  • The Alcatraz escape is probably one of the subjects i’ve studied the most about in recent years, it’s something that really interested me. There’s plenty of detailed documentaries about it and the family. There’s proof and photo evidence of the Anglin brothers with there family neighbourhood friend at there farm in brazil i believe. They also send flowers and a birthday card to family members so they know that they’re okay and well. They also did DNA test on another family member to prove the bones they found that they believed was the anglin brothers was a match and it wasn’t anywhere near a match. It’s such an interesting subject like it’s so fascinating how they escaped and all the planning that went into it. Would love to go visit alcatraz

  • Fun fact: Its legal in germany (and other countries like Mexico) to escape prison as the definition of freedom is different. People do not have the right to freedom but rather the “pursuit of freedom” meaning that trying to escape from prison (if you dont break any other laws) is legal.

  • About the Frank Abagnale one, I think Vik got it wrong. There was an evaluation of prisons by the FBI, they sent in fake prisoners to test if there were any human rights violations, someone forgot his papers and Abagnale was clever enough to trick the guards into thinking he was one of these fake prisoners. Then he presented the papers, said "oh this prison is very well kept and you passed the test" to the guards and let them phone his friend to check the story. The guards patted themselves on the back for not having been fooled and let him go. Damn genius.

  • The story of the three guys escaping Alcatraz is pretty interesting. Yeah, they could have drowned, but years after the escape the brothers mother would receive flowers yearly with a note saying they were from her son's, and of them saying that they were okay. Funerals within the family were visited by two odd ladies (from what some family members reported), the two odd ladies were seen at every funeral that was held for the family. And if they did survive then they lived a little over 50 years with a clean record.

  • Lemme tell you the story. those three men in alacratz or however you spell it. when the made the raft they were heading to the golden bridge or a bridge ( i cant remember the name) but because of the wild current they were heading straight for the ocean so they had to jump off. The water was less than -50 degrees so they would have soon got hyperthermia and so there body wouldnt produce gas bubbles and their body would slowly sink. The guards found a home made paddle and some photos and letters of the prisoners families which they probably wouldnt leave behind to just trick the police. The only proof of them being alive is that after years somebody said that he is john anglin and that he says he will give him self in if they talk with him on tv ( when this letter was sent tv's had only just been introduced to the public. But when the FBI compared the handwriting of John anglin's letters it was very different to the original so they didnt accept anything. This took me a long time to write and im in the middle of an online lesson at school so pls like this comment

  • For the people who escaped Alcatraz the FBI got a letter a couple years ago claiming to be one of the people who escaped. In the letter it basically said they were dying of cancer and would serve jail time in return for special medical treatment.
