep putting elders in my families because they make built-in baby sitters.
I'm always glad that Simsie is so transparent on when she is or isn't paid by EA. But I AM glad to hear EA paid her for her builds! She said she's not an artist but design and decor and architecture and landscaping are all totally art imo. Simsie is totally an artist 💖
I haven’t watched simsie in a while and I didn’t realize how much I missed her until just now. Kayla is such a comfort to me and all my anxiety just goes away watching her videos. So that’s cool ☺️

I’m so excited for all your builds, ESPECIALLY the rec center. In my legacy challenge I had a teen sim who had an “after school hangout club” and wanted to have them use a club room at high school and was so disappointed when I found out you can’t host club meetings at the high school lot. Very excited to revisit the idea at your rec center ❤
Kayla, I would love to see (once the pack comes out) what you would do if there weren't money/pack restrictions! Like your original idea before you had to delete things bc it was too expensive. It could be like a mini-series of all 3 of your builds! Or even your old builds for other packs!
