Julie, I don't know how you manage to create such wonderful videos: you choose music that mirrors exactly the rhythm and choreography of each dance Gabriella and Guillaume are doing; the editing is seamless; the words of this Ed Sheeran song matches exactly what's going on in the choreography. Absolutely stunning, creative, and inspired!!

Julie Wie, I'm a long-time musician (play all flutes and my teacher encouraged me, as did one of my best music directors, to make sure that "phrases go somewhere; repeated notes are not just 'bouncing balls'; my flute teacher used to put forward-moving arrows in my music to remind me to 'shape a phrase', and as a piccolo specialist, I've always been attuned to being absolutely in tune -- whether it's in a 70-piece orchestra or concert band -- and when I play solo c-flute or alto flute -- at a church service, in a concert, etc. -- I try my hardest to make the music 'speak', create emotion in the listener, play "musically"; the latter touches an audience even more than straight technical skill.....people have come up to me with tears, saying things like, "your playing moved me/touched my heart so much!" and that's what I want to feel when I watch contemporary dancers or hear diverse genres of music: passion and soul); and that's why I love Gabriella and Guillaume so much (the passion/soul/emotion/connection comes even through my computer screen and I find myself often in tears -- because of the way they connect with their music and with each other, and how it connects to their audience). I also worked in radio & tv for 15 years, directed live performances, etc., and know how important seamless editing (of music, of video, of tape -- in my day) was and still is -- I can hear (with a "jerk" of my nerves) when music is poorly edited, when the music and/or words have nothing to do with the dancing or skating. I'm also a long-time proofreader/editor, so, even though I don't go looking for errors, my nerves do the same "twitch" when I see incorrect grammar, poorly written text, etc. I guess, bottom line, all these things are just innately parts of my personality; I had them at an early age, and just made sure I made all of them better as I grew older. Thus, I do realize how much work you put into your videos, and why I appreciate the finished products so much. Many thanks for the joy you bring to me (and so many other people)!

Julie, how lovely to find out that you're a musician, too. I could tell you were an artist of some kind, in the way you chose different music that matched their choreography exactly, knew exactly when to show slow-motion and real-time segments, and edited your videos seamlessly. I'm Jamaican, now a US citizen and I love love love Vanessa and Morgan. I started watching G&G also and they're amazing. The French team has my vote. The Russians are good and Chock and Bates from USA are awesome...but the French are unique with their modern costumes and avante-garde programs. Allez!!
Both of you, Dora and Carla, are comparing different things. Dora : Vanessa James and Morgan Cipress were great in FIGURE skating, and Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are amazing in DANCE skating. Carla : Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov were absolutely awesome in 1988 and in 1994, champions twice, but it was so long ago! __ Sergei passed away 25 years ago! __ you can not compare them to the skaters of our time now!
